It's a slightly generic one, but this is everything that makes me feel super happy at Christmas. Harry Potter has been a huge part of my life since I was like, 3 years old and my mother used to read Philosopher's Stone to me in bed when I was a kid and couldn't really read on my own. Since then, every single Christmas, it has been our tradition of watching Philosopher's Stone every Christmas evening after we've stuffed our tummies full of yummy Christmas food in front of the open coal fire we have. It's one of the very few traditions my household has, aside from being read 'The Night Before Christmas' every Christmas Eve. I'm 21. I'm such a kid.

Each year with luminaire we set up the tree and decorate it with the family (well at least 10 members of it). Each member from young till old will put in one decoration until eventually either the tree is full or the decorations are all gone. We also write christmas cheers to hang in the tree and they will be read to the others on christmas day. Then we will drink some hot chocolate together. The reason why I picked the image of the cat is because what happened two years ago. After we decorated the tree my cat decided that it was her job to....well remove all of the decorations again LOL. Since we had no chance of putting the tree in the house from that moment on we placed it in our garden in front of the window.

i love Christmas!.. the lights, the beautiful colours of the decorations, and the beautiful-ness of the snow covering the land. i live in Canada where you get freezing cold temps and lots of snow (that's not my fav at all, hehe). :3 my family has a tradition where on Christmas eve all the kids open up a gift each.. it's always new pjs that you can wear to bed and most of the next day. :P Christmas day we all get up and open stockings, then my father makes a big breakfast of bacon, eggs and hash-browns. Once everyone is all done and ready we open presents, but now that i have the kids it usually gets done sooner. xD After a amazing turkey dinner we all curl up and watch the latest new kids animation that we got <3 i love spending time with my family for Christmas. 🎄

My favorite holiday memories involve my grandma and I. I've always been a very physically affection person and my grandma and I would cuddle on the couch and watch tv together all the time. I miss her a lot.

I would make my horse a pair of antlers (sometimes just cardboard, but one year I sewed and stuffed a pair; they were too heavy and kept flopping over, haha). My mom and I would pick out a bunch of little gifts for one of our neighbors and I'd ride my horse over and play Santa. We picked someone different every time, and we didn't do it every year, but it was so much fun and I always got really excited about it.

My favourite holiday memory is hanging out with my friends exchanging presents and drinking hot chocolate (and watching the dumb people outside trying to walk down the street in the snow).

I live in an area I live in where it never snows, but a few years ago we got lucky and it did. It was amazing, my sisters dog starting his super excited run out the back door like he did every morning and skidded to a halt just before he hit it because he had no idea what it was. When he finally went out into it he would only move by jumping. Me and my sister went out for a walk and the sound of the snow coming down was incredible, this super soft amazing hissing. We got to the beach and found some rigid plastic sheets and went sliding down the sand dunes. On the way back we went and looked at all the snowmen people had built and fought a homer and a dalek c:

Hmm. About 10 Christmases ago my family moved to a new house in a new country in late December. We didn't have much furniture as everything was still packed away in boxes and we'd sold a lot of things before moving. So we spent a couple of days before Christmas in IKEA buying mostly tables and storage units (dressers, drawers, cupboards, wardrobes) and ended up putting them up all through Christmas day. XD It was actually a lot of fun and we still managed to get presents and nice food, although the day was quite disorganised. c:

My most beloved Christmas memories are around my early childhood where all my family, grandma and granddad, mum and dad, brother, uncles, aunts and cousins were gathered around a big sparkling Christmas tree which stands beside a huge decorated table with presents and a crib. The table was piled up with small and big gifts and plates with cookies, chocolates, tangerines, oranges and foreigns spices. Best were the scents, fresh fir and pine mingled with fruits and sweets. All was sparkling, the gift wrappings and decorations yet also the children´s eyes. Mum and I lived for years with my grandparents and there were years when we were really poor. Yet all the family together let miracles happen for us kids. I am often longing for the laughter and the happiness in these years.

i don't have a specific holiday memory that is my favorite, but every year a new pokemon game was coming out, i'd get it for christmas and spend the whole week playing it! ❤ (doing the same thing this year with the hubby!) pokemon was definitely one of the happiest things from my childhood and i'm thankful to grow up with it and still be a die hard fan! ❤ 😊

My favorite holiday memories are spending Christmas Eve with my family, with the tinkling tree lights, waiting until it's 12 to toast and send good wishes to everybody :D

Was there an event yesterday? Oh no I missed it. I must have been too lazy to check for it in the pages. Thanks for hosting these. Hopefully I'll have the energy to participate in some of them. :P

I don't really know if I have a favorite holiday gif/image, but my favorite thing about the winter (minus the cold) is the snowy winter wonderland. I love snow. I love it more when I don't have to clean it and when it's not freezing outside..

This is a stock image from google because I don't think I've ever taken any snowy pictures myself, with the exception to one time when my boyfriend drew a heart in the snow on my car, but it was dark at night so it's not too visable. <3

I know you didn't ask for a story I guess you did ask for a story. LOL. A few years back my friend came to visit me and the night she was here, there was a huuuuge snow storm and we had gone to the movies before the storm really picked up we went to watch Les Miserables and when we got out the streets hadn't even been plowed yet etc.. and I also had to go feed my boyfriend's parent's cat because they were away, so we drove like at a 2 mph rate down to my boyfriend's house which normally would've been 15 minutes away from the movie theater but this took us an hour in the snow (and with me trying not to die) and it was an amazing adventure. That friend is my best friend and she's coming to visit for Christmas, she'd been living in Japan for the past two years and I can't wait to see her. Seriously, I miss her so much. <3 But thats one of my favorite winter-time memories. <3 <3

My favorite Christmas memory was when my family had hotpot to celebrate. It was really lively at my house, with 10+ people chatting and laughing. The food was delicious of course. After the hotpot, we just waited until midnight to open our presents under the Christmas tree.

We always watch A Garfield Christmas Special every year. I grew up watching it on vhs with my grandma, the tape is long gone now, but fortunately the video is on youtube! Makes me feel so nostalgic for the comfort/safety of grandma's living room. Also, the scene with Garfield and the grandmother always gets me.

My favorite holiday memory would have to be sitting around a fake fireplace and playing board games until midnight. Being with family and being warm was just a simple pleasure of the holidays :)

i hope to be caught doing this all weekend

best holiday memory would have to be two years ago, news years eve - the long-time boyfriend and I settled in for the night, pulled the mattress out into the living room, lit a fire in the fireplace. best cozy night to ring in the new year together. we are notorious for having shitty new years eves together, so it was nice to deny all the anxieties of going out and planning a safe ride home and the usual shitshow that is nye - and just be together in the comfort of home, with our favorite furry babes, listening to our songs, and sipping our favorite drinks. I would love to do it again this year because we only did it the one time and honestly, it was the best. we should do it more often, everyone should c:

thank you for hosting! good luck everyone - i'll be reading up on your entries ;3

My family doesn't celebrate a winter holidays, but my dad's family did. My grandfather was the picture of jolly ole Saint Nick and he'd dress up as so for us grandkids, coming in with his beard and belly (both real) to bring us our presents to open on Christmas Eve night at my grandparents house.

I love my grandfather. He passed away five years ago around this time. His birthday was Christmas day, and we'd always go back over to their house for a birthday brunch, complete with German Chocolate cake, his favorite.

I love winter so much. ❤️

The holiday season is my absolute favourite time of the year even though I'm never really a part of the main festivities - parties, gatherings and social aspects, haha. I just really love reveling in the solitude of winter ever since I was young, ya feel? Like blasting carols, singing your heart out (not like I don't do that any other time of the year), snuggling up with blankets, breathing in the crisp air, seeing your breath in the cold weather, the colours of the sky, looking up at the brilliant lights, sweater weather, scarves... I think I just really appreciate the mundane stuff because I always find myself feeling the most alone during birthdays and holidays anyway, might as well get something out of it, heh. It's kind of bittersweet for me but somewhere along the way, I suppose I fell in love with winter.
