Sooo. Choose outfit shows me my current one and 5 broken images. Ok. The preview button is huge... I'd like for it to be how it used to, with the post button being most prominent.

I actually don't see a use for this choosing outfit on forums? I read through all the posts but I fail to see why it's needed? Roleplaying must be a really different thing than from what I remember... So people are really unable to denote a different character any other way besides changing their outfit? If that's the case then why can't they just, well, manually change their outfit in the wardrobe like everyone has always done?...

I can think of plenty of things that needed fixing over this being implemented, to be honest. It's great that the staff has been so in touch via the siteupdate ping group and all these bug fixes are happening but... Well the achievements are still messed up. The wardrobe counter on achievements won't count. Entire pages are missing from achievements. We're getting achievements we're not supposed to have. The event lists the wrong tier when you actually receive it. Not to mention the entire wardrobe is in beta and it feels like it will be in beta forever.

I mean this really feels like the most useless "update" to forums ever. o_o I'm glad that you finally added back the disabling of full avatars, which have been missing for months. But please.

I like it. I would never get to use my saved avatars otherwise.

Cool idea. Not tried this but a lot of people's HAs in the forums are now just broken images for me.

I can appreciate this from a roleplayer's standpoint, but why oh why would you push a new feature for a huge part of the site that's already broken? Forums included - I just got redirected (after posting) to a closed thread and had to come back to repost because it didn't send.

In previous years, the Masquerade forums had this cute little thread where the prominent characters for the Masquerade showed up and people got to Dance with them. It had a minor RP aspect, and it is the ONLY time I really ever RP. I liked it. It was a nice little experience, relaxed, simple, not intimidating. That wasn't there this year. I believe in some Pandemics there was a similar thread too.

And no, nothing that effects the event/plot's progression, just a nice little added feature people can participate in if they wish too, provided they bring those threads back.

- By not needed we mean its not something Keith should be spending his time creating. A feature that links to a fubared feature. Essentially Keith has 50 cake orders to complete and he's spending his time making the ribbons for the boxes the cakes go into. It isn't a priority. It's a purely aesthetic feature and built on rocky foundations as is.

This can be used more than just for roleplaying such as HA contests. C: I think this update is pretty neat, especially if someone has more than one outfit they want to use regularly.

Personally, I can't really see myself using this feature too much, but I'm sure there are many who are very thankful for it. Nice work team. I like the new updates and such, I think that you are definitely catering to everyones wants and needs

I must say I agree with those that have said that while this is a cute idea, it's really unnecessary right now

I know I am not the only veteran player that is frustrated with how scatterbrained staff seems to be with regard to what gets worked on. There is already a handful of projects "in the works" (cult revamp, forum revamp, achievement page revamp, wardrobe revamp) that still need attention and instead of making it so Group Pings actually work or searching for achievements actually works, something brand new is added instead... and even THAT isn't working properly.

Does anyone on staff even play anymore? Do any of the programmers try to get achievements, or change their avatar's clothing on a regular basis? Why does it seem like staff just doesn't get what the playerbase wants out of the site?

^This is how it's showing up for me. I have saved outfits in my Wardrobe however there they are broken images now as well.

Can't say I'm impressed, needless new feature that doesn't even work, I'd strongly prefer to see staff work on important stuff...

I am at a complete loss to understand that, but why have the avatars now shrunk again?

I also can only see broken images for the people not using their default avatar.

This is a feature that I personally don't regard as necessary at all, but if the roleplaying crowd likes it, why not.

However, I think we might need to remind staff to the Everything is broken, lets revamp something else thread again. Still valid. Maybe more than ever.

Also, in regards to this:

  • only see my default avatar, then 5 broken images
  • I clicked on the "choose outfit" button again, thinking it would close/remove the avatars, but instead, it showed ANOTHER row. So now I have: Default - 5 broken images - Default - 5 broken images.

Maybe we need an extra thread: Everything is broken, lets revamp something else and break that too!

Exactly this. I hate sounding ungrateful because I know the staff works hard but...why this and why now?

How can you put up a counter for donations on the front page of the site and then not even use the money on areas of the site that a majority of people are frustrated with. This makes zero logical sense to me.

I... wow. Right now the only thing I can muster is that I don't feel this was needed at all. There are a ton of other things out there that are in dire need of being fixed. If I want to change my avatar I can go into my wardrobe and change it. Why was this really needed right now?

I will wait at least a month before I check out this new feature. Thank you.

I think the post button should be before preview. At least it would be alphabetically correct.

@ Buttercream Oh, believe me I know what you guys are complaining about because there's a ton of the same complaints. I don't think it matters since it seems like it was a quick thing. People just like to complain.

Love it though when people think I don't understand why they're complaining just because I don't agree.

I will love you forever if you trade me:

I hate to think this might sound ungrateful, I really do, but I have to agree with what seems like the majority of users chiming in. I appreciate the work that everyone on staff is putting into the site because I know it takes a lot of time and effort. I also love the fact that the users are being kept up to date via the ping group, I think that's amazing.

That said, there are so many parts of the site that affect a much larger percentage of players that I think need more work. Everyone's made pretty good points about what those things are, chiefly the achievement system and I'd like to point out that, relatedly, the Blue Building is still not counting achievements and allowing users who have met the requirements in. The forums themselves aren't working 100% either, so it feels to a lot of users like this new feature is being added to a broken system. And now the new feature isn't working correctly (as all new features must, I know, go through their own debugging. The point still stands.)

I'm genuinely happy for the role-playing users of Subeta and I can see how this feature might be fun and helpful to them, but it feels like work is being put toward tasks that the workers want to do rather than what needs to be done. That may or may not be true and we don't know who's directing the labor where, but what we're getting at is this: All the time and effort the staff is so diligently putting in would be much better used and, I'd wager, better appreciated if it were put toward the major issues that have been languishing while users clamor for a solution.

And again: Thank you to ALL the staff for all the work that you are doing, please don't mistake frustration for ungratefulness. We do appreciate your work, we just wish it were put toward making the car run better instead of adding a really cool spoiler (to use a hastily constructed metaphor.)
