I got taught around age 4 or 5. In the sea, haha. Before that I assume I just splashed around some. We had swim tests every year in school to make sure everyone could swim the assigned distance. In HS it was 1km :x took absolutely ages (I don't swim fast).
I am good at it but don't like getting wet for non-cleaning purposes. Too cold :(
THEY CAN'T BREAK YOU IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SPINE
Erm, when I was 5. My school (or at the time, my high school) has a swimming pool. So it was kinda required of me, and I really don't like swimming. >.< Also, my school's pool has a really high chlorine contain, which irritates my eyes and skin.
I learned to swim right after I learned to walk. Actually, all of us children have learned to swim just after walking.
I think I learnt when I was 7 or 8. I can't swim very far, but I love it. 'Specially in lakes.
When I was around 7 or so my family were in a pool, I sorta learned how to swim. Never went in the deep end, then my friends were playing marco-polo and they made me swim in the deep-end without me even knowing it. ;-; But I love swimming now. Just flail in water, it works.
I don't think I have ever met anyone who couldn't swim, or ride a bicycle. White people, anyway.
I am by no means a great swimmer, I can make my way around, and pretty fucking fast at that, but I swim like a dog.
I don't understand how someone wouldn't know how to swim.
I know how. I don't think I ever had lessons, or 'training' of any kind. Just normal stuff, like being in the pool and one parent would push you away and be like SWIM OVER THERE NOW. XD I did have 'training' for Girl Scouts, to get some sort of card so I could go canoeing. But I don't count it because I knew everything already. :p I didn't like Girl Scouts. They never believed I could know things without them teaching me. >.<
I love to swim. I'm on the swim team at my school. I'm actually pretty good, too. swimming = ❤ [edit]I don't know when I learned, though.
Yep, I know how to swim. Rather well too if I do say so myself. xD;
I remember exactly when I learned how to too. I was probably about 7 or 8 and over at my cousin's house swimming around in their pool with those little floaties on my arms. xD My older cousin was teaching her sister how to swim so I wanted to too. x3 Been swimming ever since. :3 That's pretty much exactly the reason I learned how to ride a bike too.
My other Aunt and her son don't know how to swim though. I honestly don't know how you can not know how to. You put either of them in water and they start flailing about. x.x I guess since I learned so young I just don't understand the idea of not being able to swim.
Obviously, I swim. I'm on a competitive swim club, so I have to swim VERY well. :P
I've been swimming since I was like, what, 4?
I can swim... in water like, 5 ft deep. XD I'm pathetic. Water is scary. I haven't been swimming in 4 years.
I took classes at the gym when I was about 4, but I believe I naturally and instinctively knew how to swim.
I can swim, I'm just not exactly the.. fastest swimmer around. :x I like paddling and splashing around for fun and that's it, really. I don't know when exactly I learned, but I remember taking lessons at around age 6 with my brother and friend. I vaguely knew how to before then, though (as far as I can remember).
Yeah, I learned to swim when I was five or six, in the lifeguard program thing. They taught you how to swim in levels at the local pool. :>
I looooooove swimming. It makes me feel so relaxed and free.

I learned how to swim when I was about...5? I taught myself. Swimming classes do nothing. :I I can swim pretty fast, too.
Yep. Im almost a lifeguard! It came naturally to me when I was 2. I just jumped and never wanted to come out again. :) Have fun at the party!! c:

I can doggy paddle. No one taught me how to doggy paddle. I just about drown in any pool. If I can't touch the bottom, I'm screwed.
