Hey there! I've just started playing Subeta and I rather enjoy it so far. Especially the Coliseum for sure. I've read through the guides a bit and it's a ton of info. I've got a couple remaining questions should you guys feel so inclined! Thanks so much!

  1. Regarding spells, are there any that you guys would recommend starting off over others? All I have right now is Marshine for the extra defense.

  2. I think I've hit a proverbial wall. There are a definitive few challengers in the Coliseum that I can consistently wreck and every single challenger after that utterly decimates me. Any advice on that? What's an up-and-coming battler to do at that point? It looks like it'll be a fair while before my pets are able to hold their own any further. Kind of stuck here haha...

  3. Glad to meet you guys! You'll be seeing more of me around, haha.

Welcome!

  1. Healing scrolls are the best to start off with. is cheap and heals you 7% per turn
  2. Battle quests will grow your pet faster than you thought possible ;) Esp with a GA.

My problem with the battle quests is kind of the same problem, though. I have to give up on the huge majority of them hoping to pick up the lower level opponents. I suppose patience is a virtue, eh? Haha.

What tier are you? Just curious (and too lazy to stalk) Because you could potentially use the eggs to quickly get to tier 3.

But yeah, just take it slow and enjoy the fact that BQs take only a few minutes because you can skip a majority of the opponents with no regrets. D: I'm jealous. Kind of, if I still did BQs.

I am a whopping Tier 1. A total badass, for sure. Haha.

Eggs you say? My interest, and tummy, are quite piqued!

Ahh so you are still in that range where eggs are a possibility. I dont know if you noticed when you were battling through the main page (not battle quests) but on the 5th win, you get a drop that you can't remove from your inventory. From the Stat Booster Guide

Eggs Eggs can only be used to benefit Tier 1, 2 & 3 Pets They are rewarded by the listed Coliseum challengers on the 5th win. You can not sell, trade or give them away, they are only available as a booster or food at this time.

[item2=Spiked Egg] (Eclipse, Pock, Saper and Riscors, Manticat) 1-3 Strength

[item2=Potion Egg] (Willowisp, Muffin Man, Oslyae the Amazonian Montre) 1-3 Health

[item2=Armored Egg] (Angry Angry Arnold, Coeli, Mephysto) 1-3 Defence

[item2=Lightweight Egg] (Buttwing Bomber, Cursed Irion, Lizard Minion) 1-3 Speed

[item2=Magic Egg] (Blood Bat, Rictus, Tide) 1 Strength 1 Defence 1 Health 1 Speed

But the idea would generally be to adopt a pet from the pound, use it to beat on the challengers that are beatable w/ basic stats, and then use the eggs on your main pet. Then repound and rinse and repeat. :)

Ahh! That's kind of sinister! "Give this creature a new home, force it to fight with no rewards then abandon it!" My regret is only that I did not think of it first!

Alas, I am but a wee baby. Can't adopt for 14 days. Shenanigans...

Would making pets then abandoning them work too? Or is that not kosher?

That totally works too xD Have at it and good luck!

Oh and don't forget to keep reading to pets (or using intelligence boosters) because scrolls and AP become very important c: And don't use any boosters you might get from shinwa etc because your pet size right now does not warrant it. Instead, sell them and buy CSC from the user shops for auto training, unless you're on the computer all the time x) Auto training could bring you out of tier 1 in a jiffy. o:
Intel boosters are the exception because theres never a wrong time to get smart.

Yeah I've been reading books and sucking at mystic spindle to work on Int. Going to grab that healing spell asap haha. What about scratchers? Are those worth 200 SP a minute to hope for stat boosts?

I would probably buy scratchcards and save them for later, if you were so inclined. Dunno if Mystic Spindle is even worth it tbh XD

Ah, yeah that makes sense. Good call. Also...Hah! That is excellent news, for I hate that game. Haha. Are there any weapons that are just a must have? I got a setup that looks something like: (Going to butcher names)

Pumpkin Staff thing. Ghost Bomb duder. Bronze Quill (Got that name down!) Purple shield thing. Love in the name. A cannon thing that looks like the Replica Minotaur but is not. Feathery Bomb. Or Hairy bomb? I forget. That Red Rreign staff that heals you 10 when you use it. Item Hunter shield

The list I had read told me to have 3 kad bombs but it only lets me use one in a battle? What's the dealio there?

Anything I really need to pick up? I know I gotta snag a Phoenix Quill at some point and whatnot but the tier thing makes buying weapons seem like a poor investment at lower levels. Fix my brain with your knowledge!

Also: Thanks a ton for the book! Am I supposed to sell it or use it? I assume layers are for the human avatar? No matter what I try to do with mine I can't even give the thing hair or pants. I own pants. It just won't wear them. So I have a really jacked up avatar that gives me the damn willies.

Hi there and welcome to the cool side of subeta! lol jk but welcome anyways. ^_^ You should grab a pquill as soon as possible because it will be with you for the rest of your battling career. You'll need it in every tier. c:

The normal set up for weapons is 2-3 Attackers + 1 freezer + any combination of 2-3 pinch healers + any combination of 2-3 blaster/full blocker

Out of these, the attackers are the only ones you ever "outgrow" unless you're using a scaling weapon like the trident.

I'll list out wepaons you'll eventually need, with cheaper ones in front :P Note that all of these are OPB.

Freezer - Gorgun/Gate Keeper Collar of Slavery/a lot of others (obtainable in battle shop) Freezes the opponent 100% of the time for one turn, allowing for lowered defense and more damage These all basically do the same thing, but the more expensive ones do more icons of damage which is probably negligible but can be helpful.

Pinch healer - Pheonix Quill(100% heal)/Amulet of Drakkonis(50% heal)/Reviver of the Lion(90% heal) Heals when youre in a pinch Pquill is the cheapest as well as best, but DrakAm and Reviver of the Lion are good as well. The one ring is alright as well, but tbh by the time you can use it, its outclassed by RoTL anyways.

Blasters - Blackmoon hand blaster/Recycle Blaster/Soma Tablets Blasters turn an opponents weapon into a useless item that they will keep attacking you with Once you get Soma Tablets, replace the BhB, but you will probably always have a use for Recycle blaster.

Full blockers - Rainbow Vortex/Shinwas Temple Shard/Amulet of Neutrality Fully block an attack negating all damage, can also be thought of as a ~20% heal RV is a cash shop item, STS is in the crystal shop, AoN is really expensive and probably never worth it unless theres a boss battle. AoN is the only not OPB item in this list, you can use it a few times per battle til it breaks.

[edit] Oh and I meant for you to read the OLL but you can do whatever you feel like with it xD Not sure why the wardrobe is messed up for you, but I know theyre still attempting to fix it. >_> However long that takes.

Aha! Man, that's killer! Thanks so much for all the info there. I was wondering about a freezer. Good stuff, good stuff! I really appreciate all the advice. Time to create an army to kick the crap out of some balloon animals. Like a real man!

I'd say right now one of the most important things you can do is up your pet in stats, so if you can afford 100 CSC every 4 days, you should autotrain your pet. Autotraining is most useful for small pets, because it gives you 28 sessions for 24 hours (because you have a GA). It insures that training gets done while you're asleep or busy.

Aye aye! And in this game Speed is relevant, yes?

It is. I'd say that until 1k stats, training evenly is a good idea. Then, after a while, you can start distributing stats in a way that works for you. Health is widely considered the most important stat, speed the least (but you can't go around without ANY speed). For the foreseeable future you'll be wanting to train the four core stats as soon as your level allows.

Always remember that level is only useful as a way to move up the other stats, so don't train it if the other stats can be trained.
