the only thing that irks me about the quote thing is when people don't use transparent images, so the white background overlaps and cuts off the quote box :s

I think it looks neat with some transparent images.

I can't say it really confuses me all that much.

Bolding it (the text around the actual post) doesnt make it any less confusing.

I don't mind that. I like sections and order, so having it in a quote box makes my tummy all warm and fuzzy. I just think that with some it looks horrid because it squishes it so you only get like... two words per line. T^T; But other than those, I think it's fine. I just hate the ones that you can't tell what they're saying... I don't even know how they think it looks cool when you reading a post and it suddenly turns into song lyrics...

I somewhat agree. I wish users could either pick one or the other. If you want a cute forumset to line your text, that's fine. If you want an image on right or left align on the side, that's fine. If you want a quote, that's fine.

But more than one of those makes things REALLY confusing. I skip over a lot of posts with too much crap in them.

I don't mind so much if the meat of the post is in a quote box, unless there's also a signature below, and a line of text above, and maybe an actual quote from somebody else, and an ad for their shop, and another ad for their DA and too much other crap. Sometimes simplicity really is the best route.

I don't really like those either. They are slightly confusing to me, but oh well. People still have unreadable, fugly-ass text colors, so we can't tell them what to do.

What's funny is that side images overlap quote boxes, so if you see someone with both, but the image isn't overlapping their text,

it means they are typing their sentences like this

which is fucking stupid as is, but now even more so. i generally skip their posts.

i could be wrong but i'm pretty certain the text automatically justfies around the pic or w/e because i've never seen anybody's text be overlapped by the picture, it's just the box itself that gets overlapped. that being said, there are some people who legit type like that and yeah it's stupid as fuck.

My signature has a quote in it, but I wouldn't put a quote box in my forumset.

It annoys me sometimes to see it right after or before the post... I'm like, "Wait, what does that have to do with- oh."

I think I've seen it before, but didn't notice what it actually was. So I guess I'm neutral because I don't really see it?
