Sweet, making some money. You do pretty good amount of business?
I'm currently knitting a scarf for a friend of mine: black and pewter unisex pattern with a simple lace knit design. The main challenge with this one is that it has to be knee length so probably around six feet. Knee length ends when wrapped once (or twice?) around the neck. I can knit hats, shrugs, and socks, and probably more complex projects but I have yet to try something more complex than a sock. Colorwork is fun and I like lace knit, working with pretty variegated yarns, and just how much I've improved over the last few years. Youtube tutorials have been of great help.
I'm currently knitting a scarf. A Tom Baker scarf! First time doing a stock knit and now found it curling.... Was tempted to just rip it all apart and start again but then I have been doing it for a while so I really don't want to do it all again.
Hey I'm Monika and I knit! I learned when I was 8 and it just kinda stuck with me. I've tried to crochet but I just cant grasp it (literally, cant hold on to the hook xD). Also, has anyone tried loom knitting? It is really simple no knitting knowledge required.
I'm Katie and I do just about everything! XD My favorite craft is polymer clay things and I'm currently working on a large Five Nights at Freddy's project that I may or may not sell. I'm also working on miniature versions of family members for my grandma's miniature Christmas village, knitting a scarf for a co-worker, and working on a secret project that has to do with fabric :)
I just know the basic knit and purl when it comes to knitting, can anyone point me in the direction of some good tutorials for other ones?
Hey, I'm into the odd hobby of dolls.
I make clothes and occasionally mix and match various parts of them among other things... :3
Here are some pictures...
hey guys! i have been getting into sewing the past few months, i even opened up an etsy shop with terrible pictures. i recently made a bunch of bows and took them into my work and sold them all within the shift, made a bit of money, so i am making more of them. hobbies are fun, and hobbies where u can sell your product is even more fun!
Hi! :3
How big are the bows that you make?
You see, I'm into dolls.
And well, they have really big heads, 8-9 inches in fact...
If you make any that are 3 inches or less lengthwise...
I might be interested!
i currently have a 'system' where i make 3 different sizes: large - 6 inches x 8 inches medium - 4 inches x 6 inches small - 2 inches by 4 inches ultimately i can make them any rectangle size dimensions i just try to keep them consistent since they're for bows on the head (and my sanity!) if you would like a custom sized one for your dolls (or a few) i would love to make some for you!
Sweet!
Would 1 inch x 2 inches be manageable?
If so I'd like a few!
Like maybe two matching ones and then maybe 2 extra that don't necessarily need to match?
Any ideas on an approximate price for four tiny-ish bows?
i could def do 1 inch x 2 inch! would u want an alligator clip to clip them into ur dolls hair? thats what i tend to use for when i make bows, everyone likes that style to clip in vs a bobby pin. also what colors are you thinking of? if u just have outfits you would like them to match for i could do that too, either works well for me. as far as price i think i would buy super small alligator clips (unless u want me to use a bobby pin or one of those snap clips from like elementary school days) and depending on the color i might have to go buy some fabric (i'd buy fabric squares that are super cheap, barely a dollar for a decent size amount) so i'd have to charge per clip + fraction price of fabric + shipping (typically about 2$) and 1.49$ for an envelope to ship in. this could either be done all usd or csc/sp, either works well for me. i just love making things for others (especially subeta!)
Alligator clips would be fine. :3
As for colors, do you make solid color bows or use printed fabric?
But either is fine. :D
i can use both, sometimes i mix a printed fabric with a solid (like the part that wraps around the rectangle to hold it into a bow) or i can mix solids too! right now i have a lot of dark red (almost a maroon) and a rose pink. i also have a lot of dark blue (almost navy blue) and a nice black and white tribal-ish print. i can take pictures today of all the fabric scraps that i have, if you would like.
Pictures would be nice, but if you're busy don't worry. :3
no problem at all! today is my day off so im going to be nerding it up regardless. if you click the link in my signature, i have scraps of the red and strips from the dress, and the blue and the black and white pattern from the shirts. i will take pictures of my rose pink and anything else i find in my bin.
https://www.dropbox.com/sc/m1m1t98ec5wnvu7/AAAeWPsUzc-O65GU-b54H8WAa?n=204635625 i knew i was forgetting about a bunch of fabric, lol the red pattern one is a red/white/blue combo the pic just distorted the blue color to a black. my lighting in my apt is weird. it's also like a silk without any shine, so the fabric is super thin and would work super well for the size bows you would like. also the grey, gold and dark teal are technically 'lining' fabrics so there is going to be a little bit of shine to all of them, but theyre super thin and would work super well with the size bows. then the two pieces of fabric that change color is a silk, so that will have some shine to it as well. the grey floral print is smaller in print, and the mint floral print is BIG so i took a second picture of it where it's cropped to hell, or i can just find a mint plain spot for you to make the bows out of.
I think I'd like a pair of bows in that multicolored swirly print with the black background and then, maybe a single bow in that white, pink and orange fabric.
So, a total of three bows in the previously mentioned size? :3
a total of three bows, just to double check you want one of these: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/m1m1t98ec5wnvu7/AAAeWPsUzc-O65GU-b54H8WAa?n=204635625#lh:5-2014-12-07%2011.25.24.jpg (just to remind its red/white/blue im not sure why the lighting made the color look funky) and two of these: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/m1m1t98ec5wnvu7/AAAeWPsUzc-O65GU-b54H8WAa?n=204635625#lh:2-2014-12-07%2011.27.04.jpg (you can see the chair leg in the corner, which part of the fabric did you want the bows made from?)
