No, we don't need a transfer system right now. There are other projects that staff could take on that more users would get to use/benefit from.
As previously pointed out by multiple people, it's not THAT hard to adopt out a pet and have it get to it's intended new owner - IF you are smart about it. Transferring a pet right after the pound was cleared and a bunch of new names became available is not smart. It's fairly common knowledge on the forums right now that someone(s) created a ton of pets with RW names and stuck them in the pound. In other words, it is fairly common knowledge that there are pound surfers in our midst... Hell I've recently checked the pound for decently named pets and I rarely both with that!
Pets are not items. They are not things that needs to be sold or traded. A transfer system would encourage that. Subeta does not need that kind of crap. People just need to be smarter about using the pound.
your friend is a pussy if she wants to quit over this. subeta doesnt need pussies, i hope she leaves
also, you two are just too slow. its been said many times and ill just repeat it because it needs to be said. speed yourself up and its all cool.
Besides that I think the staff said something along the lines of we weren't going to ever have a transfer system ever and I agree.
Subeta isn't just about the pets and pets AREN'T just items. It isn't hard to save and color your pets so why obsess over one lost pet in the pound. And if it was name you wanted like some other said just turn your pet common before pounding it. I saw LOTS of well named pets in the pound colored common that Id probably get.
Yupyup.
Fester, Mahar and Dragarths elixirs are all cheap in commons.
Amen to this as well.
Sorry for your friend, but why to quit? Are they gonna kill her/himself for losing 50 bucks? No. Okay, bad example.
And about transfer system It'd be a nice feature in my opinion. But I can see why it'd fail.
A common pet, even with the BEST NAME EVER won't be snagged in seconds if you TRANSFER SMARTLY.
Alright, I think it's obvious that we aren't going to agree on a transfer system. But what about a Reserve system?
Let's say you 'bribe' the clerk at Adopt-R-Us with SP, and then only the user you specify can see the pet. The more SP you pay, the longer the pet is reserved-say, up to 2-5 minutes. It's not exactly a transfer system, but it would make it much easier for pets to go to the intended owner.
As for people mocking those who have lost pets....I'll admit quitting might be a little extreme, but you really don't know how shitty it feels until it happens to you. Especially if your pet is snatched up by a hairy, tick-infested monkey dick who can't even capitalize her words correctly and will use the poor thing as little more than a trophy. :P
We don't NEED a transfer system. If done right, you will rarely miss and I echo what most have said. Turning a pet common will make it less adoptable and will give you a greater chance of getting it.
Quitting is stupid and the pound IS fair game, grow up, you missed it, YOUR FAULT. period.
Lurking like lurkers do...
Wow, you're really saying that about your friend on a public forum. I hope she doesn't come here and see. It seemed like you were standing up for her but really you're just following what everyone else is saying. :/
- It's just something I feel, because they're pixels, but I'm attached to mine, too, and I've lost pets also, and I just took a hiatus, so now I'm not sure who's side I'm on. o3o;
Cleared by staff, oversized.
, I honestly think you and your friends are getting WAY too worked up over one freaking pet. It's just a pet. They had no obligation to answer your comments or mails, and harassing them certainly was not the answer. The more you keep throwing a fit over it and tossing insults around, the less likely anyone is to sympathize. :| At this point I'm honestly disgusted by how you in particular have handled it.
- several years ago I transferred an Angelic Pherret to a friend while there were only 100-200 pets in the pound. It's all about communication.
The problem I have with direct transfer is that there's nothing to stop people from privately trading pets. With the guarantee that a pet will definitely get from Point A to Point B, people will be more confident about swapping pets for other pets, or sp/items, or even cash.
wait, are these trading system boards all about the same person? xDDDD

I agree. It's not like you people asked politely for the pet back one time and the user was rude to you and blocked you. It's also not like the person has snagged the pet, been rude, then turned around and tried to put it UFA.
The way I see it, you are in the wrong because you are pitching a huge fit, insulting someone who adopted the pet fair and square, and harassed the person by begging.
Well damn, did you guys ping me enough times? XD
Anyway, we DID ask politely...at first. It's when the person started ignoring our mails and blocking us that we started to get a little pissed off.
The person had the right to ignore your mails and block you, especially after you wouldn't take no for an answer. Looking at the quote that was posted on the first page, it looked like the user politely told you no and then you proceeded to beg, which is rude.
The person was well within their rights to decline or ignore you. Harassing them about it just makes you a dick.
Seems like a LOT of people sent her mails about this (Pastry, Voldemort, Dakktota, board creator & you) and commented her, when she already said no once :| If so many people harassed me about a pet I adopted, I'd have just blocked and ignored you too.
I'm sorry about your friend's loss, but I don't think you guys handled it well.
Why do so many people need to get involved? Do they think that ganging up on someone that did nothing wrong will guilt the person into disowning the pet?
