Actually, I think that's a cute idea. As for the leader/co-leader intro stuff, I'm actually thinking that it can be different according to forums - mine can be consolidated into one thread, and you can keep yours the way it is! Does that sound okay? That way we can all sort of mod our threads according to our preference c:

If that's okay with you, we should just tell the rest of the admin that they can kind of ~~~ do whatever in their threads, as long as there's somewhere for discussion and the necessary things! And if they need to add something we can just let them know.

ALSO, shall we have a totally separate thread (independent of the sub-forums) made completely for monthly sprints - where people can post their forms? The first post can have all of the info about the monthly sprint, i.e., how it works, what forms to fill out. That way we can have them all in one place? I think that would be easiest. And we would need people to post their forms twice, once on here (pinging the user in charge of their collections) and once off-site. How does that sound to you?

That sounds good to me! Right now I have mine for meeting the leaders where my-coleader can make a post under me, and then I have a general discussion area set up.

I think it'd be nice for each leader to bring something along the lines we want, but in their own unique way.

Ah so much stuff to read... Okay so the intro is just like, about what our section is, right? When do you want it by/how long should it be?

ALSO, ABOUT THE PRIZES FOR THE SPRINTS. HOW THE HELL WOULD WE DO THAT WITH HOARDS?

Pretty much. Just get up an introduction board introducing yourself as the leader and rules to expect for your section. Then make a general discussion thread. And then...add whatever you want. Soph will actually be sending out another ping soon.

I've been thinking with hoards, that each participant can say "I'm collecting x kitty items" or something, and if they win they'll get a kitty item?

And I'm actually not here (you don't see me), I'm trying to get a bit of extra sleep while I can. I just couldn't stop myself from checking in. You guys seem to be doing awesome getting the forums set up! Can't wait until later when I check them out. :)

important staff stuff!

Hey all! Sorry for the overload of pings. and I are just trying to get these forums sorted out smoothly. We just had a discussion in the IRC about sub-forums and here's a rundown of what we decided.

  1. Run your sub-forum however you want, with the exception of two mandatory things. The mandatory things are an introduction, in which the leader and co-leader introduce themselves so that the people in your group can familiarize themselves with you, and know to contact you with concerns about your respective collection. The other mandatory thing is a general discussion thread for your collection. (e.g., My introduction thread and general chat are combined, while 's introduction thread and general chat are separate, but we both meet the requirements.) Other than those two things, put whatever you want the sub-forum that you're moderating. (e.g., I suggested to that she adds a 'stick the person above you' thread in her sub-forum since sticker people need to be stuck! By the same token, I created a ">New Beanbag Releases thread because it's something I thought would be useful.) Feel free to create and pin whatever threads you want in your sub-forum! You're moderating it. Just make sure it runs smoothly and that your titles are clear and easy to navigate.

RE: The FAQ of "Should my co-leader and I introduce ourselves on the same board?" It's up to you. Whatever you want to do. While on the topic of introductions - say what you're comfortable with. It doesn't have to be super personal, just let them know you're their collection leader.

As for RULES, if you have anything that you want to restrict people from doing in your thread, make it explicit in your first post! If not, I will be coming up with general offsite forum rules that should take care of everything else.

  1. Monthly Sprints. Ignore the part in my offsite forum post that tells people to post their monthly sprint goals on the general board. We will have a separate board independent of all of the sub-forums that will deal entirely with monthly sprint forms. People will post all of their information there. A rundown of the sprints is as follows:

- Sprinters ping admin in charge of collection they&;re sprinting for with starting # and goal (I&;ll make a form for people to fill out so the information is easy to sort through) by 11:59 P.M. subetatime of the first day of the month</p>

<li>Admin in charge of respective collections make sure are legit (i.e., if I say I&;m starting with 500 items in my hoard, introvert would check my shop to make sure I&;m not over or undershooting the actual amount)</li>
<li>Sprint actually starts on the second day of each month, and ends at 11:59 P.M. on the second-to-the-last day of the month. Sprinters are free to progress through their collections in the time between the first and last days as they wish. By 11:59 P.M. on the second-to-the-last day of the month, sprinters must submit the &quot;End of Sprint&quot; form, which will have ending # and yes/no for completed goal.</li>
<li>On the last day of the month, all leaders/co-leaders for each collection will submit the names of the people who have completed their goal to me (completion must be double-checked by leaders and legitimacy must be confirmed) by 11:59 p.m., and I will then proceed to enter all people who have completed their sprint goal in a raffle. The winner will be announced the day after (the first day of the next month.</li>

<p>The schedule will be tight and I&;ll get the forms done and when the sprints start happening I&;ll send out reminder pings to members and admin to submit forms/names, etc etc.

I writting my 'meet me' board as we speak. Uhm, as for the "stick the person above you thread", I'd love to refrain from that (if 's okay with that too) since there's not many members (As for now) maybe in a distant future. I think the thread could start really slow and it could take for someone years to get a sticker stuck if there'snot many members anyway. I was thinking about, instead, posting a reference to the existings threads on subeta on the subject as the fluency of posts is totally quicker. I used both of those threads that exists so I can give some advice on the use of them...

What do you guys think?

A reference board would be awesome! I agree with that because you're right, it would take a long time, esp. since the forums are offsite. (I didn't mean to put you on the spot, I was just using it as an example in my post! You're in no way obligated to make that board and in fact I agree with you that it's better to have a reference board with advice instead!) :)

You can totally put those in your post!

If you do decide to do a stick the person above, just remember that it won't only be people in the stickers collecting joining in on the sticking, but the whole board :p
