What happened to the rest of the Whovians How did we get here?

Giselle felt guilty for not volunteering to stay behind, after all, she was the bard of the team, yet knew in her heart she would do poorly attempting to imitate Nancy among this all male fan club. She was used to singing and playing various instruments to rowdy drunken tavern patrons, not the huge number of well dressed theater patrons that Nancy drew. Thankful they had someone qualified to temporarily replace Nancy, Giselle had every confidence in both that stayed behind as all spent some brief minutes with hugs and well wishes promising to meet again as soon as possible before quietly following the real Nancy out the side, alley door of the Gearwork Goose. All of Crystania seemed strangely quiet.. possibly due to the excessive number of guards. There was no hope of avoiding them all, yet Nancy didn't even look like Nancy now and her team kept their eyes down appearing as if running a business errand. Quickly glancing at Raw she whispered quietly...

"I know, you are ready but try to look bored not excited."

Giselle sighs deeply and crosses her fingers for luck saying a quick, silent prayer as she straightens her shoulders preparing for anything on their arrival. Raw manages not to attract the attention of any of the numerous guards they pass yet most of the time their trip lead them through back alleys and past kitchens preparing meals for the wealthy. Kyo and Anasazi snatches a quick snack from a couple of the tables being prepared but Raw, like Giselle was too tense to even think of food. Finally the tunnel Nancy spoke of, a dark and dreary place with a dampness to the old stone walls and moisture on the ground that they carefully navigated as they made their way turning here and there so many times that Giselle was very thankful they didn't have to follow a drawing. Holding hands so not to get lost, they made a silent chain as they all anticipated the end of the tunnel. The team along with Nancy kept to their own thoughts, awaiting what was to come.

The fight begins

But what is this? Traitors were in their midst! Rats, guards, a Technomancer and a sibling of OneTwo?? Giselle hoped that Haneway and Clara remained safe at the tavern, because this might be the end for the rest of them. She pulls out her flute and begins to play a strange tune, haunting and quiet. Raw, in her excitement squees, "I finally get to stab things!" and attacks the technomancer, her movement so fast he has problems responding. He manages to pull out a strange U shaped device, which hums, and just as Raw's knife was about to penetrate his chest, it gets sucked away with a CLANG. "What is this?!" she screams. "You stop me from stabbing??" As fast as lightning, her foot spins up and around, hitting the technomancer square in the jaw. He reels for a second then crumples to the ground. She grabs the knife with the magnet still attached, and plunges it into his hand, twisting. "See what sorcery you can do with your hand now, magician!"

Nancy surprisingly shows preparedness, pulling out a small dagger hidden in her hand, and just as a guard reaches out, he then jumps back in surprise, wounded enough to run away...the fight suddenly gone from him. She laughs that such a large man was defeated by a little cut. "And they say women are the weaker sex! C'mon boys" she taunts the other guards. Meanwhile, Kyo uses her ranger stealth skills to sneak around in back of the other two. A quick kick to the back of the knees brings down the first, and while the second is distracted by the crying "owie, owie, owie, who kicked me??" Nancy runs up and holds her knife to his throat. "You don't really feel like fighting any more, do you?" The guard shakes his head No. "And you'd really like to go home now, right?" The guard nods. "Then do so." and he runs off, and Kyo ties up the one on the ground.

Meanwhile, Giselle's music has taken effect. The rats abruptly halt their advance and turn around to dart back where they came from, all at the rhythm of the flute, it's notes pure and clear. Once they're gone, Anasazi lays down a smelly powder in a big circle around them. "That should keep those vermin away. And, if the guards decide to come back, it's surprisingly flammable, hehehe."

No longer distracted by their own fights, the companions notice metal bits flying in the air around both cats, who are fighting tooth and metal claw. "We need to help him!" says Kyo. "But I can't hurt a cat -- how do we do this?"

Kyo watches the two cats fighting with growing despair. She knows she should despise Six but as a ranger she is bound to love all animals, even mechanical ones. Kyo checks her bag for anything that could stop the battling. She was just about the give up when she finds Tupsy's favourite toy, a bright red ball of yarn. Not having time to wonder whether this would work she threw the ball in the air towards the pair. OneTwo fortunately had his back to Kyo so he didn't see the yarn arching towards him but Six certainly did. His kitty impulses overcoming his senses, he ignored his opponent as he reached for the yarn. While Six was distracted OneTwo managed to strike the final blow, knocking Six to the floor in a senseless slump. With a swift glance at each other and a nod of understanding, the group moves in to pull OneTwo to safety as the other cat lays wounded in the darkening tunnel. Running as fast as they can, they arrive at the pirates more bedraggled and out of breath then wished yet all alive for the moment.

Cosmic Moon faces an army inside the tunnels

“Way to go OneToo” Kayara says after his spitting.

OneToo looks up at them, his face angry, if they hadn’t known about his past with Six, then at least they would have been able to guess OneToo hates him, now with them knowing about the past, all they could do was understand his feelings towards Six.

With Six talking to OneToo and the guards apparently listening to Six, no one really seems to watch Kayara, Kenny, Ilaera and Nancy at the moment.

“Those guards sure do their work well” Ilaera whispers to Kenny with a grin on her face, getting only a small smile back in return. Out of the corner of her eyes Ilaera sees Kayara is doing some of her magic. She’s not exactly sure what Kayara is doing, but to make sure Kayara can do just whatever it is she wants to do, Ilaera stops looking at her, to avoid any suspicion of her friend.

Kayara, being unnoticed by the guards is searching some of the pockets from the guards standing closest to her. She lets her hand slip in to try and see if there’s anything she could maybe use. She had already searched through at least five pockets when in the sixth she finds a little book, by the looks of the book it seems to contain letters. Kayara grabs the book and slips it in one of her own pockets.

In the meantime Kenny discusses with Ilaera what they can possibly do now. “One thing is certain” Ilaera says softly. “We can’t get out of this easily”. “We could maybe try and bribe a couple of the guards” Kenny whispers back to her.

Kenny goes around in his pockets, reaching out for some of the coins he has had in there for a while, then turns over towards one of the guards to try and bribe him with the coins. Before he can finish his sentence, the guard spits on the ground. “You think I’m a fool?” the guard asks angrily. Kenny turns around to Ilaera again, putting the coins back in his pocket. “Well, that didn’t go so well.

While making her way back to her friends, Kayara walks past one of the other guards, he doesn’t seem the brightest of them and then suddenly a plan starts to form itself in her mind. She grabs the book out of her own pocket and let it slip into the pocket of one of the other guards, making sure it’s a guard that’s standing close to the one she stole the book from. Then she walks over to Ilaera and Kenny.

“What did you do” Ilaera asks softly

“Maybe a way for us to escape all of this” Kayara whispers back. “Can you make them doubt each other maybe” she continues whispering.

“Doubt each other” Kenny asks her as quietly as he can.

“Yes, you know what I mean” Kayara says, a little bit too loud, making sure all the guards and Six look at her. Kenny and Ilaera are not sure if she was planning on talking so loud and they’re not sure if they should be happy about it too, by now they had the attention of every single guard in the tunnel.

Ilaera looked at Six and saw a frown (at least that’s what she thought it was) on his head. She knew that meant trouble for them.

“No, I really don’t know what you mean” Six replies to that, still with the frown on his head.

“You know” Ilaera said out loud. “I admire you for being such a close group, working so well together and apparently working well for the same cause. Normally you see that with a group this large there’s always at least one traitor in the group. But here you all are, working together and even us bribing you with our money doesn’t work”

The members of cosmic moon hear whispering sounds around them, coming from the guards.

“There actually might be someone in this group too and you just didn’t notice it yet, but then again, how would I know, it’s not like I met you before” Ilaera says with a grin.

Out of the corner of her eyes she sees how some of the guards are actually reaching for their pockets. She also sees how Six is coming towards her, she knows she has to act quickly to make them even more suspicious about each other.

With Ilaera distracting the guards and Six, Kenny reaches yet again for his pockets. During his travels he has collected several packets of fine powders. Although most of them are ingredients for potions that require time, which they don’t have, there are also some powders in there that are very useable. Saltpeter is one of the powders he has brought with him, which is known for being able to mess up any possible spells that might be casted, even able to cause critical errors once in a while which then results in a spell backfire. Kenny grabs a hold of the potion and throws it into the air, without even being noticed, cause of the confusion Ilaera was creating.

“Hasn’t there been anyone so far that missed something, might be something small, that you just thought you had maybe misplaced somewhere, but from which you were sure you actually didn't” Ilaera says, pausing her speech to the guards right at this point.

The whispering from the guards grows stronger and some of them aren't whispering at all anymore. One of the guards seems to be confused at the moment, stuttering that he in fact had been missing some things during the last couple of days.

“What did you just say” Ilaera said out loud. “You actually did miss some of your belongings?” making sure every single guard surrounding them hears it, making them all grab their belongings from their pockets to check if they still have everything they should.

“Wait!” One of the guards yells right at that point. “I’m missing my book”.

One of the other guards was holding up a book at that exact moment, quite insecure, not knowing how it even got there.

“You, you’re a traitor!” the first guards exclaims, making a run for the second guard to get his book back.

“Oh no, that can’t be” Kayara screams. “You were such a great group together, we couldn’t even bribe you!” with teary eyes, as if she was really shocked by the fact the guards had a thief among them.

Nancy, who was standing next to her also had tears in her eyes. “I would have never imagined there to be a thief among your own allies” she says.

“How can you ever trust each other again!” Ilaera yells.

The women’s cries over the group being torn apart and the group feeling that has shattered, create even more suspicion, hatred and confusion among the guards.

Trying to use this again, Kayara reaches for something in her pocket. A very long time ago she had been given a bracelet with a gem attached to it by a powerful mage she had encountered and saved, the gem could cause confusion to possible opponents she may meet along her travels. All she needed to do was grab the bracelet, speak out the word ‘hypno’ and all of the people surrounding her would forget what they were doing. Right at the moment she begins forming the word, she suddenly sees Kenny in front of her. She then remembers that the spell of the bracelet will work on everyone surrounding her, which includes her friend. With a sigh she puts away her bracelet again. She then walks a bit closer to Kenny and whispers his name. Kenny, who had been watching the fight between the two guards, looks up.

“You don’t happen to have more potions and things, that might help us, with you right” Kayara asks softly

“You know you’re talking to me right” Kenny responds. “I always have my things with me, what can an alchemist do without his special belongings”

“Any chance you could maybe use one to get us out of here?” Ilaera asks him.

“No need to even use one of the potions, would maybe take too long too” Kenny responds to her. “But I did keep the smoke ball you have given me” he continues with a wink.

Ilaera’s memories take her back to when she had ‘given’ him the smoke ball. It had been her plan for it to go off, as a little prank to show him she in fact can look out for herself, but that never happened since the smoke ball was discovered by Kenny long before it could even go off and Kenny had said he would keep it just in case, since you might never know. Apparently he had kept a hold onto it for a couple of months, since he recovered it from one of his pockets right at that moment.

“Grab each other’s hands” he said softly. ”As soon as this goes off, make sure to stick together and run for it as hard as we can in the direction of the exit” he whispers then.

“Wait!” OneToo says. “Aren’t we going to do anything about Six and the technomancer?”

Kayara looks across the room, where the technomancer seems to talk to himself.

“We might have a problem” Kayara tells her friends. “It seems that he is casting one of his spells” “No problem” Kenny grins. “But we sure need to make our way out of here fast”.

“Not at this moment OneToo” Ilaera says in response to the unanswered question from OneToo “but don’t you worry about that, there’s always tomorrow” she continues with a small wink to him.

Kenny then throws the ball as close to Six he can possibly can and within moments the smoke ball goes off and creates a large cloud of smoke inside the tunnels. The three friends, Nancy and OneToo run as hard as they can, pushing over some of the army rats in the process.

While trying to make their way out of the tunnels, they hear the technomancer indeed casting a spell. Because of the saltpeter Kenny had thrown around earlier, the spell doesn’t form itself correctly and only results in a large bang and a painful scream. The spell must have backfired, hitting either the technomancer itself, Six or one of his guards.

The smoke of the smoke ball makes it impossible for Six and his guards to follow them instantly, given them just enough time to reach the end of the tunnel. “What will happen when we reach the end of the tunnel” Kayara screams to her friends while running.

“No need to think about that now” Ilaera yells back. “Just run!” While running herself, she tries to look behind them and sees that Six is trying to follow them into the tunnel, being hindered by the smoke. “ Looks like the spell that was cast, hasn’t hit Six, since he seems to be alright” she yells to the others.

A minute of five later they seem to have reached the end of this tunnel with a small staircase at the end of it.

“What about Six and the technomancer?” OneToo asks them.

“We’ll just leave them for the time being” Kenny responds to him. “But don’t you worry, we’ll get to him again eventually”

Raider’s Folly and the Tunnel of Terror please note, we choose the quote method to help lessen confusion with shifting point of views

Quote by Die

Die was relieved that he skipped ‘Nancy Duty’ as he called it. Dressing in drag was not exactly his idea of fun (even if his legs would look good in a skirt and heels). Instead he followed the real Nancy with his comrades, Paddy, Reaper, and OneToo, leaving Raven behind to woo the screaming crowd.
He knew, of course, that everything seemed to be going far too easily. It wasn’t that he wanted gloom and doom but he was also a realist. Sure enough they were confronted by another metallic cat, a technomancer (good thing they had one of their own), a few guards who looked like the lights went out long ago and- rats. Of all things it had to be rats.
Glancing around with a frown he loosened his pants, not for a peep show but so he could reach the slim belt that moulded to his skin and had remained hidden all this time. Die might not like fighting but that didn’t mean he did not bring his own ‘weapons’ so to speak. Not much but one never knew when a bit of chemical boom-boom might be needed.
Edging closer to his group he snorts softly. “Someone remind me to stick a cockroach in Raven’s pants later,” he muttered, breaking the tension a little. Right, okay, they could do this.
“Reaper, get that damn screwdriver off Paddy, you will need to take out old fish face over there and besides what he is holding I don’t see any blasted machines in this tunnel.” Yes, a tunnel so he hoped he did not need to tell Paddy not to set loose that freakin’ bug yet or they would all be out for the count.

Quote by Reaper

Reaper nodded at Die and bumped Paddy&;s shoulder gently with her own. She wiggled her fingers and to the guards watching them, it must have seemed like her and Paddy have linked hands...er...paws...hands yeah, for comfort. She gently squeezed Paddy&;s hand in her own before pulling away, controlling her face so she didn&;t give away that the sonic screwdriver was just passed to her.

She thought she could manipulate some of the moisture in the air now to possibly cause a flash-bang effect - her traditional magic didn&;t work on this side of the portal, but she could feel power stirring inside just the same. She hoped that she understood how this screwdriver worked, as she&;d probably only get one shot to temporarily blind their foes and they definitely won&;t give her a second chance to stand there uninterrupted.
She knew her team would get it when she said "eyes" - but hopefully Nancy and OneToo catch on as well.

Quote by Die

It was going to take teamwork. And maybe a shit load of luck. He didn’t focus too much on the girls, though he was keeping an eye on the situation, kicking out hastily at a rat that got a bit too close. That was just- all kinds of gross and disgusting.
He heard the call, one simple word, “eyes” and quickly slammed them shut. He could see the light behind his closed lids, something bright like the sun with a small whoofing bang and an odd smell that made him think of rotten eggs.
Really?
Ugh. Waiting until the light faded he snapped his eyes open to see most of the other party staggering around half blind. “Good girl,” he muttered, dancing through a few of the stumbling rats and jerking what looked to be a sort of billy club off one of the guards. This was studded though and he took a moment to admire it, ducking just in time to avoid a clumbsy swing aimed at his head.
“Not the hair!” Did they know how difficult it was to manage? Glancing over his shoulder quickly he tried to see how the girls were faring.

Quote by Reaper

Reaper popped her eyes open and looked around - it seemed like her group got it together and understood her warning. She squinted against the lingering glare and shook a dazed rat off of her shoe. She glanced to the right and saw Die snatch one of the clubs away from a guard and she started to roll her eyes about the Alchemist trying to fight with it before she remembered they all needed to fight. She looked to the left and tilted her head in confusion...where the hell had Paddy gone? She was right there when the light-bang went off (and thank god that worked, she didn&;t know what this screwdriver was really for but she was grateful it obeyed her request). Shaking her head she got herself back on track. She couldn&;t see where the Technomancer had gone for the moment, but she did see that big ass metal cat - and she knew her skills could at least help her with that.

She started marching towards the still slightly dazed cat, intending to use some of her magic to start drying up the oil in his gears when she heard an eerie howl coming through the tunnel. Reaper stopped dead, locked eyes with Die, and said quiet loudly in the suddenly quiet space, "Oh shit."

Quote by Paddy

Paddy heard the shout of "eyes" and clamped her eyes tightly shut. She could feel a tingling in her toes, and backed away slightly from the group, screwing her eyes tighter still as the flash of light faded away, knowing exactly what would come next.

Why did it have to be this uncomfortable to turn into a werewolf? You&;d think that growing a bit more fur, and changing shape slightly would be a little less painful. Resisting the temptation to scream, she ducked out of sight for a few moments - it wouldn&;t do to let Die see her mid-change, as none of her clothes would fit once she&;d fully turned.

Looking at her paws, she waited for her claws to finish growing to full werewolf-length, and let out a satisfied howl. It echoed through the tunnel, and by the smell of fearful rodents wafting towards her, thankfully scared the rats. Rats? Not the best snack for a wolf, but a hungry werewolf didn&;t mind a few feral rodents for a small snack. Pity there wasn&;t any ketchup around, but it&;d have to do.

Quote by Die

Die preferred his chemicals and complex math and- well, anything but fighting and getting his hands dirty in such a way. He took quick note that Paddy was gone as well but he had time to really do anything about it as he spun to avoid another aim for his precious head. Glaring he hefted the small club and swung, hitting the guard who was stumbling after him in the knee. His arm felt jolted from its socket and he heard a howl.
It took him a moment to realize it wasn&;t the whimpering guard who was now sitting and nursing his knee. It came from back in the tunnel.
&;Oh shit,&; he heard Reaper exclaim.
Damn right. "Um, I hope to the gods of everything she is house trained. And muzzled, a muzzle would be good." Paddy had just gone big doggy on them. BIG doggy.

Quote by Paddy
Running around the corner, she stopped in her tracks at the sight of two warrior-like people, a strange woman with cat ears (despite her eagerness for food, there was just enough human left in her, to realise that chasing Nancy might not be a hot idea), a small metallic cat that smelt friendly (that must be OneTwo), three guards, some strange kind of technomancer, a metallic battle cat that definitely smelt unfriendly and an army of rats.... rats?? Licking her lips, she noticed the person standing in front of her was making eye contact. Staring directly at her, she sniffed the air and recognised the lingering aroma of rotten eggs. That had to be Reaper - highly skilled at magic, but sometimes the scents of her spells lingered for just a while longer than necessary.

Ignoring the cat ears & friendly cat, she leapt past Reaper, giving her a friendly nudge on the shoulder, and charged towards the rats, only to find the unfriendly metallic cat blocking her path. "Stupid creature," she thought, lifting it up in her huge paws. Giving it a quick sniff, she confirmed it definitely wasn&;t OneTwo, this cat smelt like it hadn&;t oiled any of its mechanisms for a while, which was daft for a battle cat. Opening her mouth as wide as she could, she clamped down, biting its head clean off.

Spitting out the metal, Paddy realised she still needed to find those darn rats, if she was going to satisfy her hunger. A werewolf might be scary, but a hungry werewolf is not something you want to be trapped in a tunnel alongside. She looked around the tunnel, spotted Reaper fighting the Technomancer, Die felling the remaining guard, and spotted the rats blocking the tunnel ahead of them. Drooling slightly in anticipation of a good snack, she charged forwards, snatching up the first rat in her mouth, and devouring it in one.

Turning around, she saw the other person looking rather pale. Chuckling to herself, she realised that had to be Die - he&;d never met her as a werewolf before, and by the look on his face, he was hoping he&;d never have to witness that again.

Quote by Reaper

Reaper turned slowly and saw that Paddy had shifted on them. She thought they&;d have at least made it through the tunnels first. Paddy&;s yellow eyes were shining and she was snarling as she stared at Reaper.
"Good girl, Paddy, good girl," Reaper said softly while she edged towards the side. She knew Paddy was still in there, had seen her transform before and knew that part of her would recognize her team...she hoped. Paddy started moving forward and it took almost all of Reaper&;s nerve not to turn and run - she knew that would be very very bad. Instead she took a deep breath and kept up her eye contact, willing Paddy to recognize her.

With a growling chuff, Paddy charged and Reaper stiffened, but she didn&;t need to worry - the werewolf merely banged into her on her way back into the fray. Paddy snatched up the large mechacat in her large paw and bit it&;s head clean off.

Reaper swallowed a little harder than normal, shook herself, and looked around. Since Paddy took care of the mechanical monstrosity, she would need to find a new target. She rubbed her shoulder and thought she caught a glimpse of the Technomancer lurking in the shadows across the tunnel from her. He was better skilled on this side of the portal, but Reaper thought she might be able to catch him off guard if she was quick.

Quote by Die

Die didn’t want to see a Paddy with large claws and giant teeth. It would seem he had little choice though the sudden pain in his leg had him yelping and shaking off the damn rat that had bit him on the calf.
There was no time to stare, the two remaining guards were hemming him in, rats at his feet that were suddenly squeaking in warning with a few running off. He ducked the sword aimed for his- ear? Where the hell did Six get these cretins anyway? The sword made a grating sound on the tunnel wall that sounded very much like the crunch of metal.
Metal- “Tell me she didn’t rip off OneToo&;s head!” He called then did something no man should ever do to another, kicked out at the lumbering hulk and clipped him right in his hulking privates.
He dropped like a stone.
That had to hurt. About as much as the same rat clamping down on his leg again. Hissing he kicked out but the bastard hung on, then hopped on one foot, arms flailing wildly as he cursed and stumbled over the moaning man he had walloped in the nuts. He went down hard, the billy club flying from his hand and hitting the remaining guard smack in the middle of his forehead. The man swayed then slowly toppled forward, just missing the alchemist as he crab-walked backwards into the wall.
He stared at the chaos with wide eyes then scowled. "I meant to do that." Now where were the others?

Quote by Reaper

"Not OneToo - don&;t worry," Reaper yelled to Die as she jogged towards the Technomancer, dodging rats. Ugh, these tunnels were crawling with them and it was absolutely disgusting. So much for the element of surprise. He was winding something up, she could see it in the set of his shoulders and the slight movements of his mouth. Reaper took a deep breath and charged, racing across the tunnel at the Technomancer.
She was almost there when she saw him quirk a smile at her and start to raise his hand. She had a split second before he unleashed something at them, and all she could think about were her friends, caught up in their own battles, so she acted on instinct and jumped, tackling him to the floor. He seemed startled, expecting her to have used magic instead, and before she knew what she was doing she had cocked her fist back and rammed it into his nose.
"Owwwwww," she howled, shaking her fist. That hurt a lot more than she expected, but at least it stopped whatever spell was coming out of his mouth. She grabbed him by the hair while he laid there, moaning, and banged his head into the ground a few times for good measure. That should keep him knocked out for the moment. She glanced around and saw Die still struggling with the last guard - but overall they seemed to have somehow managed without their warrior - although she was sure if they&;d have had more time they probably could have sorted this out without hurting themselves quite so much.

Quote by Die

‘Not OneToo - don&;t worry.’
Ha, easier said than done. It was hard not to worry when he was unsure if Paddy would know who they were. Grimacing he finally pushed himself to his feet, his quick gaze scanning the area. He spied Reaper standing over a body and felt a twinge of respect. Then Paddy was- she was- Oh. My. Gods. She was eating a rat.

Feeling his stomach turn he limped a few feet and reached down to scoop up OneToo, who was hissing at the pieces of Six, into his arms. Nancy was not far, apparently those boots of hers could do some damage to little bodies. He shoved the metal cat into her arms then pushed her down the tunnel where they needed to go.
“Get going, we will be right behind you,” he ordered, bracing himself on the wall as he started back for Reaper. The rats seemed to be dispersing, not that he blamed them. Who wanted to be a wolf snack? “Hey Reaper, do you think you can get Paddy to follow? We need to get out of here before we draw more people.”

Or they could try to knock her out and drag her but nope, he didn’t really want to fuss with those claws and teeth.

Quote by Reaper

Reaper looked at Die, then at Paddy, then back at Die.
"Oh yeah, &;Reaper get her&;, uh huh - not asking the moon or anything are we?" She mumbled at him with a sigh. She rolled her eyes at him and then turned towards where Paddy was happily chomping away on a rat. Swallowing against the gagging sensation she rummaged around in her pouch for something that would possibly distract the beastly version of her favourite vagabond. She realized she had nothing helpful and blew a loose strand of hair out of her face before edging closer to the werewolf.
"Pa-" she choked out before clearing her throat and trying again, "Paddy. Hey...hey, Paddy. I know you&;re in there somewhere, can you hear me?"

The werewolf dropped the rat and ran a paw along her muzzle, wiping away most of the blood, before tilting her head sideways and glancing at Reaper.

"Oh good, you can hear me. Hopefully you still know who I am," Reaper muttered to herself before addressing the wolf again. "We&;ve got to go - you did really really well, but we have to go now.
Aicha, Isze, Leislyn, Teislyn, Donner and OneTwo had been following closely behind Nancy when the performer abruptly stopped and motioned for them to be silent. Donner instinctively hunkered when he caught an unusual scent. Isze fell to her natural position at the back of the group and kept her eye on Donner. She had felt she should offer some comforting comment to him because of some of the troubles he seemed to be having with his mate. He seemed to have cheered up a little once in the tunnel, but Kitcher's vicious moodiness had obviously had a severe effect on the young male. Between Donner's silliness and Kitcher's new temperamental streak, they were both acting like children, children who would pout rather than talk to each other! Maybe a brief break from each other would help them calm down. As Donner pulled up, Isze did too. Donner was sniffing, but Isze listened. The sound of air through the tunnels, augmented with drips and sloshes, had changed. Something else was here, something moving...

Nancy's precaution proved futile however, they soon found that they had company. When the Rogues realized that they had been betrayed by Lucy and that their 'company' were in fact enemies, they took up defensive positions in the tunnel. Donner stood with the rest of his companions and tried his best to hide any fear or emotion.

Aicha turned to him with a sneer and quipped, "Oh look Donner...relatives of yours?" she pointed to the rat hoard.

Donner didn't move, but his lip twitched a bit. "Um..." was all that he was able to mutter.

Aicha couldn't help but make another jab, "Ha! All you little vermin are so....Oh God! What is that?" She held her nose.

Teislyn shot her hand to her nose and mouth and gagged, "Oh Pew! Donner! Was that you?"

Donner remained motionless, "Um..." Nancy turned and looked confused at the others.

OneTwo sniffed the air, "I find the new odor rather pleasant, like lollipops and roses. But, my olfactory circuits have been a bit off since my repair, so I could be wrong. You could smell like decomposing, maggot-infested lollipops and festering roses for all I know."

Leislyn coughed and waved her hand in front of her face, "Holy Crap Donner! Why would you do that?"

Donner shrugged his shoulders, "Vell, I vas maybe marking mine territory. Vat? It's vat ve little creatures ist doink just before a fight don't you know!"

Isze kept her eyes riveted on the enemy, "Seriously? Cause it smells like you pooped your pants." She wasn't joining in on the banter, she was being literal and overly serious.

Donner just nodded affirmative, "Okie dokie, vell, I may haff done a little of that too."

Aicha clicked her tongue and shook her head, "Well then it's established. Nothing HOLY transpired here because it came from Donner."

It was a well timed, but unrehearsed delaying tactic that caught the enemy off guard and gave each of the Rogues time to size up their enemy.

Isze thought it odd that Donner would mark his territory because he was a humanoid and humans didn't do that sort of thing, she'd been raised in a forest after all and only wild animals marked their territory. What was more bizarre was the thought that the weasel-boy had had an 'accident.' Wasn't he properly trained as a toddler? "Are you feeling impaired Donner, you seem to have done more than mark your territory?" she asked, mildly horrified. When he seemed bizarrely nonplussed, Isze shook her head. "I never know what you're saying anyway, half of it is unintelligible." Her mind flicked over to Kitcher before she was able to the comprehend the purpose of his words. Was he trying to distract their enemy? She shifted her weight into a fighting stance, loosened her daggers and peered into the gloom.

Aicha faced off with the Technomancer, each seemed unwilling to make the first move. Her wand had been left behind and she would have to improvise a new weapon. Perhaps she should use the metallic cane that she had chosen on a whim to complete her Nancy-Boy costume. It looked sturdy enough and it had some moving parts on it, perhaps she could channel her magic through it. She wasn't sure, but it was worth a try. Maybe it was also an advantage that she was still in her awful disguise, what if her opponent didn't realize she was a woman? It probably didn't matter much, but Aicha might be able to exploit her disguise somehow.

Aicha was startled from her thoughts by the crackle of the Tachnomancer's weapon charging up and just barely managed to duck the shot of lightning that he fired at her. The Rogues scattered and ducked against the walls of the tunnel out of the way of any further blasts. The Technomancer sneered and fired a succession of rapid shots in Aicha's direction. The mage ducked between the blasts, held her hat firmly on her head with one hand, concentrated on her cane in her other, and willed her magic to fill it with the desired spell. Immediately the cane proved to be too fragile to channel the full force of an offensive spell, by heating up and dissipating her energy. Stifling a curse, she changed her tactics and tried a simpler charm.

“Well, it's now or never,” the mage told herself as she raised the cane up into the path of the next shot.

To her delight, the shield charm she had placed in the cane worked perfectly and deflected the Technomancer's shot directly back at him. The Technomancer was completely unprepared for this and stopped firing out of shock as his own deflected shot slammed into the wall behind him mere inches from his head. Aicha cracked a cheeky grin and laughed. This was going to be fun!

Teislyn couldn't believe what she had heard. "That stupid girl Lucy, I'd like to slap her," she thought as she sized up the group in front of them. "I'm not one for rats," she told Donner, who was beside her on the left, "I'll give it a go with those three burly guys there. They don't seem… too difficult." She had observed that when they spoke their attention seemed to waiver from time to time. She quickly formulated a plan and then smiled mischeviously. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the others taking up defensive positions and preparing to fight. She turned her full attention towards the three big guards. She gave her head a toss to the side to clear a few stray hairs from her eyes, her smile changed to menace and malice and she moved towards her prey with her full resolve.

As soon as the first blast of the Technomancer's weapon echoed down the tunnels, Teislyn broke into a run straight towards the guards, then halted suddenly with her hands up. "Wait! Stop!" They looked at her confused, then at each other. She placed her hands on her hips, "Okay, answer me this,” She suddenly changed her expression and looked coquettish and thoughtful. "Do you know how a guy turned the sky orange?" She waited briefly for an answer then continued her distraction. "No? Okay then," she shrugged. She pointed to the sky and when they all looked up, she ran up to the first guy whom she had named One and slapped face hard.

His reaction was slow, "Ow. That hurted," he whined, rubbing his cheek. He turned to grab Teislyn but she had quickly moved between him and the guard she had named Two before One could punch her. She punched Two in the stomach hard and that guard dropped to his knees in pain. She laughed a bit at this but remembered she had two others still standing that she needed to deal with. The Technomancer's blasts were distracting, she had to stay focused. She stuck to her plan while she skipped around Two, poked, prodded and goaded One and Three with her fingers. These two idiots were dense as stone and she asked them again, "So, One and Three, do you know how a guy could have turned the sky orange? Still no idea, huh?" She anticipated One's and Three's fists come towards her at the same time and she dodged and knotted their swings between them. Three's fist collided with One's face and sent him solidly down to the ground with a thump.

"One down and two to go!" Two had gotten back up, coughed off the pain in his midsection, and started towards her again. She backed away slowly and saw that Three was coming from behind. The thought of being crushed between these two almost sent her running in a panic. She took a few deep breaths, looked back at Three and winked, "I'm stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea." She saw Two getting closer and Three was almost up to her, she danced a few steps and ended up beside Three, which seemed to stop both in their tracks for a bit. Teislyn called out to Two, "Come at me, big boy," and blew a kiss at him. While Two was deciding what to do, she tapped Three on the shoulder and put the question to him again, "Do you know how a guy turned the sky orange?" She saw out of the corner of her eye that Two was now running at full speed towards them and she knew if she didn't get out of the way she'd be hurt. She slapped Three on the cheek and proclaimed, "It's been fun, my fine fellow, but now I bid thee adieu!" She whirled out of his way as he tried to grab her, stumbled over her feet a bit to a clear spot and turned just as Two crashed into Three and sent them flying into the wall behind them. There was a sickening crunch that sounded like necks snapping, but she couldn't be too sure.

She blinked a few times to make sure she was seeing what just happened. She slowly went over to where the two bodies were and nudged at them with her foot. They seemed still, so she bent down and whispered to them, "The answer to the question is, he was wearing orange tinted glasses!" She heard a slight moan and fled before they could recover.

Leislyn looked at Aicha as she took on the Technomancer and found herself in awe of how skillful the Mage was in her fight. "Never mind that," she thought. "Time to kick some ass and get my own ass into gear to take on that evil, traitorous cat." She ran over to where OneTwo was and whispered "You feel like shooting the hell out of Six?"

OneTwo looked into Leislyn's eyes and said with a hiss "Yes, time to take this traitor out. I'm ready to shoot. Get me in position."

As Leislyn picked OneTwo up and adjusted its back legs into a handle position and its front legs into the place where they'd serve as a trigger, she noticed a group of rats forming behind Six. "Hey Donner, do you think you can find a way to dispose of those disgusting things? I don't have any poison with me to throw at them, or I would." She hoped that Donner would find a way to take the rats out of the equation because frankly they gave her the heebee jeebies.

With that, she marched her way over toward Six and confronted him. "Hey, feline traitor scum! Let's get this over with, shall we? Creatures like you that betray others make me sick!" Before Six could respond, she hit the trigger and watched as lightning shot out of OneTwo's mouth and hit Six directly on his back leg.

Six hissed and howled and had a grimace on its face. "I wasn't ready for that! That's not fair!" he whined. His pain was feigned and he took the opportunity to shoot back at Leislyn and OneTwo with a bolt of lightning that came directly from his mouth as if by remote control.

"How the hell is he doing that?" Leislyn asked OneTwo. Six seemed to be completely autonomous and able to arm, target and fire all by himself. OneTwo was in gun form and she wasn't sure if he had an answer.

"I don't know but we need to keep shooting," OneTwo finally answered. "Aim for the gap between his head and neck and that will take him out! Otherwise we'll be in a constant lightning fight and we could both get hurt."

Donner sized up the situation, Aicha had faced off with the 'Smoking Pipe Guy,' Teislyn said she was going after the three massive humans, Leislyn was shooting with OneTwo. That left Isze, Nancy and him with the army of rats to contend with. He surveyed the sea of vermin and gulped. "Rats, vy ist it alvays rats?" He turned to the others, "Did anybody bring a gun dat ist nicht a katzen?" Out of the corner of his eye he saw Aicha's cane had begun to glow, but she didn't seem to have a gun. "Or a sword?" To his right he observed Isze had produced a number of weapons seemingly from nowhere and Nancy was crouched ready to fight with open paws. "Vell, dat chust sucks, cause I only got two swords dat I stole from Areiwyn ven she vasn't lookkink, und sharing I'm not able to mit both of you." He tossed a sword at Nancy then prepared to attack the rats. Nancy was on her own, Donner didn't trust her one bit. He found it just too convenient that it was her assistant that had betrayed them. The thought of betrayal made him angry to the point of becoming berserk. The blood pounded in his ears as he faced his foes.

"Leave the Technomancer for the mage, she is quite useful for some things," Isze thought as the Technomancer attacked Aicha. Isze ran forward to help Teislyn with the guards, but realized almost instantly they were barely a threat. It seemed that with Areiwyn absent, no one instinctively went to fight the battle-creature, but Leislyn quickly took up that fight. Isze fought the first wave of rats. "Donner, try to round up the rats!" cried Isze.

The rat's were a deceptively difficult foe, small, agile, sharp-toothed, EVERYWHERE. Rats certainly had their place in natures order...but their place opposed Isze's. Filthy, disease-carrying, cruel, disgusting, destructive. In her own mind, they were parallel to a lot of humans. They did seem to be flesh rats and not metallic ones. There was at least one advantage to their being made of flesh and bone, her metal weapons would be far more effective.

Isze whipped off her hat, it would be too unbalanced to be much protection here. She grabbed the tessen from inside it, and didn't worry about the boomerang hidden next to the lessen. There was little use for such a weapon in this space, except as a club, and the fan would work for that. She ripped off her bolero and revealed the suspiciously-sharp bracelets it had helped obscure. She fastened the bracelets on her wrists and was immensely glad of the more practical elements of the costume she had dressed in, boots were an excellent wardrobe choice it seemed, she could hide an arsenal in a boot. The goggles proved useful too, rats would go for anything edible, but given a choice they’d eat the softest flesh right off you, which meant the eyeballs were especially vulnerable.

The first rat to reach her received a stunning blow with the still folded fan as she grabbed a unique edged stiletto from the sheath in her boot. She stood firm, flicked open the fan and attacked furiously. She stabbed and sliced almost too fast to see. Rat upon rat stumbled under the wide force of her fan as tried to dispose of as many as she could as quickly as she could. Soon they began to crawl up her body, their vile claws hooked into her skin, their foaming mouths chewed through the thick cloth of her bodysuit. Disgusted, Isze let out a cry and swept her arms over her body. Most fell to the floor, but a few got up again, and she delivered heavy blows with the tessen and with deft cuts from the chakri on her wrists which felled them.

Donner had worried a group of the rats together, but they were too small, too adept at pouring in-between the space between them, separating them with the sheer mass of their numbers. “Back to back!” shouted Isze, perhaps a wall defense would be better. But the vermin could probably climb them, and this way they were close to all the others. Donner was compliant, didn’t ask for explanations, and did as Isze shouted. The irony of rats attacking a weasel, however hesitantly, amused Isze, but it made their job a little easier. She was a slashing blur, dealing a glancing blow over the head of five rats at once, stabbing or cutting with all three weapons so fast they left silver blurs on her vision. She jumped away from Donner to dispose of rats that had turned and had begun to worry the other teammates, then returned to Donner's side. She observed that Donner might not even h

Fellowship Fighting for Justice!
]

Quercus took a deep breath. "Nice family reunion OneToo. How about we throw a party?" She raised her bow and fired an armor piercing arrow at the metal plating covering the technomancer's arm before turning to face the rats. Behind her she could hear a shout of surprise and the sound of battle. In front of her the rats thrashed like a living carpet of teeth and hairless tails. As they surged forward Quercus held out her arms and sneered at them. "Rats spit on cats. What rats be you?" She spoke in the grating tongue of the rat language. The rats stopped in amazement. "Why follow a bad cat? You can't eat it even if it were alive! What rat want to follow such a cat? There be kitchens and mounds of food to be found. Cat have no food. Why follow?" The rats began to chatter rapidly. Quercus couldn't decipher everything they were saying, there we too many voices, but what she could hear didn't give her much hope. Six had some kind of hold over them. One strong enough to make a rat ignore reason. It took a great deal to convince a rat to throw itself into a fight where it might die rather than continue to look for food and a warm place to sleep. "Wolf? Any ideas?" Quercus called as she tried to think of another way to stop the rats.

As Quercus spun to see who had spoken Venom became very still. Instinct had taken over causing his hand to fly to the hilt of his sword, but he made no move to draw it. Why he hadn’t detected these fools earlier bothered him a great deal. Now however was not the time for wondering. A small smile crept across his face at the mention of evening the odds. “Don’t worry about me, just try and keep those rats under control. If we dismantle their leader the rest will flee.” He pointed threateningly past the mechanical cat and the wary three body guards directly at the technomancer.

Wolf thought quickly. "Fire...rats hate fire! I can take care of them, but I need help!" She looked at Shikyuim. "Use one of your small flashbangs, quickly! Aim it at the enemies!" The alchemist looked through his bag and grabbed one as requested. He threw it and immediately when it hit the ground there was a bang with a bright flash. Their opponents were temporarily blinded.

As soon as the flash was gone Wolf ran towards the rats, grabbing the weapon from one of the stunned guards as she passed. She channeled her power into the weapon and used it to create a wall of flame between the rats and everyone else. She'd just finished by the time everyone was finished reorienting themselves. But in her haste, she'd placed herself on the wrong side of the wall! "Oh shoot! Well, that's no big deal. I can walk right through. This is one time I'm grateful I'm immune to all fire," she thought.

Changing the properties of the weapon, Wolf turned it into a flamethrower. Remembering to stay as close to the wall of flame as she could, since the rats were avoiding it, she aimed it at the rats. "Not one rodent shall remain alive as long as I'm here!" Rats cooked to crisps before the gouts of fire that issued from her weapon, and before long, only a few were left to flee in terror. Six yowled and hissed maliciously. "Nooo!!! My army! My rats! You'll pay for what you have done you traitorous, flea-bitten excuse for a canine!"

Ignoring the mass of spitting, yowling metal Wolf quickly transformed her weapon into a conductor so she could call upon the magic of her lake to give her her cloak and staff. This power transcended all time and space, and no matter where she was or what she was doing, if she called upon it, it would come. Holding the weapon straight up she exclaimed, "Spirit of the Lake! Use this weapon as my tool to help me transform! Channel your energies into it and let them flow through me! Grant me my cloak and staff!" Instantly she felt energy rushing through her body, and in mere seconds she was wearing her cloak and holding her staff.

Quercus listened to the shrieks behind her and breathed in the smell of blood. She smiled, she could taste the tang of something hidden in the chaos. Venom was well named it seemed. She could hear Wolf getting ready and with the rats fighting over the flesh that had landed on the floor there was time. Snatching her bow up she lashed out at the rats, stabbing a few of them and cutting others. They flew over the heads of their fellows shrieking in agony only to vanish beneath those coming up behind. From the sound of it their pain was quickly ended as others fought for a meal. As Wolf moved forward, Quercus stepped back and twisted out the way of Wolf's flame attack. "How long do you think it will take to drive them off?!" Quercus cried as she stood up. "Not one rodent shall remain alive as long as I'm here!" answered her question. "Right. Well that's one issue taken care off."

Crouching Venom inhaled, on the exhale he drew his sword. Forged of the darkest metal the blade was impossible to see in the dim light of the tunnel. Guard no.1 had less than a fair chance, the poor man didn’t even seem to realize he had been engaged in battle till the black metal slid from between his ribs, reducing him to little more than a twitching pile on ground.

Once blood had been spilled the rats became even more wild, fighting each other in their fevered rush toward their next meal, clueless as to who they were attacking. With a slight adjustment to his stance Venom turned and slashed toward Guard no.2, who had been so shocked by his companions failing that he hardly had time to lift a hand in protest. Four fingers and a thumb bounced on the ground but had ultimately saved the man his neck. Quickly the few rats who had made it past Wolf's firewall made off with the severed parts leaving nothing but bloody smears behind as the man who lost them screamed in agony. Venom moved to finish the job but was met with a challenge. Guard no.3, who Venom realized he should have done away with first, had drawn a short sword of his own, and had taken up an offensive stance.

Straitening his own posture Ven lowered his sword slightly, blood from the last two victims splattering on the ground before him. These droplets fizzled as they landed, inaudible amidst the struggle. “Your friend.” Venom made a small gesture toward the fingerless guard on the ground currently trying to fight a sizable rat for his index finger. “If you don’t let me finish the job, his end will be more agonizing than you can imagine.” Even now the poison from Venom’s blade was beginning to turn the man’s stump a sickly green, hidden as it was by the flow of blood.

Foolishly Guard.no3 gave into the taunt and flew forward in a blind rage slashing his short sword wildly. “Rule number one.” Venom caught the man in mid strike leaving a small cut on his left shoulder. As the enraged man wheeled around for a second attack Venom stepped aside leaving an even deeper cut on the man’s right side. “Never let your emotions cloud your resolve.” A cut from Venom’s blade was a cut like none other. If left unattended even a shallow cut would fester, larger incisions would begin to rot within a day, a limb once severed could never be reattached. Evading Guard no.3’s last attack Venom plunged his sword deep into the man’s chest just as he had the first guard.

As the guard slid to the ground he still struggled to maintain his dignity. Not giving in to the pain till the last possible moment before his body reacted and rendered him unconscious. Kneeling beside the man Venom swatted away a rat and reached into one of his breast pockets. Pulling out a small vial of green liquid Venom dropped three droplets onto the man’s wound then quickly replaced the potion and stood. By now the swarm of rats had been mostly subdued thanks to the efforts of Quercus and the somewhat surprisingly brutal actions of Wolf. Venom turned toward Guard no.2 and ended what he started.

Wolf ran up to Shikuyim and asked him if he had another flashbang. "Yes, I do," he replied, and handed it over. Wolf broke open the weapon from the guard, praying it contained what she needed, an iron bar and copper wire. She didn't need a capacitor as the flashbang would do the same thing. "Yes! I got lucky. Very lucky. It has everything!" she thought.

In the flash of an eye she created an electromagnetic pulse device by combining the three items, though it was very short range. With a large piece of the weapon that was left, she created a shielding device and tossed it to OneToo. "Get back, and keep behind that," she yelled. "This will keep you safe from any residual EMP frequencies. It will protect you within a four foot radius, acting like an invisible dome."

Igniting the flashbang, she aimed it directly at Six. It landed right inside his ear. "What a shot! Wouldn't be able to do that again," she thought. Upon contact, it erupted within Six, destroying him. "Hmm...a little too powerful. Oh well, I'm sure they can rebuild him. The parts are all there," she thought. Quickly she made her way over to join Venom, who was now engaging the technomancer.

Quercus scanned the battle, Six was looking stunned as he tried to process what Wolf was doing, OneToo urging them on while Nancy stayed as far back as she could. Shikuyim had a hand in his pockets, seeking things for the next attack and Venom was dealing with an enraged guard. And the Technomancer had pulled her arrow from his shoulder and was casting. Cursing inwardly, Quercus threw her bow, distracting him and stopping his attack. He raised his arm to stop it only for the spines to get stuck in the joints of his metal casing. Quercus shot passed Venom and grabbed the bow, pulling the technomancer away from Venom and Wolf. But the technomancer was heavier than Quercus, she didn't have the weight to pull him over and while he was wrong footed it wasn't for long. As Quercus snatched another arrow from her coat, the technomancer brought a metal fist down on her shoulder. Quercus hissed in pain, dropping the arrow and receiving a blow round the head from the other arm as the technomancer shook his limb free of her bow. Partly stunned she was slammed back against the wall and the technomancer probably would have finished her if the explosion of Six hadn't caused him to look round to see Venom moving in on him. Deciding there were more important threats he left her for later.

With the guards taken care of Venom was finally free to turn his attention on the technomancer. Without hesitation he strode toward the other man and began a frighteningly tireless assault. Each blow was caught in turn by the man’s mechanical arm, but Venom pressed harder and cursing his attacker the technomancer staggered. In that same moment a flash bang went off putting Six out of commission. Venom having lived underground for a large portion of his life, was extremely sensitive to bright lights. Unfortunately the flash bang had three time the effect and rendered him blind long enough for the technomancer to fire on him landing a few hard blows. Gritting his teeth Venom was forced to pause and refocus.

The tunnel was disorienting without sight, the sounds of pain and dying filled the air and bounced from the circularly curved walls adding to the confusion. But the only mechanical sound Venom could detect was standing in front of him, the technomancer was conjuring another spell, using his mechanically enhanced arm was his own miserable mistake. Once he had locked on to his target, vision or no vision, Venom resumed his attack.

Almost as soon as he determined who he should be attacking a familiar energy appeared at his side. Without having to look he could sense Wolf, willing and ready to join the fray.

Wolf joined Venom, who was already knee-deep in battle. She quickly glanced at him out of the corner of her eye and saw nothing but pure loathing on his face. Sweat was dripping down his brow, and he was completely focused. "Venom!" she called. "You've already done so much. Let me help! Let me take the lead for a bit!"

Seeing as she couldn't use her staff for its exact purpose, Wolf got thinking fast as to what it could become. Before she got a chance, the technomancer fired a stream of what looked like nine-inch-long spikes at her. Transforming her cloak into a shield, she covered Venom and herself. As the nails hit her cloak, she made it allow them to ricochet off and fire back at their opponent. It took him by surprise! She let her guard down and she and Venom let a cheer our and for a split second they celebrate. "Venom! While he's down! Quick!"

Wolf’s defensive abilities turned offensive and caused the technomancer to stagger once more. “That’s the way!” Venom grinned and moved in to finish the man for good. Still slightly disoriented from the flash bang however Ven made a critical mistake and instead strode toward a temporary double the technomancer was able to conjure from the armor of a fallen guard. Caught unaware Venom was hit from behind by the real technomancer’s mechanical arm. Being in such a confined space Venom was unable to catch himself and instead hit the wall with a sickening crack.

"No!" Wolf yelled. She ran in to make her move, but without her being able to see what he was using, the technomancer got her as well! She was thrown onto her back and howled in pain. Fortunately she managed to keep hold of her staff during the attack. The technomancer made his way over to her, chuckling maliciously. He placed a foot on her chest to show his dominance. "So," he sneered. "You thought you could defeat one of the best technomancers in Crystania? I, who was sent by DeWinter himself! DeWinter will prevail! No one can stop him! Especially not a miserable excuse of an animal like you!" He lets a cold, heartless, malicious laugh out and it rings eerily through the tunnel. "So, fleabag, any last words before you die?"

Panting heavily, Wolf's eyes flashed dangerously. Her face is a mix of loathing and pain. "There's an old saying: 'she who laughs last, laughs longest.'" Before he had a chance to react, her staff let out a huge flash. With most of the energy she had left, Wolf had turned it into a flash gun bright enough to blind him.

"Arrrgh!" he yelled, as he staggered off her, blinded. She weakly got herself up and stood, balancing on her staff. Using the rest of her strength, she turned her staff into a spear gun and from its globe, a spear fired out and pierces right through his heart. "Ha!" she said weakly, and collapsed.

As soon as the technomancer turned his attention elsewhere, Quercus let her legs fold and sat in the filth on the floor, clutching her shoulder and trying not to cry. Her head hurt and she could feel and taste blood where her lip had been struck. It didn't look like she'd lost any teeth though. Forcing herself to focus she spotted Wolf and Venom dealing with the metal creep. Her eyes were watering now and she was having to spit to keep the blood from filling her mouth. "I can't..." She managed and tilted her head forward to rest on her knees, her eyes closed as she let the blood flow from her mouth.

She knew this sensation. When her kind bonded with plants, the plants gave some of their toughness and strength in exchange. She could feel the plants that were a part of her working hard to help heal, releasing chemicals to combat any possible source of infection or poison and helping her deal with the pain. She could feel the vines dripping sap down her face to the point where she had been struck. Her own strength merging with them and helping her heal faster. As the pain lessened she opened her eyes and found her focus clear and sharp. She was surprised by the quiet though. Looking up showed her a painful scene. Wolf and Venom were lying still, Nancy and OneToo with them while Shikuyim worked to help them. Quercus pulled herself up, retrieved her bow and moved over to them. Her shoulder still hurt, it was possible that it was fractured but the plants within her were probably already working on repairing it along with her own tissue. Gently she reached out to touch Wolf. She was warm, the same warmth she had shown from the beginning. Quercus let a tired smile cross her face and turned to Venom. Ca

The Foggiest Notions - The Ladies Prevail
The warrior Armina was immediately on guard and encouraged the others to stand behind her. “Pfft!” She spit as she glared at the metallic cat. “Six, huh? Hmpf... I am sure rightfully named,” she reached down to pat OneToo and continued, “For you are half the cat your sibling is!”

Having come from a poor war-torn village Armina was not in the least bit fearful of the rats; although their numbers were far greater than she was used to, seeing them almost raised a feeling of nostalgia inside her and a longing for home. She glanced quickly to the faces of her friends; Evangelista the alchemist, Ravensong the bard, and Fern the ranger.

Ravensong also gave Fern a look, at first she spent a moment panicking when suddenly they were set upon by three bearish guards, a seemingly evil metallic battle cat, and a horde of rats salivating at the mouth.

When she had gotten over her initial surprise she recalled a game her sister and her used to play with the woodland creatures back home, a sort of 'Pied Piper' game where the two of them would combine their natural affinity for animals with the magic of music.

Hoping that the rats were at least somewhat similar to the small creatures of the Great North Wood, she edged closer to Fern. "Think the rodents are interested in piping?" she asked her quietly, hoping that they could at least lure away and calm the wild rats giving their friends and Nancy a chance to make it safely through the tunnels.

It only took Fern a moment to catch on to Ravensong's plan and she gave a slight nod, "But I haven't any instrument." Fern answered in a hushed tone.

"You've your voice haven't you?" Ravensong answered softly, carefully reaching to take her violin and bow from her back, "Animals trust you Fern, they always have." she added, hoping that the rats would be no exception as she slowly raised her violin to her chin.

Fern closed her eyes and drew in a deep breath as she waited for the first few notes to sound, opening them again and saying a silent prayer before she started to sing. Her vocals held no true lyrics but the melody was sweet all the same as Fern called to the large rodents, hoping to persuade them with her voice as she started slowly down the tunnel.

Trusting in her friends to keep their other adversaries busy, Ravensong followed behind Fern, weaving a spell with her violin to accompany her sister's singing and saying a silent prayer of thanks as the rats began following behind them. Evangelista wasn’t startled at all by their sudden attack. Instinctively, she knew the idea of following a floozy cabaret singer would not go smoothly.

Her fellow adventurers probably expected her to scream at the sight of the rats. What they did not know, and she would never tell them, was that in her search for the Elixir of Life she had used rats for many of her experiments. She found them to be dumb scavengers, fairly harmless, unless threatened. As she watched, Ravensong and Fern led the rats away and down the tunnel out of sight.

Having encountered the guards before, she knew DeWinter obviously had very little invested when it came to hiring his guards. It seemed he preferred the services of drunkards and reprobates.

Upon seeing the man with the steam pipe, she immediately recognized him as being the technomancer. “Aha, she thought with a smirk, I’ve been expecting you.”

Before anyone could make a move, she reached into her trouser pocket and produced her compact, self-designed, six shooter blow pipe. Each chamber was loaded with custom bamboo darts. The points, being sharp enough to be lethal in and of themselves, was not enough for Evangelista. Each dart had been saturated with essence of Nightshade and Hemlock, a concoction of her own design.

Taking advantage of the man blowing on his steam pipe, with perfect timing and accuracy, when his mouth was open she blew one of the darts which struck him squarely in his throat. Now that he was paralyzed, she antagonized him with a vengeful smile.

Before the dumb guards knew what happened, she turned toward them. With incredible speed she blew again, one, two, three times in rapid succession. Her aim was such that she struck an eyeball, a carotid artery, and a heart.

Not quite, but she almost felt sorry for the guards. They knew not what was happening to them. With great joy, however, her heart was elated knowing the technomancer was fully aware of the long, slow, and painful death before him.

From down the tunnel, Ravensong and Fern ran back to the rest of the group with not a single rat following behind them. “Great team work,” said Ravensong to Fern, “Those rats will be asleep for days after hearing our lullaby.” Fern smiled at her sister, pleased that they were able to defeat the rats without so much as a scratch on them.

With the rat horde gone, the guards and technomancer out of commission, all that was left was the metallic cat Six. Armina was holding steady in front of him, her battleaxe in hand. She swung at him several times but Six was too fast for her.

Evangelista had a sudden burst of genius. She rummaged through her bag of alchemical potions and pulled out a peculiar looking vial full of metallic viscous liquid. Armina fell back from Six, regaining her composure as he hissed at her in a manner that signified her defeat, she noticed Evangelista smiling her signature smile of amusement. She threw the vial to Armina and with one hand she caught it. “Break it onto your axe!” shouted Evangelista.

Armina nodded and smashed the vial onto the blade of her axe, the liquid spread out evenly over the whole of the blade and caused a disturbance in the air around it. Evangelista reluctantly grabbed OneToo and ran as far as she could from Armina and her battleaxe. Armina knew exactly what to do, she charged towards Six with her axe blade in front of her, the blade was causing all manner of metal to vibrate in the tunnel as she ran at him.

As she ran at Six, he realized what was going on but not in time. The axe, emitting forth a strong magnetic field, pulled him fast into the sharp edge of the blade. Ravensong covered Fern’s eyes so she couldn’t see the devastating blow, as Six hit the blade hard. He was out cold, sparks flying, stuck to the blade of the axe. Just as quickly as her axe had become charged, the charge faded and he fell to the ground in a crumpled pile of twisted up metal. “That was brutal,” said Armina, feeling a bit sad as Evangelista brought OneToo back to the group.

“Well it worked, didn’t it?” Evangelista said giving OneToo a sympathetic smile, “I’m sure he can be fixed, but then again he was the bad guy. Now, onward to these Pyrates.” With the group of villains defeated, the friends continued on with Nancy and OneToo to reach the lair of the Pyrates.

Wildcards Battle it out! Violet looks around at the Wildcards and is thinking, what sort of mess did we get ourselves into. This adventure sure has not been boring.

Out of the corner of her eye she sees Eba Rose reach into her bag, Violet knows what is coming and turns just in time to avoid the flash.

Eba Rose exclaims, "Oh, dear!" and seems to fumble helplessly in her satchel. The Wildcards know this signal, and before she drops what seems an innocent ball of yarn, the group turns from her, shielding their eyes. The felines instinctively perk at the sign of the yarn, and Eba yells, "OneTwo!" and throws her cloak over them both, protecting them from the blinding flash when the ball of yarn hits the ground.

A few seconds later, Eba lifts the cloak and asks, "OneToo, you ok? I guess I should have warn you."

OneToo looks over at Eba and says, "Now that is some nice little trick there with the yarn. Most cats can't resist such a tempting toy. Thanks for protecting me from it. I guess I will now know in the future to be wary of your balls of yarn." Eba gives a cackle. "You never know about us old grandmas.... Sometimes it's for a scarf, sometimes, it's for a distraction."

Violet runs over to Eba Rose and helps her move OneToo out of any harms way. "I think he will be safe over here. Maybe stay here with him in case if he comes too before we are all done with these rats and that really gross technomancer." Eba nods in agreement and steps aside with OneTwo, staying clear of the fight.

Violet looks for Nancy and sees her hiding herself in a crevice. She runs towards her and points her to where Eba Rose and OneToo are. Nancy gets the silent message and makes her way over to them. There now Violet doesn't have to worry about her.

Violet runs back into the chaos and sees Jianni doing his magic with the rats.

"Rats...it had to be rats, didn't it?" the half-Elven Troubadour mutters to himself, instinctively hitching up his leather breeches and tucking them into the high, soft boots he favored for performances; elegant but completely impractical, but who knew a State Ball would lead to a tunnel crawl?

"Oh, Sweet Lady of Night, just Gypsy up and handle it, Jianni Yes, there are a lot of hungry-looking rats, but rats are just the bigger cousins of squirrels, are you afraid of your Misha? Of course you're not!" he scolds himself mentally, instinctively closing with his companions in a protective crescent around Nancy, his hand straying, not to the steel hilt of his wavy-bladed short sword sheathed at his hip, but to the hand carved cedar flute hanging from a leather thong. His fingers caressed the wood, smooth as a stone from a river and its song as sweet as summer.

He closes his mismatched green and blue eyes to block out beady black eyes and the thought of sharp, yellowing teeth and took a long cleansing breath before playing. He remembered an ancient carnival worker who held vipers motionless while he played, the swaying of his body mesmerizing his deadly audiance. Ideally he would have liked to rehearse this on something that wouldn't swarm up his legs and eat his eyes, but whatever.

His head weaved side to side, feeling the notes of the story of the first Gypsy King's adventures in Shadowglen's Haunted Forest. He wasn't nearly as brave as Kohlchek the Wanderer, but he wouldn't desert his friends.

"Keep playing," Nancy whispers "Whatever you're doing, keep doing it. Is that a spell?"

He shook his head, not wanting to break his concentration as Kohlchek faught the Lord of Wind and Woe for his daughters hand, dimly aware that the rats' chittering had subsided. Had it worked.

Violet sees that some of the guards are still up and about and still trying to wipe their eyes from the bright flash that Eba Rose created. Violet quickly comes up with a quick freezing spell and chants it towards the few guards that are nearby.

"Winter is cold

Your body is colder

You begin to freeze limb by limb

Ice is freezing you where you stand

Move no more"

All of the guards nearby begin to freeze on the spot. Violet doesn't know how long the spell will hold, but she knows it should hold long enough for everyone to escape. The few guards that are still around look towards Violet and see that their comrades are frozen in place. They begin to descend onto Violet, but are stopped short when they see Shaela hiding in the corner. Since Shaela hates violence and avoids any typle of confrontation. Violet races over and intercepts them. She yells back to Shaela, "Go over to Eba Rose and OneToo, you will be save over there."

Shaela groans at the onslaught. Always with the violence! I should seriously reconsider this whole adventurer gig she thought to herself. She curled her lip at the technomancer. What kind of place had magic that worked on machinery? Ugh, it was all so unnatural. Shaela shook her head at the cold metal and clockwork parts. They befuddled her sense of connection to the earth and the animals and - ACK!

A cog-driven cat wizzed by her head, interrupting her thoughts, and she dove to the ground, temporarily stunned and shaking.

Violet yelled at her to join Eba Rose and OneTwo in the corner. It was tempting, but when Shaela saw Violet attempting jokes as a distraction she knew she had to step up. She abhorred mechanical things and had no skill with that...but the rats! The rats she could connect with!

There were still several rats skittering about, trying to look menacing, but Shaela could feel their lack of conviction. Chittering, she knelt down and pulled some tidbits from her satchel.

"Really??" RedCalypso groaned as she strode towards the technomancer.

Shaela let the rats have the treats and they happily scrambled onto her shoulders.

"It doesn't always have to be about the blade you know," she retorted.

"True," piped Eba from the corner. "Sometimes all it takes is the pommel!"

Violet distracts the guards with some silly joke from her childhood, "Hey guys, I have something to ask ya." The few guards still left turn their heads toward Violet. Good Violet thinks, hopefully I can distract them enough with this joke for Shaela to get over to Eba Rose.

"So you guys know what a cow is right?? Well what do you get from a pampered cow?"

The guards look at her then at each other and shrug their shoulders like as if this is of any concern to them.

"Spoiled Milk." Responds Violet, well chuckling softly. The guards look at her again, then at each other, and they too let out a small chuckle. While they all seem amused, Violet quickly rechants the freezing spell, and boom. They are all frozen in place.

Violet looks around, all proud as can be. She turns towards Red just in time to see her drop her sword. Violet is about to run to see if Red needs any help when she hears Red screaming at the technomancer and calling him scum. Violet knows that Red has it all handled.

Meanwhile, Shaela is with Eba Rose, who has Nancy and OneTwo under her watchful eye. Although confident in the abilities of her companions, Eba finds herself holding her breath. This could get ugly.

Red Calypso did a quick scan of the battle. Most of her teammates were already facing off with various foes, but no one seemed to be dealing with the technomancer so she made her way towards him, drawing her sword. "It looks like it's you and me, scum," she taunted.

He sneered at her in response. "A sword? How pitiful. You are no challenge at all." He gestured and she staggered as her sword seemed to triple in weight. "All metal is mine to command, fool."

Red glared at him, her temper flaring at the abuse to her favorite weapon. She set it down gently and snarled at her opponent. "You think you can beat me with a few parlor tricks, scum?" She darted at him, hopeful that she was quick enough and agile enough to evade him and use her daggers against him before he could affect them.

He grabbed at her as she approached, but she dropped and rolled, ending up behind him. Quick as a thought, her daggers were out and she slashed at the back of his knees, hamstringing him. He bellowed in rage and pain as he fell.

A sense of triumph swept through her and she let out a victory cry as she lunged in for the kill. It proved to be totally premature on her part as he rolled onto his back and seized her arms. "You will die slowly for daring to harm me!" he hissed. Cold began to flow down her arms from where he held her and the daggers fell from her numbing hands.

The technomancer laughed cruelly at her plight. "Once you are totally paralyzed, I promise you you will beg for death before I grant it to you."

"I'll never beg you for anything, bastard. And you talk too damn much!" Leaning down she used the only weapon left to her at the moment, her teeth. The next few moments were exceedingly gory as she began ripping at his face. Screaming, he released her hands to try and push her away. She took advantage of the opportunity and seized one dagger in her still numb hands. Using her whole weight she drove the dagger into his black heart.

Rolling off his twitching body, she spat blood out of her mouth. That was utterly foul, she thought in distaste, but whatever gets the job done.

After many grunts and groans, the Wildcards and Nancy look around and see that only they are left standing, well besides the frozen guards that is. "Well that was fun." Says Violet. The Wildcards all look at her and shake their heads.

Misfits Are NOT Sissies Amdir surveyed the menacing group blocking their path while OneToo kept the other mechanical cat busy talking.

Silently each member of the team moved into a better position, choosing targets and assessing potential weaknesses. Juana moved around slowly, gaining a clear path to take out a couple if not all three guards, taunting them as only she could.

On instinct, Juana jumped in front of her companions. While she was not originally excited about dressing as a man, she was extremely grateful for the horrid orange pants as she drew her knives from the seemingly infinite laces crisscrossing up the sides.

A few dumb muscles in the enemy entourage smirked as they stepped forward rolling their necks and cracking their knuckles. "Come on now, little girl, don't hurt yourself with those," one patronized.

"We don' wanna hurt any of yous pretty lil things," another chimed in.

"Why don't we all go have a tea party?" the last added.

"Men." the warrior thought.

Juana didn't mind the focus being on her for a minute, she could hear her comrades plotting behind her and she used the spotlight to her advantage. She softened her stance and fluttered her eyelashes a bit. "I'm so glad you see through our disguises," she flattered. "I was so frightened pretending to be a brave, strong man!" She caught bits and pieces of the plan being devised, "Just a bit closer...." she thought. "I know you don't really want to have a tea party, but we don't have to fight!" she lied. "We might have some useful information, do you think we could go quietly with you big handsome galluts?"

Thank goodness the bouncers back at Nancy's show never patted them down for weapons, her companions would have killed her (if the guards didn't) for getting caught with weapons in her pants. "Always trust your gut," she thought, "Every now and then the risk pays off." That thought was the only one she had time for as the room erupted in action.

A flying river of water rushed up from the floor and squeezed out of the walls toward the skinny, shady man with the flute. At the threat to their master, the rats screeched and skittered stampeding toward the group, scratching and biting wherever they found flesh. Amdir and Nancy flanked Anna, fighting off the rats to protect her. Jilly was nowhere to be found, which was an excellent sign. All of this to the soundtrack of the angry hissing and spitting of fighting cats along with the awkward and terrifying addition metallic scratching and crashing as the cats fought out their rivalry.

OneToo glared at Six. "I can't believe you'd betray the lady like this!"

Six flicked his tail from side to side, "You bore me with your patriotism. DeWinter holds a great power that I desire. I intend to help him gain the ultimate victory and you will not stand in my way!"

"Oh really? We'll see about that!" OneToo had been crouching low to the ground and he suddenly sprung his back legs out and launched himself towards the other feline. Six was ready though and he quickly rolled to the side, turned around and watched OneToo fly harmlessly past him.

"Ha! You are not a battle cat like I am! I'm much superior to you! I would tell you to run back to your stupid human friends and lick your wounds, but unfortunately for you, I plan to take care of them too!"

OneToo hesitated for a moment. He knew that Six was correct, but he wasn't about to give up and let his friends die. He let out a long, low rumble of anger. Perhaps being a diplomat wasn't too far from being a battle cat. Sometimes you have to be aggressive and put the pressure on your opponent to get the desired results. Sometimes you have to be patient and watch what the other would do before making a decision. Using that knowledge, he decided to wait for Six to make a move.

Sure enough, Six pounced at him and knocked him to the ground and stood on top of him. OneToo quickly realized that Six had his paws wrapped around his neck and was trying to bite at the wires on his neck. Six extended his claws on all four paws and began to dig at OneToo's metallic exterior. OneToo recoiled his back legs into his belly and directed them so that with one swift move, both feet kicked out and struck Six in the stomach. This launched Six back in a tumble and OneToo was able to recover his upright position.

Six snarled at him, "Lucky move, but you won't get another chance like that again." And without warning, Six launched himself at OneToo again, but this time he was ready. He stood up on his hind legs and opened his front legs wide to receive Six' attack full on. They tumbled once more but OneToo managed to end up on top this time. Metallic claws and teeth flashed as they snarled, screeched and scratched.

Six kept struggling to be the one on top, but OneToo figured out how to keep himself balanced. In desperation, Six tried to roll himself to his feet while he was under OneToo, but that was his last mistake. OneToo knew where the 'life switch' was and Six had just exposed it. Right at the base of the neck was a tiny panel. OneToo managed to get his claws under it and pulled it out to expose the button inside.

"You know Six, you may be a battle cat, but I'm smarter than you. I know how you were built, just as I was. Say goodnight!" With that he stuck his claw in and hit the button. Six caterwauled and then became eerily still.

It took the three brutes a few milliseconds to realize what was happening, but it was just the window Juana needed. She sprang up, jumping high over their heads and landing behind them to pull them away from her element-wielding teammate. Before they could turn their massive bodies round, she sliced at their calf muscles and giggled at their groans of agony as they stumbled the rest of the way around.

"Aw come on fellas, I know you're tougher than that!" And they were. They weren't exactly impressive, but three on one is never preferable odds. In fact, they were nothing compared to the rock troll Juana had faced back in the forest fights, but it felt so GOOD to finally be flexing some muscle and proving to her teammates that she was worth her salt. The big guards were fast enough, but Juana was faster and she danced around them smashing faces and slicing muscles, probably enjoying the fight entirely too much.

Anna closed her eyes briefly to connect with the elements around her in case her talent might be needed. When she opened them again she focused in on the man with the pipe, trusting Jilly to back her up.

After that things moved from a pretty even fight to completely insane when a sound none of them would ever wish to hear again grew closer. Hundreds of lightly scraping claws passed over stone drawing nearer. When the first of the rats was spotted Nancy let out a gasp. The rats came from everywhere at once.

Amdir grabbed Nancy's arm and pulled her back closer to the wall before turning to Jilly and Anna. "You guys need to get that pipe!"

Jilly nodded and turned to her comrade, "Anna, if you can distract that man somehow, I can move in and get the flute. I can totally be sneaky."

Anna looked around the group. "Okay, I'll give it a try." Closing her eyes once more, the mage/technomancer took several calming, cleansing breaths. Cleansing…that’s what was needed here. “Time to clean out the vermin,” Anna murmured, her senses reaching out to the trickle of water in the drainage canal. Slowly, Anna stretched out her hands in the air and the water began to shiver, little ripples running through it. Stray droplets hurried to join with the main thread and the trickle grew bigger and bigger until it became a puddle.

The other technomancer with the pipe widened his eyes at the sight and began to play faster. The rats swarmed toward the Misfits with an increased crazed look in the eyes of the leaders. Teeth were bared and Nancy screamed and kicked out with a booted foot, catching the rodent closest to her and sending it airborne.

The rat wasn't the only thing flying however. Anna, her eyes now open, suddenly thrust her arms forward. A wave of water hit the pipe player with the force of a hard punch. The water pressure knocked him backward and he staggered under the impact. The pipe was jarred from his grasp and Jilly, who had been watching closely, darted in and seized the flute.

“Hit him again, Anna!” Jilly cried as she dashed back toward her companions.

Anna threw another, slightly less powerful, wall of water at the man. “I can’t keep this up much longer!” she declared.

“You’re doing great. Just a little more,” Amdir encouraged, taking the flute from Jilly.

The rats, without the music prompting their attack, now looked a bit dazed and confused. A few even ran back into the shadows at the noise coming from the fighting.

Jilly turned to Admir, "Can you play? Maybe we can make them tame or something.”

Amdir nodded. “They were in a trance. If I can find the right notes…man I wish Jenna was here!” Calling on all she could recall about music and different instruments that she’d picked up from traveling with Jenna on the previous adventure, Admir began to play a soft melody.

Jilly watched in amazement as the rats began to look around, bumping into each other. Then they began to turn. As the music grew a bit louder, a few squeaks could be heard and then, as one, the rats started back the way they came. “It’s working! It’s working! Keep playing, Amdir!” Jilly called excitedly.

And play the vagabond did. Faster and more raucous the tune became and the rodent’s eyes began to glitter. Their pace increased in time with the music and they were heading directly for the now drenched and sodden technomancer.

“No!” the man shrieked as his former minions converged on him, biting and clawing. Screams from Juana’s trio of ‘dance partners’ could be heard as the rats, drawn by the scent of blood, seemed to go mad. The attackers had become the attacked.

With Amdir still playing, the rats chased the evil villains back down the tunnel. The vagabond motioned for the others to go.

“Juana!” Jilly called.

In the middle of her revelry, Juana heard her cohorts calling her and noticed an odd sound.... silence! The cat fight had ended with Six in a steaming heap, the rats had exterminated the enemies for them, and the group was making their escape!

After a moment more of the music to allow them as much time as possible for escape, Amdir turned and hurried after Nancy and her companions.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

Fallen Angels in the Tunnels of Terror

As the Fallen Angels followed Nancy through the tunnels, none of them could shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen. Sure enough, they soon found themselves surrounded by enemies, both living, and machine.

"Oh crap," Calie murmured, glancing at the technomancer and the pipe, then doing a quick count of the rats. "How are we gonna get out of this one?"

"Rats, why did it have to be rats?" Webby asked in dismay, quickly backing up to stand behind Sashi.

"What do we do?" Talli murmured, moving to stand beside Calie, knowing they would have to work together to defeat this menace.

Jeice brandished her cane and sneered at one of the guards, then glanced over at Sashi. "Got any ideas?"

"Sure do," Sashi smirked, then she pulled the goggles from the Ranger's head, then added her own. She quickly undid the straps and attached the two pairs of heavy goggles together, forming a weapon she could swing and deal a rather painful blow with. "Perfect. Now for the other hand." She turned and grabbed Webby's goggles, and before she could even reach out, Calie and Talli had tossed over their own as well. She quickly made another weapon to wield in her other hand, then she tossed the remaining pair to Jeice. "Better than nothing," she shrugged.

Jeice nodded, and without further ado, the ranger and warrior sprang forward, intending to take out first the technomancer, then the guards.

Nancy looked on for a few moments, then decided to spring into action herself, surprising everyone by charging the technomancer. With a high kick, she knocked the pipe from his hands, then used her dancers grace and speed to keep him busy long enough for her new friends to form a plan.

Calie and Talli both glanced at each other, the technomancer, the rats, then finally at Webby, who had now scurried further back since Sashi and Jeice had moved. They grabbed her and dragged her forward as the rats paused in their advance now that the technomancer had been distracted.

"What?" Webby asked, eyes wide, trying to dig in her heels.

"Where's that screwdriver of yours?" Talli demanded, pointing to the rats. "I've got an idea."

"Oh yeah!" Webby grinned and pulled it out, then gasped as she fumbled and nearly dropped it. "Here we go, now what?"

Talli grabbed a discarded pipe from the floor and used it to pry open what looked like some kind of panel on the wall. "See if you can get some power flowing back into this thing, we need to slow them down." She glanced over at Calie. "We'll need water for this plan, too."

As Webby pointed the sonic screwdriver and attempted to draw some power back into the panel, Calie raced to the other side of the tunnel and touched the pipes, smiling as she realized one was indeed an old water pipe. "Got it!" She found a weak spot in the pipe, and thanks to wearing much sturdier shoes with the last costume change, broke it open soon a thin layer of water was fanning out across the tunnel floor.

"Now, back over here!" Talli pointed to the panel, which was now glowing faintly thanks to Webby and her screwdriver.

Meanwhile Jeice and Sashi had charged the guards, Sashi smacking the first one with the goggles, nearly knocking him out, while Jeice struck the other in the sternum with the end of her cane. As he went down, the ranger delivered the final blow, sending him to the floor unconscious. Sashi meanwhile had finished off the other one with a nasty smack to the face with the other set of goggles, and had grabbed the third in a chokehold. Jeice lunged forward and hit him in the stomach, and the guard crumpled. As he did, Sashi delivered a sound blow to the back of his head, rendering him unconscious as well.

Nancy had managed to keep the technomancer busy for a few moments, but one well placed kick from him sent her crashing into the wall. With a wince of pain, she clutched at her shoulder, realizing something was not quite where it was supposed to be anymore. She turned and tried to make her way back to the relative safety of Webby, Calie and Talli's position, only to find her way blocked by one angry metallic battle cat. As she backed away, the technomancer snatched up the pipe and started blowing into it again. Before Six could attack, OneToo leapt at his sibling and engaged it in battle, the two of them lunging and swiping at each other.

As the rats charged, Talli ordered Calie, and Webby to get up off the ground. They all leapt up and grabbed lengths of pipe, old wires, anything to get a handhold and get their feet away from the water. OneToo and Six, still dealing with each other, had already taken their battle up off the floor of the tunnel. "Angels, Nancy, up!" she shouted at Nancy, Jeice and Sashi, who were now standing in water an inch or two deep. With quick, nimble leaps the warrior and ranger grabbed onto Nancy and the three of them also managed to get off the ground.

Once their friends were in the clear, Calie used her technomancer skills to divert power from the panel, sending bolts of electricity down into the water, frying all the rats that had stayed on the ground. The Angels started to cough as the smell of burnt fur filled the tunnel, and after a few more moments, Webby pointed the screwdriver at the panel, shutting down the power. As they all dropped back down to the ground, several rats that had opted to run along ledges on the walls came charging in, but Talli and Calie made quick work of them with a couple of discarded lengths of pipe.

They all jumped as the other technomancer shouted in anger, and turned to see him brandishing the steam pipe. Unfortunately it seemed he, too, had managed to get clear of the water in time. He brandished his pipe with an angry snarl, then began pushing buttons and flicking switches. With a few deft twists of his hands, he turned the pipe into something that resembled a sawed off shotgun.

"Um...okay, what's he gonna do with that?" Webby asked, looking worried.

"I don't really want to find out," Talli replied, then they all shouted and dodged to one side, narrowly avoiding a fiery blast from the pipe.

Nancy once again tried to get in on the action, but Sashi grabbed her elbow. "We got this," she grinned, as she glanced over at Jeice. "Go back to the others." Nancy nodded and quickly moved away.

"Speaking of whom, let's buy them a little time," Jeice said, as she and Sashi glared over at the technomancer, then nodded to each other. They both ran toward him, and Sashi was the first to attack, neatly knocking him on his butt with one solid punch to the jaw.

Calie scowled as she looked at the man's steam pipe. "We need a weapon of our own." She looked back at the panel, then glanced around, trying to wrack her brain for anything they could use.

"Well, why not keep to the electricity theme?" Talli grinned, holding up a length of pipe, then one of the watches she was wearing. "Lightning gun, anyone?"

"Ooh, I like the way you think," Calie chuckled, then gestured for Webby to hand over her watch as well. "Come on, we don't have much time. Webby, we'll need that power back on again, and a length of cable to power the gun."

"You got it!" The vagabond jumped up and fairly giggled as she powered up the panel once more, than searched around for the appropriate wiring, while Calie and Talli set about turning the simple length of pipe into a weapon.

Jeice and Sashi meanwhile were feeling the heat, trying to keep the technomancer distracted. He managed to fire off another blast, and both of them were feeling a little singed thanks to a rather close call. Sashi charged in for another direct attack, while Jeice ran to the side, scaled the wall and leapt over his head, landing behind him. She took the goggles Sashi had thrown at her earlier and dragged the lenses over the muddy floor, coating them completely. She then jumped up and stuck them on the man's head, pulling them over his eyes and tightening the strap to the point they were nearly impossible to remove. Once he was blinded, Sashi delivered a roundhouse kick, knocking the pipe from his hand. "There, not so tough now, are ya?" She sneered.

Much to their surprise, the technomancer merely snarled back and jerked his arm, and the gun seemed to come flying right back into his hand! With a growl he then reached up and managed to tear the mud-covered goggles from his face. "Oh shoot, boy's got some skills," Sashi said, eyes widening as she and Jeice quickly backed up, and the man started to take aim again. Suddenly a loud whistle pierced the air, and Jeice and Sashi both smirked and dove to opposite sides.

"Okay, you showed me yours, now time to show you mine!" Calie grinned. She brandished the length of pipe, now wrapped in casing from some of the old wiring on the walls to protect her hands. A thick cable ran from one end of the pipe to the panel, which Webby was still helping to keep powered up. Talli stood to her other side, just hoping everything would hold together, as they probably wouldn't get many shots out of this gun. Calie raised the pipe, and the inside glowed brightly as lightning seemed to fill the length of it.

The technomancer's eyes widened, but before he could dodge a huge bolt of lightning shot out of the makeshift gun, striking him in the chest and sending him flying through the air. He struck the wall with a grunt and a loud thud, then collapsed to the ground, unmoving, while the still-smoking pipe landed several feet away.

Sashi ran foward and kicked the pipe down a wide grate that covered another smaller tunnel which led almost straight down. "Guess that takes care of him!" She moved back over and gave the technomancer a kick as well, just...well, just because she could.

Jeice snickered and shook her head, then glanced over at her teammates. "Wow, you three outdid yourselves with that one, nice idea with the gun!"

Calie and Talli grinned and high-fived, then Webby jumped in for a three way hug after shutting off the power again. "That was awesome!" She grinned, then glanced over to see still one last scuffle taking place.

OneToo and his sibling were still battling, but OneToo seemed to be getting the worst of it. Concerned, Webby moved closer and pulled out her sonic screwdriver one last time. The rest of the team moved closer, and everyone nodded in unison, before Talli gestured to Jeice. When OneToo was knocked backward, the nimble-footed ranger darted in and grabbed him, getting him out of harm's way as Webby pointed the screwdriver and forced Six to shut down.

Once all their enemies had finally been incapacitated, the Fallen Angels quickly turned their attention to Nancy and OneToo, making sure their friends were alright.

Wicked Prancing Ponies get medieval on some thugs All Hell was about to break loose, but for the moment it was that eerie quiet that only happens right before thunder rolls or mayhem ensues. Remi's eyes narrowed, Joysana's hand clenched on her cane, Arwen began almost hyperventilating, Nisa whispered, "The flute!" and just like that the momentary reverie was broken. Joysana lunged towards the brute closest to her, pulling one of her hidden daggers out as she went while yelling, "Remi! on your left!" Remi reacted like they had done this a million times before and dove for the man on the left's knees shoulder first in what would end up being a crippling attack if he landed it right. Nisa grabbed Arwen's hand and began streaking towards the technomancer. She jaggedly explained to Arwen that she must get that flute away from the man at all costs. Arwen nodded in understanding and balled her fists in anticipation of needing to punch. The ruffians seemed genuinely surprised that the seemingly helpless group had turned into such fierce aggressors and Six backed away with a look of surprise as well. That surprise worked in the group's favor. Remi hit his target so hard, the man practically flew off his feet and smacked his head into the tunnel wall with a satisfying "thunk" sound then crumpled to the floor. Remi stood up and looked at the man in shock. It was not his usual tactic to dive in like that, but he had just reacted on instinct. Joysana moved with speed and grace that the burly man she was heading towards simply couldn't match. He quickly found himself with an arm twisted tightly against his back and a dagger digging into his ribs through his vest. Joy hissed in his ear, "On your knees of your own accord or I'll put you there." She then turned him enough so that he could see there would be no help from the other man nor the technomancer...Nisa stood over the 3rd guard with her foot drawn back in preparation for another kick while he clutched his crotch and made little gagging sounds and Arwen had the technomancer's flute in her hand and was playing a dirge of sorts that had turned the army of ravenous rats to their side. The rats covered the technomancer so completely that the only way anyone could tell it was a man was the screaming and begging coming from under their massed bodies. Arwen held up her left hand showing the scraped knuckles then shrugged without missing a note. The man yielded quickly to Joysana's demand and knelt down with both hands behind his back in surrender. OneTwo and Six were nowhere to be seen for the moment, though sounds of a struggle came from just ahead in the tunnel. Remi(looking only slightly rumpled from his tussle and finding a new sense of assertiveness within himself he hadn't known existed) pointed to Arwen. "You...keep playing that flute until we have them all tied up. And you...(now pointing at Nisa) start finding something to tie them up with. And you (now pointing at Joysana) let's go find a bad kitty." Joy broke into what can only be described as a wicked smile and gleefully ran towards the sounds of the scuffle ahead. Around a slight bend in the tunnel, Remi and Joysana stumbled upon, well, a cat fight. It was an even match though and intervention was most definitely needed. Remi reached out to grab Six's tail and Joysana whacked him on the head with her cane. OneTwo quickly moved out of their way so as not to get hit by accident. Remi swung the cat by his tail into the wall (he was rather happy about the wall's effectiveness on the last guy, so figured why not try it again?) and Joy quickly settled her dagger deep into the joint between the cats head and neck. With a pop and a fizzle, the light went out of his eyes and he fell in a rattle and clank to the floor below him. "Oh no! I'm so sorry OneTwo...I didn't mean to kill him. I only meant to disable him." Joysana said with true remorse in her voice. Remi looked at the metallic pile and patted her shoulder, "I don't think you killed him Joy. I think he just powered down or you snicked a wire that put him in a sleep mode until repairs can be done." Joysana threw her arms around Remi's neck and and hugged him tightly, "Oh thank god! I really dislike killing when a good incapacitation works just as well." Remi blushed, gave a quick squeeze in return and turned back towards where the other girls were. Nisa and Arwen had done a bang up job getting the guards and technomancer tied up hand and foot. Arwen had stopped playing the flute though and Remi cocked his eyebrow as if to question it. Arwen quietly explained that after they had torn up their undershirts to make the restraints, she had piped a merry tune that sent the rats back down a different tunnel. Joysana nodded in appreciation for the Bard's talent and skill. The exhilaration of the fight was beginning to wear off and each began to sag a bit with exhaustion and relief. Nisa looked up from where she was leaning against a wall and smirked, "Skye is going to be so upset that she missed this." Maybe it was the adrenaline wearing off or maybe it was the sheer relief that they had done it, but they all seemed to find this terribly funny and fell into a giggling pile with their arms around each others shoulders.

Caution! Imaginations at Work ...

Sahara stands up and with wobbly legs, walks off the unbalanced straw pallets. Her wig off-center, and her moustache lopsided. "Whew! I did not expect that", Sahara mumbled as she straightens out her cover-up. "Bloody trap door!"

"Andros you okay? Chook, Elethia you two okay? Penelope?" Looking around she sees the shop owner Letty with, "Larianne! No, not Larianne." Shaking her head, "Princess Vertilline?" Sahara rubs her eyes from falling dirt just as part of the ceiling comes crashing down, "Bohicon look out!" Pulling her out of the way of more falling debris, Sahara coughs and covers her eyes. When the dust settles she looks up. "OneToo! Two Ones?"

Bohicon coughs, hacking up dirt, followed by a loud sneeze and a quick snort. Immediately embarrassed, her face turns bright red like a tomato. Everyone around her doesn't know how to react. They aren't sure what that sound was, but the sharp ones kind of have an idea. She smiles, "Excuse me." She then quickly looks around the enclosure, taking stock of anything that could be useful. Whispering, "Looks like only one guard." Nodding to the Princess and Shop Owner, "Letty, I don't think you can climb. Looks like you were knocked about pretty badly." Turning her head, scrutinizing Vertilline. "Do you think you can climb?" With new found strength the Princess nods positively. "We both go together or not at all. Friends are hard to come by these days and I won't leave her behind." Bohicon gives her a reassuring smile. "We're a resourceful bunch."

The group is pleased with their decision on not having to leave the Princess and Letty behind. While Sahara is tending to their injuries, Elethia signals to the two cats to wait for our signal once the ladder is finished before opening the ceiling further. Elethia nods at Chook who takes up one of the metal dishes and stands guard at the side of the door. Elethia turns to Penelope and with a broad smile whispers, "Lets do this!" They quickly gather together the three straw pallets, the strips of bandages, and one of the metal dishes. She figures if they can secure that on one end it will lend weight to the top part of the ladder to make it easier to toss up to the two cats. Elethia gazes at the crude construction of a ladder that they have to make and laughs. "Wow we're definitely going back to the basics with this one!" she states amused.

Penelope confidently smiles back at Elethia. "Time to make a ladder!" Penelope stares at the pile of materials wondering where to begin. After carefully constructing a plan in her head, she begins to pick up some straw pallets and uses some bandages to tie them together, making a makeshift ladder. Looking up at the ceiling, Penelope notices that the opening in the ceiling isn't wide enough to fit through. "OneToo!" She calls out quickly. The cat appears instantly. While pointing at the opening, Penny says "The opening isn't big enough! Can you help?" As if on cue, Elethia walks over and grabs one end of the homemade ladder. "Penelope, get the other side and we can lift it up," Elethia instructs. "Okay!" Penelope says as she helps lift the ladder up to the opening where OneToo has widened the opening.

After Elethia's initial signal, Chook waited impatiently at the inside door of the cell with one of the metal dishes in her hand. She knew it was just a matter of time until the guard would either hear noise or become suspicious of what they were up to. Sure enough as soon as Penelope signaled to the cats to open up the ceiling she heard the guard racing towards their cell. Waiting patiently, her mind only focused on defeating her enemy and nothing else. Sure enough the guard barges in and before he can yell for any backup she gives him a hard, sharp rap to the back of the head with the dish, silently cursing that she was unable to use a weapon that would cause bloodshed or a mortal wound. The guard collapses forward and she quickly catches him to keep the noise down to a minimum. After making sure that he is definitely knocked out and will stay that way for quite a while she calmly looks back at her teammates when she feels them staring at her. "What? You told me to stand guard didn't you? Lets hurry up before more of them come along!" Chook growls out.

"Okay, the ladder looks sturdy enough for us to climb out, let's give it a shot A-team!" Andros states while trying in vain to wipe off some of the dirt. Another sneeze from Bohicon startles him. "Umm nice one. Ha Ha Ha!" Andros murmurs amused. Trying to get back on track he pauses to straighten out his tall hairdo again! "I'm getting tired of this hair!" he grumbles to himself. "Help the ladies when they reach the top please TwoFer. Ladies, if you please. We don't have all day." All of the ladies on the team go up the makeshift ladder. Given the injuries that the Princess and Letty are dealing with, Andros provides them with the support that they need on getting up the ladder. Heck he even had to carry one of them halfway up and pass her to one of his teammates, who was reaching downward. After everyone is safely up the ladder, Andros pushes through the ceiling to get out of the enclosure while pulling up the ladder with him to prevent someone from following us. "Sure glad to get away from this place. Okay TwoFer, the show is all yours. Get us out of here!" Andros exclaims excitedly.

[b The Legends in the Tunnel]"I should have STAYED with Witchy!" TerrenaAnimula cries out.

"Lovecraft called it," Fresh says. "She mentioned something like this could happen, but what were the odds."

"Hope they are getting into trouble themselves," Flamingo huffs.

"I have an IDEA!" Tea_Roll announces and digs into her bag and pulls out a huge block of Camembert cheese.

"Where did you get that?" Flamingo asks.

"Better yet," TerrenaAnimula continues, "How did we not smell that?" And she holds her nose, as is Fresh.

"Do YOU really want me to go into one of my stories now?" Tea_Roll smiles at them. "You see back at the Squirrel..."

"NO!" Fresh yells. "Just do your idea. Let's see what it is."

With that, Tea_Roll throws her block of cheese down the tunnel. The rats lift their noses into the air and suddenly turn back and run toward the cheese. "See that will hold them off for a bit. I'm out of ideas. You guys deal with the others." Tea goes back into the bag and pulls out a piece of cake and sits down eating it.

"Seriously, cake at a time like this?" Fresh says exasperated.

With cake dripping out of her mouth, Tea_Roll stands back up from the ground. "I didn't want to do this," she says and starts stretching.

"What are you doing?" Fresh asks her.

"Well, Lovecraft beats me up enough I should be able to take on the three stupid guards easily," Tea_Roll replies. "I will channel my inner warrior training." With that, Tea takes off towards the three stupid guards who are staring at her confused cus she is yelling "COWABUNGA!!!" as she runs towards them.

She gets up close to them sticks out her tongue at them. "Nanny Nanny PoohPooh! Can't catch me!"

She starts running away from them. Not sure what to do, they start following her. She runs around in circles and you can notice as the guards seem to be getting dizzy. Then she runs towards a wall and right as she gets to it, she zigs away, but the guards are a bit slow and woozy from the running in circles and run right into it and fall backwards passed out.

"Tah Dah!" she says as she lands back in front of Fresh and TerrenaAnimula.

"That is your inner warrior?" Fresh questions.

"Well, I should have said my HOW to get away from a warrior moves," Tea_Roll says and sits back down.

"That she has plenty of practice with," TerrenaAnimula says.

"Now for OneSix and the Technomancer," Fresh says. "Anyone have any ideas?"

"Oh wait," Flamingo says digging into her pockets and pulling out some candy. "Not that!" She tosses the candy pieces into her mouth. "Here it is." She pulls out a Sonic Screwdriver.

TerrenaAnimula grabs it from her fast and looks it over. Flamingo sits down next to Tea_Roll.

"What is it?" Fresh asks.

"I saw a Doctor Who use this thing a few times," TerrenaAnimula says. "It can have control over robotic things."

"Do you know how to use it?" Fresh looks at TerrenaAnimula then Flamingo, who simply shrugs.

Terrena sits and fiddles with it for a few moments and smiles. "Think I got it!" She points the Sonic Screwdriver at OneSix and suddenly he slumps down. "Now lets see if I can figure out how to get him to do what I want." Terrena plays with the screwdriver a little more and OneSix sits back up and stares blankly at her.

"Is it working?" Fresh asks.

"Yup," TerrenaAnimula says. "Think so."

"Well get OneSix to deal with our final problem." Fresh says.

"With pleasure!" TerrenaAnimula responds and gives orders to OneSix.

OneSix turns towards the Technomancer who seems to be trying to regain control of the robot cat, but failing. The cat moves towards him and the Technomancer gives up and starts running away with OneSix following after.

"The Technomancer tried to regain OneSix, but failed. Why?" Flamingo questions.

"Sonic Screwdriver trumps everything in the universe basically," TerrenaAnimula says. "At least that is what the Doctor says.

"Works for me," Fresh says. "Lets get going before something else happens."
