Who's incredibly excited for Pokémon Ωmega Ruby & αlpha Sapphire? I know I am! In preparation (and maybe early celebration on my part), I've decided to piece together a mega thread with my dear husband in an effort to help everyone on their journeys!

At this time, I know this works for X & Y. I assume it will work with ORAS, but for now all giveaways/checks will be done for X & Y.

Some of you may know about TSV/ESV, some of you may not. TSV stands for Trainer Shiny Value. This is something that is determined once you start your file. The only way to change your TSV is to start a new file. ESV stands for Egg Shiny Value. This is determined once an egg is generated. If a TSV and ESV match, the egg with hatch shiny!

So basically, you breed a bunch of eggs, find out their ESV, and give them away/hatch yourself a shiny! How do you do this? By using something called PowerSaves. Some people consider this cheating, some people don't. I, personally, do not. Here is the reason why: absolutely no code is being altered. I am not forcing a Pokemon to be shiny, nor am I forcing a particular ESV on to an egg. The only thing I am doing is viewing a piece of code that you can't normally see. However, that is the reason some people consider it cheating -- because you're viewing something you normally couldn't see. If you are not comfortable with this, then you by no means have to participate. However, I ask that you kindly do not berate someone who does decide to participate. It is their choice, and they shouldn't be made to feel guilty over it.

Some general guidelines/rules:

1. If you need your TSV checked, just ask! It's really easy. All I need you to do is trade me a Pokemon that YOU caught.
2. All of my personal giveaways will be strictly TSV matches only in the beginning. After a period of time, I will mark a giveaway as Free For All (FFA from henceforth). When a thread becomes FFA, you may claim any egg. If there is another user with a matching TSV that did not want an egg, see if they will hatch it for you. :) You never know! Just be nice when asking. If they decline, that's their choice!
3. If you want to host a giveaway, be sure to ping the group! I will gladly list your giveaway thread in this post if you would like me to. :) If hosting your own, please make sure to set your own rules.
4. When it comes to hatching for someone else/asking someone to hatch for you, be courteous to one another! Both parties should stay online until the deed is done. Tipping a hatcher is always nice (they are taking time to do this for you, after all), but not necessary.

I failed so hard on the last one, even though I had so many ideas for it. I just got caught up in the game itself and forgot about the story to accompany it.

I know I do. But you know I probably won't choose until we pick them up. And even then I'll probably just choose some random chance way of choosing. :P And it's not as if I did any better with mine. Can't really say I'll try again, but I'll cheer you on if you do.

I know I certainly can't wait ! I'm getting Alpha Sapphire because Sapphire was my first Pokemon game ever. ^_^

I'm excited, but I can't get it the day it comes out :(. It'll probably have to be an X-Mas buy. I played the demo though, so that was cool! And hey, free Mega Glalie! I'm hoping to get Alpha Sapphire, because the only Legendary I don't have for keeps is Latias, I had to borrow her from a friend. Which is cool, because I like Kyogre best.

Personally, I played Emerald (out of this set), so I'm so on the fence about what version I want, haha. Which is why I'm making the hubby choose. =X

I'm not 100% on this, but I think with the Eon Ticket they will be introducing, you have the capability of catching the Lati you normally couldn't catch in your version.

I hope so, but just in case I miss the event for the ticket I want to make sure I get a Latias haha. I played Emerald too, and picked the color Blue. And then I played Black 2 and got another Latios! XP
