I understand. I really do. It's frustrating all around. At the same time, we all reserve our rights to rants. Even if it's two pages long. -eyes post- My apologies for major rants. He knew I felt really shitty about this particular one, and this item is generally for him as well. XP I'm glad you'll be keeping a slot.
Thank you. :3
I had it that way originally, but I scrapped it because it would have layering problems in the end that I did not like, and still don't like.
I'm going to try everything I can to keep him in front of the avatar. As I said above, wrapping him around makes horrible layering problems.
At any rate, as well...I'll probably be giving back the CSC before the week shut down as I might not be able to make all the changes before then. At the moment...should be going to bed soon, so I'll let you all know tomorrow evening.
My CW was critized and denied for an artwise reason, too. I really don't want to complain or start a discussion here, but I was asked to move one of my eyes or tilt the head of my Gryphon to make it look more 'better'. I am not sure. While I appreciate such critism and help, it was really annoying to 'fix', since I didn't ask for such a critism and the people who applied for a slot appearenly didn't mind the 'error'.
Since I like how the dragon looks, I asked for a slot. Concerning the undershading issue; it comes with the bright color of the dragon. Sure, shadow could be added to form more scales or something like that, but I am not sure how it would improve the overal dragon. For the confusing body part, it's probably meant around the back/tail area. Due the lack of place, it draws a strange curve around that area and the leg/tail is placed weirdly, but then again, I don't mind.. As for the Subeta standards; there are a lot of items from the Subeta artists which lack shadow, proper lineart or have knacks with the perspective. There is no offense intended here; but denying CWs for such a subjective reason, is what I consider partly unfair.
I understand when CWs are denied for quality reasons because they won't fit the Subeta standards, but I have to say, even the Subeta artists don't seem to stay with the Subeta standards all the time. Appearently there are a few guidelines to follow; but forcing them on the userbase this way.. I don't know.
I hope with the future changes it's easier for the staff to describe the reason of rejection more properly. I know it would take up more time, but we're paying 50$ for that stuff, so I'd appreciate it when you put the time into these items we paid you to. Abd 50$ doesn't equal "oh well, there's pillow shading somewhere and it looks weird. Fix it.". Really, not. And then you limit the item submissions to 10 a piece or less in the future. It really leaves me wondering..
That being said, don't give up on this item. Maybe look at the tail/leg area once more. I think the pillow shading issue is around the front leg/belly area. I wouldn't change the pose of the dragon, and please don't move it behind the avatar. :< Just try to look over these area I mentioned because I think these are the ones with the issue here.
I'll hang onto my slot. Maybe, if you don't mind some suggestions, i would add some shades on this places: click And maybe make the body part in the middle slightly darker? At the moment its the same color like the head, but its much farer away than the head, so the color should be maybe a little darker? Also, i'm pretty sure if you change those things a little and are able to "prove" why it has to looks like that, they won't make a huge fuss out of it. Its a chinese dragon and they have super long bodies, bending it down a lot would destroy the whole look of it. Also, the coloration is like this by purpose and fits the standards. I don't think you'll have to make blatant changes. Just keep a cool head and see if they might have a point and if you don't think so, talk to them and explain it. You can't put it behind the ha just because of its body shape - it supposed to sit in front. =)
I re-did the shading and I did add shading in some of the areas you pointed out already, so I'll try out a couple of the other ones that I hadn't changed yet to see how it feels.
I did file a ticket, and all they could tell me further was that the body looks squished. -sighs- That's not the body that needs to be changed, but....just...squished.
Edit: Soooo pinged the wrong person at first. wtf.
Squished? Well, it's hard to fit a Chinese dragon in these few pixels, of course it would look a bit squished.. But oh well, keep up working on it.
I'mma trying! I just don't want to use too many of my chances, so I'm trying to make as many changes as I can now and take my time on it. I still want to keep it squiggly, I personally think it flows and (who this item is for} Wants to keep it that way too.
I was wondering...if perhaps I mad him a tad bit smaller, if it might look better...
Edit: Also, wanted to say, I agree with this: "As for the Subeta standards; there are a lot of items from the Subeta artists which lack shadow, proper lineart or have knacks with the perspective."
As I've been working on my items, I've been looking at subeta items for guidance, but even then...I have a hard time seeing three to five layers of shading on some items. It doesn't mean these items suck, though. They look perfectly fine, AND some probably do have three to five layers of shading, but...once you resize it so small...you just can't tell very well.
Anyway....Like you said, don't want to start a whole large discussion here. XP
Thank you for tolerating my rant gais. o.o;;;
I agree, it just seems kinda mean to throw out generics like they don't care that they're dealing with a person with feelings that's trying their best on the other side. It kinda deters me from wanting to even attempt the wig and glasses I want to do eventually when I'm done with a couple of commissions I'm working on. But I want that particular hair style and I don't think it's on the site (pretty sure the glasses aren't, but they're going to be a challenge if I can even do them.)
And yes, I do want it kept squiggly, it's supposed to resemble a Chinese dragon and that's...how they look. :I And it looks less mushed than the in my opinion, even though I like that item, personally but...I like dragons so yeah. :'D
In an unrelated note: I'd appreciate it very much if my job site would stop trying to destroy itself (and in the process start the zombie apocalypse.) I think the same light pole that had the wire come loose this morning was the same pole the raccoon bbq'd itself on. D: My job site = The Titanic, we're either having problems with water, or electricity. flails Oh well, hour of overtime! Yay! :D
Since you gave me some really awesome advice, I'm seeking some more from you. o: X
I feel...starting to look better...but it needs...something. It especially needs (I think) some more shading where the body curves behind him on the right side...but I'm not sure how. Any suggestions? Anything else I need to change or add? Feel free to red pen it away. o: Seriously. I'll give you a discount for the item, or a further item...or I'll just give you something for your work.
Edit: Here's the resized version too... X
Haha, don't need to give me anything. xD Lemme see.. i think the color of the shade itself is a little too dark now. The difference between basic color and shade is pretty huge, so maybe make it just a little lighter? But i think everything else looks quit good now For the body itself, i'd do this: click I made the part i marked with an arrow slightly darker than the head. Since its bend to the side there is not the same light on all bodyparts. There is more light on the tail and head but less on the body. The darker you draw this area the more obvious the circular form. And i'd maybe draw a lighter shade around the scales on the tummy, but thats just a personal preference. =)
Pfft. Well, you have no say in anything. You've been a humungous help in making it look better. P: And if these changes help it get accepted...I'll worship you. XD
I'll change that stuffs at work and resubmit it tonight to give it one last chance before the shutdown, so then maybe if it gets denied again I can work on it during that week.
Edit:
All right. I went ahead and submitted the new image before the shut down. A big huge thanks to who gave me some ideas to hopefully make it so it won't look "squished" or "confusing".

I'm still going to put up a pretty big fight to keep him in front, mostly because of layering issues that I dislike. The only other idea I have after this is to perhaps make him smaller in size. If not, then I'll be scrapping him completely probably. :/
If he gets denied again during the shutdown, I'll put your CSC into trades, and you can offer and get it back. I'll then just pay out of pocket for any future submits of the dragon and once it's approved (hopefully), I'll set up trades with the item.
As always, if at any time you don't like the changes, please tell me. I'll get your CSC back/take you off the slots etc etc.
Thank you for your patience. <3
Thank you. :3
Just wanted to let you know, I changed the trade so you can get the item right away once you offer. It's Lot . Thanks.
Gotta say...all your work is just amazing...Love my wolf :)

of the two you have open I am having trouble deciding between the two of them

Thanks! I have the CSC (darn echeck took an extra day to process) and I'll go buy it right now. I really appreciate it, thanks again!
Haha, thanks. Well, you have some time since things are shut down right now.
It's fine. Thanks!
i am also waiting on the csc but one of those items i am so getting
Sp vouchers [tot=aries][tot=pyritefraxure]
:3 Okies. Thanks!
Hey gais. Guess what? If I had learned how to read correctly, you'd have your Maned Wolf item today! However, since I apparently don't know how to read...I'll...now have to wait until Friday to resubmit. -faceplant- What they had wanted me to fix was the item image, not the overlay. My mind registers 'item' as the actual overlay...and not the item image, so...the shading is going back the way it was with some small nit picks from myself, and I'll fix the item image. But other then that, the response I got makes it sound like everything should be all right once the item image is fixed. :'D I'm so so so sorry for the wait.
