Yeah ORAS has a good deal of them easily obtainable. I got all of them in OR, just need to get the remaining event ones on that game (have all of them in Y though)

Ugh that sucks. I am always very careful before legendary battles. I hardly ever catch one on my first try haha

[edit] do you do wonder trade at all? I don't usually but I heard it's especially good on wednesdays. so far I've gotten a level 100 shiny solrock, level 100 shiny zekrom, level 100 shiny mew, and a level 91 shiny dragonite. I am more than happy with this o_o

I tried wonder trade a few times but I never had anything good to put in and I was embarrassed putting weak common crappy pokemon in since I saw someone online complaining about people who do that so I stopped lol. Best I would get was a pokemon from another country that had a foreign name.

My friend actually just gave me a shiny absol today C: She'd been battling absols for like months until she got another shiny. Now we both have one, and we love absols.

I'm really bad at getting shinies. I don't think I've ever gotten one on my own apart from events.

breed a starter and get a full box or two of that starter, then wonder trade that :p

oh nice! does she chain them or something? I'm hoping to start chaining once I get my shiny charm on OR. I'm not sure what pokemon I want to try getting first, I'm not usually one to pick favorites.

I got a few in Y, mostly from hordes and just grinding those. from looking at my Y, it looks like I've found more than I remember. maybe three to five from the wild.

I recently just bought up pokemon yellow on the 3ds virtual console and I'm pretty happy! Already beat the second gym and am now working on getting the mew I got through a glitch up to the same level as everyone else xD Was pretty happy when I got the glitch just right!

As for other pokemon games, I really need to start shiny hunting again on Y/AS. I never got a shiny through dexnav (mainly because of impatience + the lack of many, many ethers/elixirs and pp heavy moves), so I want that to be my next goal. BUT... I fell into the habit of chaining, A LOT, on Pearl xD Bagon is a pain to get, really. Had some lucky chances on Pearl as well. Got a shiny swablu as a ~24th chain encounter and a shiny zigzagoon as a ~26th chain encounter. I was really happy about them both and hardly expected it!

Probably, I forgot to ask her. I don't really know what chaining is or how it works xD Like I said I've never gotten my own shiny, so I've never actively tried to get one either. I'm an absolute sucker for my favourite pokemon Scrafty, but I hated hated hated it's shiny form for a really long time, but I've recently come to terms with it.

Since shiny scraggy looks almost exactly like it's regular form -_- I hope that if I ever actually find one that I'll recognize it xD

For yours I actually was chaining. I was taking breaks and I was turning my game off, which I know breaks the chain but gotta do what you gotta do lol. I think that's why it took so long, but I was just happy to finally get you one. I actually don't have the shiny charm though, I've never caught them all.

My own Absol I got on Thanksgiving 2014. I was running along on the route with them and found it out of no where. Was pretty amazing to find my first shiny ever of my favourite pokemon.

it's easier in OR, you just click on the dex and then KO the pokemon, keep a repel on at all times, and just keep fighting until one shows up. oh yeah he's just a bit more orange. I tried for a shiny oshawott awhile back and had the same problem. I might cave and buy the stuff to fully unlock picross, I like the game but I'm stuck because of premium currencies.

in XY I just looked had a pokemon that knew sweet scent and did horde battles, that was a fun way to find shinies. I don't remember if I tried chaining too much
