You're not the only one who has not found a shiny in the new remakes. Last shiny I got ( for my captured shinies) was a Watchog in Y version, and I traded it for a shiny Boldore (now Gigalith). My first ever captured shiny was a Wurmple in my Ruby version right after obtaining the pokeballs (it was the first wild pokemon encounter).
Has anyone received an Eon Ticket yet? I still have not received one, even though I have gotten online at least 5 times.

I actually got one the other day. If I lived near you i'd help you out
Thanks for letting me know you got one. I was beginning to wonder if anyone had one.
Can you get it over the Internet using Streetpass, or do you have to use it locally? I want to know so I can go to the mall (or MSU campus) if I need to (hopefully someone in Mankato has one).

I think it's through streetpass, but if you ever want to trade for fun anyway let me know xD
I'm so excited. I got mine, but I told myself I wouldn't play until after finals (Wednesday night) so I can actually sit down and enjoy it without worrying about anything else.
Is it good???
I really like it. It brought back memories from the original Ruby version, but still had some new things. The DexNav is awesome if you want to catch pokemon. I also like how the map updates on where secret bases are.
I beat the Elite Four in about a week. Sad thing is, I know that there were people who finished within a couple of days of getting it. It took me longer because I had classes and I wanted to stay current with my town in AC:NL.

Yeah, I really liked the original Ruby/Sapphire, they were one of my favorites, so when I heard they were remaking it, I just about freaked out. I think I scared my boyfriend a little.
Yeah, I think I'll probably take a long time to finish, just to explore everything and get the full use of it. Plus I have other games I need to play :P
I just bought Alpha Sapphire as an early Christmas Present for myself. On top of buying a vaccum because we needed one and work gave me a $50 Walmart Gift Card xD;; but I had the worst time picking my starters and just caved and picked torchic all over again. Torchic was my starter in the original Sapphire.
If anyone has it; what were your starters and how far have you gotten? I just made it to Rustboro before getting called into work today OTL
Alpha Sapphire was fun! I've beaten the E4, but I haven't done anything with the Delta Episode yet because I've been trying to complete the national dex, and I'm almost done! (No, I haven't been playing excessively, I brought most of my 'mons in from earlier games XD A few are from the original RSE games, so we've come full circle, I guess you could say.)
I'm excited to play them both, I got AS on release day and got OR a few days ago, but I haven't even bothered to pick either one up because I want to finish Pokemon X first. I do have a question though! I read online that there is ALOT of water areas where Fire-Type pokemon aren't very good in. I was worried if that was true?

There is a lot of water in Hoenn, especially AS since the enemy team uses water pokemon, but honestly it's not really a bad thing. If you were reading IGN and their infamous "7.8 too much water" review, don't worry about it. I'd say maybe a third of the routes are water routes, but the encounter rate was lowered and if you Surf with a Sharpedo it's like a Mach bike on land (actually I think it's a bit faster than the bike).
Well that's good to know. I usually build my team with my main pokemon a fire-type, so I'll probably adjust my thinking this time. I wish that Pokedex that supposed to be released in March would hurry up so I can see what's out there.

You can always use an online site if you want to see what Pokemon are in the game, there are a lot of them. Bulbapedia and Serebii are probably the best ones.
If you want to main a fire type, I suggest Blaziken - the fact that it's also a fighting type will help since the Mighteyenan line is popular on the enemy teams. Plus, Hoenn doesn't really have many fire types to begin with.
Oh I know that. It's just I like having the physical book to go to. It's just one of my quirks, you don't want to know how many guides I have put away.
Blaziken was what I was going to end up having, I was planning on getting Torchic and I always keep my starters.

I'm the worst. I'm so sorry, everyone. I got really busy and only logged in long enough to do Melody (on the days I even remembered to do that), so I kinda let this thread drop. ):
But I hope everyone's been having fun! And I'm still breeding for my eventual first TSV giveaway. :3 I've got 7 different sets of Pokemon ready so far. :D
