Bad monkey! xD Playing games when there's writing to be done . . . not that I've got any room to judge given that I wound up playing board games with friends all afternoon, LOL.

- I know! But I found my notebook, and I'll be able to either take it and write more, or transcribe it, either way, it's stepping in the right direction!

Nice! That's a great start! :D I think I'm going to aim for 1k this week--husband surprised me with plans for a weekend trip so writing time is going to be pretty minimal this time around.

- 1000 is a decent goal, better than what I managed to do the past two weeks!

How did everyone do with their writing goals this week? Unfortunately for me, I made a miscalculation and actually had no free evenings last week--oops! I still got out 1/4 of the sizable timeline/outline. Hopefully you all did better!

My goal for this next week is write more material for my thesis. Because scientific writing takes quite a bit more time than creative writing, so I'm going to make the small goal of 500 words toward the introduction section of the first chapter.

- I too didn't meet my goal, but I did write about 300 words, which is 300 more than I wrote last week!

I didn't do very well =/ turned out I had a bit of a hectic week and a dry imagination. I managed to get a good 1k words, but not enough to finish my prologue :( My goal for this week is again to finish that prologue. It's just something that seriously has to get done.

- Uh oh! At least we all got a little done. Hopefully we'll get into gear next week!

This week was total FAIL for me. ;'( I had it all planned out so I could write while on my trip over the weekend and then my husband vetoed computer access for the whole thing (he worries I'm a computer addict, lol) and then that was followed by day of feeling all "dur" and semi-drugged recovering from the trip. End result, even with a lowered goal I still fail for this week. But it does double my resolve to be good and focus on getting to where I want to be for next week so hopefully that will work? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

- Boo computer blocked! lol. I think my goal is still gonna be 1000, until I reach that I will not be satisfied!! I should actually have the weekend this weekend to work on it, unlike last weekend.

- Things always take me more words to write than I think they will. I'm about 3000 words into re-writing the 5000 words I didn't like, and I'm not anywhere close to the halfway point in terms of events that happened in the original.

Ditto. I always seem to have more to write than I think. I made some sort of outline before writing this prologue but I somehow ended up with twice as many events in the text version than in my original plan x_x I have trouble anticipating how much my mind will come up with xD

- I know right?? And every time I introduce a character, I love them so much I try to find ways to work them back into the story, which makes for even more writing!

Hey all! I just joined but this is a great idea as I'm bad at keeping up with my writing so I have amassed a collection of unfinished stories on my computer and many more ideas on my ipod. lol. As it is Tuesday I'll shot for 1500 this week and see if I can make it. :D So excited.

Haha yeah I love characters way too much. I never want to use them just once. They always work their way back into the story somehow lol

- Yeah, and the reason I'm re-writing this particular section is cus I hated the character that I just brought in. The plan was always for him to get killed, but now that I don't hate him, it's gonna be really hard!

Gah I know the feeling. I get attached to my characters and I hate to kill them off. People have told me I'm pretty good at writing death scenes but I always feel a bit uneasy doing it. My main characters rarely die in my stories lol

- I've never really written a death scene. This story I'm writing now is the first story I've really written that wasn't for school.
