Just so you know, I have seen this and I do want to give you some help, just haven't had a chance to do so yet. The dress is absolutely adorable and well made, but the hair doesn't seem to match the quality of the dress. I'd love to give some pointers, esp with the type of hair, cuz I do agree, it does look more like streamers/ribbon than actual hair, and staff may actually say something about it. It's just a little too cartoony and with the way the cw market is right now, most buyers will prefer something that looks more like a realistic take on a cartoony hair. So yeah. I'll give some insight and redline/critique in a bit when I have a moment. =)

I know said she's going to help you out with the curls in the wig so I won't talk about that much, but I thought I could offer my two cents. I know the hair is a tribute to Chibi usa/Black Lady, but because of that you will have to change some things about the wig. I did a couple Sailor Moon tribute wigs myself and had a heck of a time getting them through since it's a tribute item and so specific to the character. The changes I ended up making to the wigs were the color, the gems/jewels for the hair, the bangs, and the shape of the pig tails.

Right now your wig, especially the bangs and buns, looks very much like the original tribute. Like said, I'd aim for a more natural looking hairstyle. The wig you've created is very cartoony, and the market now looks more for natural styles. So for the bangs, maybe a side swept style or just a more natural bang (like the wig you're wearing) would look great. For the curls, I think will have some good tips, but one big tip is to look at photos of hair and wigs. Because of the amount of hair and how heavy hair is, you generally won't see so much curl at the top. In this picture you see the hair is more straight at the top and gets more curly the further towards the tips of the hair you get.

As far as everyone saying the hair looks like streamers, I think it might be because the curls you've made are very circular in shape. If you look at that picture I linked, you'll see natural curls look very different from that. When there is a full curl, it is more elliptical in shape, rather than circular.

Overall, I think the buns look really nice, however the rest of the hair should be altered to look a little more natural. And as I said, I'd also consider changing the color (even though the coloring you have looks great) and adding some jewels or something so that you get those four changes you need for tribute items. If you have any other questions, feel free to ping me and I can come up with some more solid examples :)

- You're welcome :) Also you can keep the wig pink just so long as it's a different pink from the original. I know her hair is pretty close to that same shade, so maybe something lighter? Then you're still paying tribute to her without giving the exact color. Like the or or you could even do a gradient like into the color you have now? Just some ideas :)

Dunno if this'll help, but thought a visual might give you a little better help in how the curls would look better if they were more natural. Also a little ref for how I did them, simply anyways.

Also, don't be afraid to look at other cw artists work. You can even do some tracing for practice to understand how curls work. Tracing is a great learning tool. You could probably do some similar knots at the top like you have, but you can do whatever of course, this is just for ref and help. GL with it! I'd be happy to see the updates and such. =)

here is my wip. I made the base lighter, with pink's and purples as shadows. so thats change one- change two- is longer hair, because she has short hair. her buns are more wide and shorter as well. I added sidesweept bangs and her curlies on the side more natural.

based on what i did and the ref..does it look like enough changes? yet recognizeable to the tribute? also the curls, are they more natural looking? i wanted to go with a mixture of ringlets and loose waves/curls.

lol. I just barely posted the same time you did. Yes, the changes look good. I like the mix of ringlets and waves, sorta what I did in my ref too. ha. I saw the pics of her (googled) and was like 'huh' lol. You probably could still do front bangs that aren't side swept, just probably not all up high like you did before or exactly the same as the ref. Staff really is picky about that. You could always make the hair slightly shorter just to see if it'd look good shorter like the ref? Still wavy, curly, but maybe shorter, see what people think. Staff I don't think would mind if it was similar in length, as long as it was different in style. But yeah, looks good so far! =)

First off, LOVE the new color. That looks really great and I think it should be enough of a change. I think the buns should be enough of a change too now that they're more squat than the original. Staff can be picky sometimes, so make sure you save a copy of the working size just in case they tell you it isn't enough. The hair looks much more natural now and I like that you scaled it down a little bit too without losing too much volume. It's more natural without being blah. The bangs look really good, but I'm not sure what the long piece is on the left side (HA's right)? If that's part of the bang, I'd suggest kind of blending it a little more. Other than that, I like where this is going! Great job :)

is it those strands above the bands but under the part? i think what i thought would work was aligning the part to the part of the bands, and not sure if i have to realign the part to the middle or to the bands or keep the part but make sure those strands arent in the way. still not sure :(

- I think what they're mostly talking about are the strands coming down from the left (HA's right) pigtail. Because the hair is in pig tails, you should be able to see the hair being pulled up into the pigtail there. The way you have the strands laying now, it looks like that pigtail is pulled over almost on top of the head whereas the other sits more on the outside of the crown of the head. I don't think it'll be that difficult of a fix really. If you want, I can red line it for you.

Also, looking at it again, the one strand that comes down by the left side of the face (HA's right) might be throwing it off as well. You have another strand on the other side to sort of 'mirror' it, but the one on the HA's right should always either be the same length or a little shorter. Right now it's a little longer than the strand on the HA's left.

But yeah, if my explanation doesn't make sense or is kind of confusing, I can redline it for you :)
