So I have a complaint, go figure.

I hate when people have quote boxes in their forum sets. It confuses the real quotes that actually have something to do with the content of the post. I know this complaint was done a long time ago, maybe not that long, but still. Just because the vertical forum set with the transparent background might look cool on top of the box doesn't mean every post needs a quote. Half the time the quotes aren't even cool or funny, they are just lame. And on the subject of lame quotes, putting a quote of something you've said is fairly lame. If it was cool enough to be shown off someone else would put it in their sig or something. But putting a quote of something you said does not make what you said cool.

So maybe my complaint is lame, but I am a bit irritated by it.

You're not the only one. I remember someone used to run around with the code box in the forumset. That was annoying too. Stop it people, it's not cool.

I agree. I mean, it's up to each individial person to decide what goes in their forum sets and if they like it, I guess it stays. They have to realise that not everyone is going to feel the same way though!

As long as it is clearly distinguishable from the post, I don't have a problem with it. -pokes signature- It's not like someone is going to notice it w/o a quote box, depending on how your post is designed.

I don't mind as much if the quote is in the siggy section or miles away from their actual post but I've seen people with a quoteboxforumtexthing directly under what they're saying without any spacing. That and people who speak in quote boxes. That shit is annoying :(

I'm talking about the people who put things in the quote boxes that either say that the quote is by them. Like this, something I actually said at one point last semester:

ARE THESE PEOPLE TRYING TO DECORATE THEIR POSTS BY ADDING A 1PX BORDER? IS THAT THE AIM? The 'Quote by ___' bit just cancels out any aesthetic cool points they MIGHT have earnt by having a one px border around their post.

I don't know what the aim is, but my guess is that they want to make themselves look cool.

I don't have a problem with quotes in the signature as long is its: -An actual quote that the person or someone else has said -Not Overlapping the the actual post -Can tell that its not part of the actual post

Quotes in the signature are not as bad as the quote boxes in the forum sets, though I still think quoting yourself, unless trying to reiterate a point, is fairly silly.

I have been tempted to make a rant about that for a while now. I'm sorry, but what compels people to quote themselves?? Do you really find yourself that clever and hilarious that you want the whole world (or in this case Subeta) to see it? Lol. If you didn't like something you said, then you wouldn't say it. A person doesn't post something and then think, "Wow, that was so dumb. Why would I even say that?" Even if you do want to show-off something you said, why do you need to put it in a quote box? XD I think we'll all assume that something written in your signature, if not otherwise credited, was said by you.
