I'd probably explore it all if I could! Being from the US (California to be exact >>) makes it to where I get very little of anything even remotely nice looking. Our mountains have a decent enough view but rarely do I see much more than the peaks because of time constraints as well as my lack of transportation lol. One day though, I'll visit all the countries I've always dreamed of seeing. ^^

i've seen a couple of places in the US, i would like to see more, since some of the national parks are stunning. I live near the countryside, so at least i have hills and countryside nearby, but for the really awesome mountains you have to go quite far north.

here's some of the mountains i saw on one of my several trips up north ^^ http://larewenevenstar.deviantart.com/art/Mountains-91706528

i managed to do a few trips this year. normally i don't really go anywhere much on holiday, but this year i went to MA to visit a friend, the orkney islands (off the north coast of scotland) with my mother, then Vilnius in Lithuania to visit another friend. I want to go back to Mass next year, not sure about somewhere else to go. i tend to go places where i can visit friends so i don't have to be there alone XD

I've visited the East Coast a few times and Florida for vacation. The most exotic place I've been was Hawaii one year for summer vacation with my family. I use to do girl scout camp every year when I was younger and went horseback riding for a week at a time. I miss those simpler days lol.

Oh my, that's beautiful! Makes me wanna go even more now. Once I'm settled into my career (I'm gonna start going back to school [again] for criminal justice and get into shape so I can take our officer academy test without a hitch) and have my feet firmly on the ground, that's when I'll start doing my traveling. I wanna see Ireland, Scottland, Germany, New Zealand... all those lovely places the UK has to offers. Always been fascinated with nature and traveling, too.

I think it's kinda cool that in the states, there are so many different areas you can visit in just one country, though everything is so far apart! but you don't really need to fly to another country for a holiday, you can just visit another part of the country. :D

i've only done so much travelling recently because i've got some health problems, so still live at home and can't work too much, so i figured i might as well spend some of the money i earned taking trips to visit my friends. otherwise i'm just wasting time. i mean, i still just waste time in between trips, but still, at least i feel i've accomplished something. :P

that sounds like a cool career choice though! :D good luck!

i've been to all those places except new zealand, though i'd love to go there. my mother has been there a couple of times. a few years ago she took a really long trip there, can't remember whether it was 6 weeks or 10, but she started on the south island, rented a car, and drove through the south island up to the north and visited as many things as she could on the way. ^^ she stayed in youth hostels, so it was really cheap :D

i really want to be a writer, when i get down to actual writing i'm pretty good i think, it's one of the only things i'm confident that i'm good at, but unfortunately i have the worst combination case of writers block and procrastination ><

Those are great reasons (and yet a couple not so great) to go traveling! Live life to the fullest. ^^

I had the opportunity to go to NZ when I was in high school on a scholarly trip (basically study abroad for high school students lol) but I couldn't afford it so I had to decline the offer. I was so sad about it.

What kinds of things do you enjoy writing? I'm an aspiring writer myself and partake in on-line writing forums with a bunch of friends I've made over the years. I've got one novel idea in mind, just need to stop being lazy and write the sucker! Writer's block is the worst though! I find what helps me is music or movies. Pride & Prejudice, for example, has a great score within the movie and the dialogue helps with my creative juices. I just put something like that on and keep pushing play once it's finished lol.

Off topic... I found my original account and it makes me sad. -cries- So many items I wish I could transfer onto this account...

i think if in school i'd had the chance to go to NZ i would have said no, a) too expensive, and b) i hated the people in my school XD

i mostly write fantasy, often with a bit of historical stuff in there too. sometimes i combine the two genre, though not too often. i have 2 novel ideas planned, but i just can't get down to actually writing them. when i was in uni and i got deadlines, i did tons of writing, plus one of my lecturers was awesome. in first year we had a creative writing class, and each week he'd give us a writing task for the next week. in 2nd year we started on script writing, but i asked if he'd still give me creative writing tasks, then tell me what he thought, and he did. he even helped me out with reading some of my work out in public and things. but now i'm not in uni, i don't have the deadlines which has really thrown me off.

awww ;-; that must be horrible! i'm not sure if it's allowed, but can you send some of the items to another user then get them to send it to your new account? i'm not sure if that'd be ok :S

Both very valid and understandable reasons. ^^ I was okay with the other people on the list of invited students so I wouldn't have minded.

I loveloveloveloveloved my creative writing class I took a last year! The professor was great and he really got our creative sides to blossom. I hate poetry and he even got me to write it. I was shocked at my own accomplishments in that class actually. Wrote fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and .... something else but I can't remember what it was. Deadlines definitely help and as soon as you lose them it's like nurrr! I wants them back. I've thought about doing NaNoWriMo but don't necessarily have the time now because of work and my other obligations. :/

I don't think it is but I guess I could definitely throw the staff a ticket asking such a thing. I know multiple accounts is strictly forbidden and I dun wanna break any rules. That account is SOOOO old though lol. Almost 7 years and counting.

my lecturer was like that, though i could never get the hang of poetry, just not for me. i can't stand it. it's very very rare i find a poem i like :P he was always really good at telling me what was good and bad about my work, he was usually pretty impressed. mostly i was able to write fantasy or historical stuff for the assignments, but one week i couldn't work the assignment around to my strengths, i.e. it had to be set modern day >< so i wrote this piece that i hated as i wrote it. when he handed it back the next week he said 'you didn't like this assignment did you?' of course, i said no, and he said 'yeah i could tell, try and stick to fantasy and historical from now on, you're so much better at it' i know chaosdawn does nanowrimo, she seems to really like it. i've not used it, i thought about it, but it's not really my kind of style, i couldn't work it out, so i didn't xD

yeah might be best to ask a staff member. if you are allowed, i'll happily help you out moving stuff over ^^

I think my issue with poetry lies in the fact that I can't understand it most of the time. I tried taking a Shakespear class once and just bombed horribly because the sonnets and poems and just everything killed my brain and I couldn't comprehend what the old English words were saying lol.

Sticking with your strengths is always a good idea, especially once you've found them. I'm not good at first person POV nor am I good at non-fiction. I turn everything into fiction third person POV whenever I can lol. I've done modern day stuff though as well as more medieval or period things. Presently, the on-line writing site I'm apart of, is set slightly in the future on a made-up island off the East Coast of the US and it's a human/shifter/wolf site. We're laid back and it's liquid time so threads could last forever if we really wanted them to and not affect anything currently going on with characters lol. If you're ever interested in trying at it, I'd be more than happy to give you the link so you can check it out!

I'm kind of afraid to ask but if they do say yes, and I can figure out what my password for the account is, you'll definitely be hearing from me to help out lol.

I thought it was omiai's shop at first and then was like oops lol. I rather enjoyed seeing the Fall Angel Doll this year for Morostide. Always love me some Castiel love. <3

They had him last year as well too. I'm hording him. :p

I don't have a lot of what I want in my gallery but a lot of it is pretty damn pricey.

yeah i've always struggled to get my head around it. i consider myself a pretty clever person, but i often find poetry is a bit...full of itself i guess. and i just can't make sense of half of it XD i hate stuff that i have to read into, reminds me too much of high school and the many arguments with my english teacher over the meanings of books and things XD

i can usually do first or third person pretty well, i'm alright at non-fiction but only if i can put my own twist on it...like i'd write it like a fiction but it would technically be non-fiction if that makes sense. plus i don't read much non-fiction unless i have to. as much as i enjoyed uni, i don't miss pouring over all the non-fiction books on cinema XD

that sounds like a cool website ^^ i prefer to work on my own stuff on my rp with chaosdawn, but i might look into it some time.

worth asking, better than just doing it and getting into trouble for it. at least if you ask, you have official permission for or against it :D

Because it's an old account that I forgot about, I'm not sure if the staff will be okay with me moving things over. I still haven't sent the Ticket in because I don't know where to send it to (probably to the Accounts other but I'm gonna look again). I'd appreciate the help from both of you though. ^^

I like the way you put that. "Full of itself" works perfectly! I'm like you though. I also consider myself a rather clever person but poetry just isn't my forte at all.

That's exactly how I wrote my non-fiction and my teacher made me re-do the assignment because of it. I still fought against it though and told him it was non-fiction because it was based off true events. He still didn't like it and I finally gave in redoing it because I needed the grade. :/ And non-fiction cinema sounds interesting actually. I dislike reading because I have to, it's meant as a pleasurable thing in my opinion, not something to be forced upon others.

Oh definitely! I'd never just go and do it without permission because I'd rather not get banned for having multiple accounts. Just so much awesome Melody stuff from years ago and stickers and plushies and beanbags lol.

yeah, i hate when they do that, i had that problem with my english teacher all the time. I would write something, but try to put my own spin on it by telling it like a story rather than just a set of facts. weirdly, i got top marks for a geography assignment by doing the same thing XD i was kinda proud of it, i used anime characters, and used them to tell the story about the culture of Japan. my teacher loved it, she said it was so much more interesting, informative and fun than anyone else's :D

non-fiction cinema wasn't that good. mostly just reading the books. it was just hundreds of pages of theory on filmmaking and cinematography and other stuff. it wasn't very exciting :P i was much more into the screenwriting side of my degree :P

might have said this before, but when i was in high school, i pretty much failed my final english exam, i just managed a pass thankfully, but i don't think it reflects my actual skill in english. then when i went to uni, i struggled with my first essay so went to ask my lecturer about it, and she said 'you are writing at 4th year in uni level, you need to tone it down a bit' and it finally twigged that that's why i did so badly in higher english, i was actually too advanced for it. it's hard to explain without sounding big headed :P

but i hate when teachers make you feel stupid for something or tell you it's wrong when really its just the marking scheme that's wrong. they want people to be smart, but not too smart, and they want them to be creative...as long as the creativity fits in a box ><

it's a shame you probably won't be able to move the collectables over, since they are in the collectables page rather than wardrobe items and things, which you can remove.

Oh, that'd be awesome! As soon as I get around to it, I'll send it your way. ^^

That's great! I love taking a general idea with facts and letting my mind run rampant with the idea until I've made a story. That's why I'm stoked about my primary novel idea. It's one of those things that's been done time and time again yet I add such a twist that it'll make it brand new.

Don't get me started on how awful I was and still am at school-grade English. Regardless of the level, I'm not one for essay writing and quite frankly hate even the thought of writing them. I'd rather stick to my creative writing styles and go from there, and never dabble in essay writing for the rest of my life lol. But that's an awesome fact to come to realize. I'm actually quite jealous that you're level of advancement in English writing is so high. I'm also one of those people that doesn't put enough effort into my essays or school work and procrastinates to stupid levels. I've written 10+ page essays the night before though and still gotten decent marks (usually low B to high C).

The only subjects that can rightfully tell you that you're wrong are science and math. And even in science there are tons of things that aren't proven still. So for any professor of English to tell you you're wrong or make you feel stupid for your work is an a-hole. End of story.
