My favorite holiday memory is stockings! I LOVE buying stocking stuffers, i think it is the cutest thing ever, and we have the extra large stockings so they are huge hehehe! They are my favorite thing and i remember growing up there would always be mini gifts from all sorts of family members because everyone wanted to participate in stockings, its cute!

Several years ago, more than twenty I guess...yikes, I remember a particular Christmas at my favorite aunt's house. I was raised Jewish but my aunt married a Christian, so some years we would celebrate Christmas at their house. Anyway, I just remember the tree lit and the fireplace crackling and eating a good dinner all together. My aunt had this great old farmhouse with a TON of personality and I loved being there, but that particular holiday was just warm and wonderful and everyone was smiling and happy. A few years later my aunt passed away, her husband became estranged, everyone grew up and went separate ways and we just never had a beautiful holiday like that again.

Six years ago, we brought home my dog, Lyritt. She was 10 weeks old. She'd already grown so much by Christmas day, and we'd only had her a month! Although she'd had some trouble walking when we got her, she was running her floppy self up and down the steps by then, and she was completely (or almost completely?) house trained. She was comfortable in her crate at night (though she doesn't sleep in a crate anymore), and I think she may have even been allowed to sleep on the bed with us by then. She's still very, VERY loved.

My favorite holiday memory is probably from when I was about 7. We were trying to open presents, but our dogs kept trying to roll in the wrapping paper and begging for attention. So, my mom came up with the idea of "Merry Dogsmas," where the dogs got their bones and toys wrapped and some special treats/wet food on the back porch while we unwrapped presents inside. Now the dogs know exactly what's coming, and they're just as excited on Christmas morning as we are. c:

Yesss, it's time for me to break out White Christmas and Holiday Inn.

My favorite memory isn't really something sweet, it was something funny and we talk about it every year.

I was still in high school, my sister was in middle school and her big wish that year was a guitar. She got it. Dad in the mean time got a new knife, so he decided to use it to open my sister's guitar, next thing you know he stabbed himself in the leg and ended up in the ER. Nothing major, but still a funny memory we recall every year, especially when Dad gets a knife.

I live in Cali where it only snows in the mountains so back in 1997, my city got the greatest surprise ever. It snowed! It wasnt even a foot, maybe 2 inches only but it was snow! When my family looked outside that night we thought...oh its just some hail but then we noticed it was falling slowly not fast like hail would. We started asking, is that snow?? So we stepped outside for a few minutes. It felt like rain but didnt look like rain, it blew my mind lol. I was about 9 or 10 at the time. The next morning i made a snowman...a snowman of ice and grass, it was only 3 feet high. xD Now whenever the nights get cold i hope that it will snow again and that my husband will have his chance to have that same experience as i did.

Last Christmas was my son's first. Santa brought him a ball pit and as soon as he saw it he dove right in.

I have a large extended family, and my absolute favorite memories of Christmas were all spent with them. Everyone would start piling into my Grandparent's home early in the day, and by the end almost 100 people all piled into the house. Every time the door bell would ring, everyone would run up to the front door, eager to see who was there. Me and my 34 cousins would romp around in the basement while the adults cooked and after dinner we would all open our presents. I distinctly remember it being warm, fun, and totally exhausting.

I don't celebrate Christmas, but my favorite memory would be... Walking to Tim Hortons with my best friend(and apartment-mate). It was not too cold and was snowing beautifully. We took the side streets where there was almost no traffic, and the lights, combined with the snow was just beautiful!

My favorite holiday memory is when I was little, my parents would let me and my brother open presents on Christmas Eve if we agreed to go to church at midnight with them. I was always super tired and half asleep by then but this was the service where we got to sing all the pretty Christmas songs I liked so I would just sit back half awake and enjoy the music, all the Christmas lights they put up, and getting to stay up late as a child, back when that was exciting and not absolutely horrible, lol.

one of my fave (recurring) christmas memories is of my pupper... she likes to open presents (tho never does unless she has been Allowed By Her Humans) -- she is very soft with her mouth and daintily pulls the paper away and helps us unwrap our gifts like a good clever helpful baby ;_;

My favourite holiday memories was when my sister and I would make our own snow forts on our acreage. The snow would always get really deep and compacted so we would pull giant perfect blocks out of the snow and make massive fortresses with them.

Your story made me tear up a bit too, what a beautiful memory to have <3

My most special Christmas memories are with my dad, who I lost nearly 4 years ago. He always made it such a fun occasion, playing Christmas music all day, letting me decorate the tree, watching all the Christmas shows like A Charlie Brown Christmas (our favorite) and enjoying family time together. I passed a lot of our traditions onto my boys, and now onto my grandchildren.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Showing my age here but when I was a kid I remember watching this show when it was first aired. Charlie brown and snoopy were the biggest toy for children. I was mesmerized by this christmas special and I watch it every year. I also enjoyed Mr. Magoo's christmas show also...Such fond memories of times long ago.

My favourite winter memory - and activity, of course :D - is sitting around with friends or my husband (gosh, I'm getting old), drinking hot chocolate and watching winter or christmas related movies. Chronicles of Narnia, Polar Express, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Santa Clause, Little Lord Fauntleroy, you name it! <3

I had to be 11, my sister 4. Went out Christmas morning to see a humongous box under the tree. I ran over, it was for my sister. I was so jealous lol. never mind that half the living room was filled with gifts, I wanted that big box. It was a play washer and dryer. I still played with it. XD
