OKAY so! A while back, I had this idea to open a Patreon. I was super interested in offering tutorials, walkthroughs, streams, raffles per tier etc. Unfortunately this did not happen, because Patreon is an American company, and I would’ve had to pay a 30% foreigner tax + declare the amount at my Canadian government (which really, made the whole thing very complicated and costly) so I abandoned it.

However, I keep getting mails about my stuff. I will not be doing consistent tutorials, because this is something that was really tied to Patreon support and income (and I can’t afford to spend several dozens of hours on elaborating tutorials with absolutely nothing back when I have bills to pay, im sorry qq ) buuuut I’d be very interested in knowing what kind of tutorials you’d be interested in!

After I finish the commissions in late November, I will be taking a small break of designs. I’ll sell a few, but mostly I’ll be tackling on learning how to draw illustrations that don’t look like donkeys-meet-giraffe-meet-bicycle. I could also use this time to make maybe a few tutorials, based off people’s interests (colors, coherence, shading, flow etc.) So let me know what you’d like to see!

[small]Note: I’m super comfortable with tutorials on how to shade in general, but I’d rather avoid the ‘teach me how YOU draw hair’ because it’s been my style for years and let’s face it, I don’t really want people to start drawing hair exactly like me (where’s the fun in this!)[/small]

they've gotten rather mild with denials in the past year or two. Some of the things they accept now, would've never been accepted when I started. I'm not sure it's really a good thing, but I suppose it does give a larger array of style lol

what kind of shading? Hair, clothes, accessories? ;o I'll be making one on cell-shading in general for sure though!

Hair would be my preference but honestly anything XD The concept of shading as a whole escapes me!

alright! I'm trying to think of a way to build a tutorial on how to draw hair, that doesn't simply emulate how 'i' draw hair specifically. I'll figure that out!

do you mean lineart in general? Hair lineart isnt much different from any other type, like clothes or CIs honestly. If you mean shape/flow, that's really up to people's preferences (There are some artists who draw curls in ways I'd never think of, and it's super nice!)

i have trouble making hair look like hair.. or how to draw strands of hair without making it look like a bunch of lines. idk it is hard to explain D:

if you have trouble drawing too many strands, have you tried drawing less maybe?

The issue with drawing too many strands is that it darkens very easily -- it's harder to make any sort of pale color because the lines will, by default, make the whole thing more shadowy!

here's some of my attempted wigs i just can't get any of them to look right D: when i try to draw with less strands, it looks really blocky and not hair-like. i really like how the Penciled In Locks look but i can't figure out how to do it lol
