"What do I think?" Gabriel echoed thoughtfully. "I think... Well, I don't know..." He stared at the food as Gio searched for his pizza. "I guess... I think..." He frowned. What did he think? "I think I'm going to miss you." He said at last. Normally, a teenage guy wouldn't admit something like that. But Gabriel happened to be the sensitive sort, and he wasn't embarrassed to make such a bold confession. It was the truth, after all, and Gabriel didn't think there was anything shameful about that. "It's going to be rather lonely in that group I've been assigned. I'm sure I'll become friends with everyone, but it won't be the same." He gave a sad smile and shrugged. "That's what I think."

"A good plan," Sergei replied to Harper. It was always comforting to know that the people he was working with had solid knowledge of what they were doing. When Harper looked down, he his eyes wandered over to a table where Nellie and Bo were talking. He noticed the pair seemed to be getting along well. Bo was smiling and laughing, which Sergei didn't find strange since he had only known the guy for a few hours.

However, his ears were still tuned in and he heard Vaughn's comment on crossword puzzles. He smiled and turned towards her. "I really can't think of anyone else who would find that fun," he chuckled.

He looked back over at Harper. Then his eyes shifted to where her books were. "I wonder what the temperature is like right now in Russia," he wondered, asking no one in particular.

"Hey, crossword puzzles aren't half bad. You really do have bad taste," Sorren replied. Puzzles are actually entertaining sometimes, especially locks too. He's seen Rogue at work many times, and fortunately, never on his Sorren's own door.

Sorren was eating at an amazing pace, having starved himself for half the morning. In no time at all, he had finished half of all his food.

Sergei laughed and scratched the back of his head slightly. "I meant encrypted crossword puzzles. They're already challenging enough without having to decipher the code," he responded, smirking a little. Sergei was a little amazed at how fast his friend ate. The boy's metabolism was unmatched.

"Oh, by the way Sorren, who's team are you on?," Sergei asked curiously. He had almost forgot to ask. If they weren't on the same team, after this week, they will be seeing less of each other, if at all.

-OOC- Mythology- nothing much. They just went to an assembly to learn their positions, and now they're at lunch. :)

And I was wondering, could they both be lock pickers? When I made Sorren, I really had intended him to be a spy of some sort, but Miah is kind of a spy too, so I'm not sure. I even mentioned lock picking in his skellie too, like he could worm into places and do some kind of unlocking of entrances or stuff. I don't know... D:

((Uh, basically they all got letters saying they were chosen for a mission to go to the Soviet Union to act on behalf of the US Government. They went to a meeting and were assigned positions within the group (which you get to choose). They were told about housing which I can tell you once you've chosen what your charrie will be within the group...now they're at lunch and some are...off doing other things, I guess.

Lunarbelle - yeah, sure! He could always be like a lookout or something for his team. Whatever you want ^^))

Vaughn chuckled, eyes sparkling. "I suppose I am, aren't I? And they're not so hard once you know the code and the key. That's the fun part." She turned her attention to Sorren. "You like crossword puzzles? I've been trying to make some recently, and I'd love for someone to test them out. What do you think, are you up to it?" She pushed some salad around on her tray, trying to get more dressing on the lettuce, then brought her fork up to her mouth and munched contentedly.

Harper was amused by Vaughn's odd interests, but had to agree with Sergei - she was a little touched in the head to like decrypting and solving coded crossword puzzles. "To answer your question, Sergei, it's actually pretty warm there right now. It's warmest in late spring and early summer. I'm glad, I was really worried I'd be cold the whole time and never get anything done."

(( Ahh, Okay-Laurel would probably be a warrior or a scout, so any group that needs one is the one he will be in ^^)) Laurel had finally found his way to the cafeteria. This place was really confusing if you hadn't ever been in the public places-Which Laurel hadn't as he was training for most of his time-and his spare time was spent reading-So the only place he knew really well was the library and the training hall. It didn't help that the sea of Hybrids had gotten him twisted and turned around. Laurel grabbed a tray and plates and loaded them up with whatever food was available-and he refilled one his three water bottles-after all, it was empty.

"Nice! A great way of defense!" Nellie laughed loosely. "All I can really do is fly, though I'm pretty good at karate too. Swimming isn't my best sport, it's really hard to swim when you have wings. Your feathers get all waterlogged." She explained quickly, then started on her food once again.

When Bo snickered, she smiled widely. "Sometimes adrenaline is a good thing." She said softly. "It always helps me get pumped up and usually win the fight. I understand in your case, though."

"Swimming isn't my best either. Porcupines aren't usually the best swimmers in the world." He chuckled, and took another bite of his apple. He was finding that it's become easier to talk with Nellie. Odd, he never really got close to people.

"I wish I could fly. It must feel awesome." He said, his voice slightly awed and a tinge envious.

Sergei smiled when Harper answered his question. He was only wondering out loud, but glad that someone was able to answer him. "Oh, that's good to know. I`m not very fond of the cold either," he said in a rather relieved tone. Of course, he was also glad it wasn't going to be too hot either. Warm and humid was bearable. He looked directly into Harper's eye, not really aware that he was doing so. He hadn't asked but was now certain she was a snake hybrid. He hadn't really thought about it before but her eyes gave it away. Plus her dislike of the cold. The question was, what kind of snake? This wasn't something he was eager to know right away so he didn't ask. However, she really clicked in Sergei's mind. Maybe because they had things in common. Or something else. He wasn't sure. When he finally realize he was still staring into her eyes, he looked away casually, glaring down at his lunch tray.

"Are you done?," he asked Harper, but avoid direct eye contact with her. "If you're done eating, we can go to the library now," he smiled, quickly looking up at her before gazing over to a clock hanging on a nearby wall.

"Oh yes! That'd be fun. I can't really do encrypting, but I'm pretty good at fitting stuff together, like locks, or figuring stuff out, like crosswords. Not encrypting though, no. I've snuck into classrooms before to get material for my homework, but I'm not as bold as Rogue," Sorren replied. He stuffed the last chunk of donut in and picked up his tray, "I'm going to go put the tray back."

After replacing the tray, he returned in time to see Sergei shift his eyes around in a nervous fashion. "Yes, lunch is almost over, anyways," he announced, chewing on a cookie.

Laurel had finished his food-well, if you could call it that. Personally, he thought that it was bland and tasteless, but hey-at least it was edible. With his belly full and his spare water restored, Laurel got up and headed toward his favourite place-The library.

OOC-I sent mine to gumdrop. I could post it here too if that's okay...Here it is...

Name: Laurel (No Surname) Gender: Male Age (between 15 and 25): 18 Animal DNA (one only): White Axolotl Appearance: Laurel has short cropped strawberry blonde hair, and he has heterochromia, with one eye a bright green and the other is completely black. His skin is very fair; And he is 5' 6'' weighing in at 130 lbs. exact. His gills are in the side of his neck and have been made to appear discreet-his short tail protrudes from the tail bone directly. Personality: Laurel is...odd. He seems to be a very exuberant and optimistic individual despite his harsh training in the military field-and he is bounding with energy. He nearly always has a smile on his face; save for sadness, anger, or concentration. He is only loyal to those he chooses to be loyal to...and that would be the other hybrids. Abilities: As Laurel's DNA was spliced with an Axolotl's, He has the tremendous and phenomenal trait that they share; Regeneration of limbs. Unlike the animal though, he cannot regenerate parts of the spine or brain. He can see extremely well underwater and can live quite happily there for extended periods of time Weaknesses: His regenerative nature is extremely painful for him, and he is vulnerable when he has to regrow his limbs; He cannot leave the water for extended periods of time otherwise he will get very sick. He cannot even travel with out at least a small source of water handy.

((Lunarbelle - sure, he can! I would prefer if he wasn't a spy because we already have a lot of those, but if you want to be it's fine.

Mythology - Well, you'd have to ask Krimzun, but I don't think Sergei's group is full yet. If not, there is another group he could be in.))

Harper had been chewing on some sandwhich when she noticed Sergei staring at her. As soon as she looked up he looked away. For some odd reason she was pleased with this. She had to fight down a smile, as she figured it would probably look rather odd for her to be sitting there with a silly smile on her face, eating her turkey sandwhich. When Sergei asked if she was ready, she swallowed and nodded. "Sure, let's go!"

She rose and picked her tray up, depositing its contents in the trash can nearby. Then she returned to the table and waited for Sergei.

Vaughn nodded and smiled at Sorren. She knew what he meant. Figuring things out was just...fun. Constant challenges mean you're never bored and your brain isn't rotting in your skull from lack of use. Not that she thought Sergei's and Harper's were, but she could definitely relate to Sorren's interests. "Have you ever tried a rubic's cube? If you haven't you can borrow one of mine. They're pretty fun and they don't get boring too quickly."

Vaughn stood as well, but waited to put her tray away until after Sorren replied. She had known she got along well with the other hybrid, but she didn't know they were interested in so many of the same things. She half wondered why he had turned out to be a warrior instead of a spy. Whatever, the facility directors were cracked in the head, anyway. There really wasn't much to be done about that.

-OOC- Ah hah! Pick-pocketing, lock-picking, sometimes-scouting warrior. XD There we go.

Mythology: That's good! It means that I'm not hallucinating. X3 Welcome, welcome!

-BIC- "Rubic's cube? Really? Thanks so much!" Sorren replied happily, "I used to have one, a long time ago, but someone broke it." He pulled a face, but continued on, "I haven't tried one in ages!"

As Sorren waited for Vaughn to return, he said goodbye to Harper and Sergei, promising them that next time, he'd definitely show them the ducks, but they have to go to the library today. Then he turned around and hid a grin. They were kind of interesting to watch, avoiding each other's eyes, but still keeping each other in their vision at all times.

"It's not the best. It's really hard to fly in strong winds. It's kind of fun, though." Nellie said quietly, noting the envious tone that Bo had when he mentioned her wings. "But they can be a pain. Swimming is hard, like I said before. Strong winds are horrible! And I have to eat a lot during the day or else I'll feel horrible!" She clucked her tongue and shook her head.

Spyder sat away from everyone else, with little on her plate. She wasn't really hungry, she was excited for the mission and a little nervous. Not having many friends, she chose to sit alone, away from everyone else. Sitting away from people helped her think.

Sergei watched as Harper got up to dispose of her tray. He got up and followed shortly after. He dumped all the trash into the trash bin and stacked the tray on top of a tower of trays near the trash can. He returned to the table and waved towards Sorren as well as Vaughn. "Later guys," he smiled and turned to exit the cafeteria. When he walked out into the hall, it much less noisy, and the sound faded as made his way down the nearly empty hall. Seemed like most students were eating, in class, in their rooms, or elsewhere.

"So, have you gotten your room and and everything yet?," he asked, making a little conversation as it seemed a little awkwardly quiet in the halls. "And what about classes?" There was only a week left before they left and wasn't sure if they even bothered placing Harper in classes just for a week.

((Krimzun, Is Sergei's group full yet?)) Laurel was walking quickly, steeling himself from running. It might several weeks until his group returned from where ever they were going-and there were several books Laurel wanted finish reading. He knew exactly where they were and and where he was in them, so he hardly noticed anyone around him.
