I don't want to mouth off about my job too much, which I have been really unhappy about for the past 3 months. (I would love to just pack up and leave, like also leave this part of the state I feel trapped) I work in the bland but steady office cubical world as a graphic artist - of sorts. My goal is to be a real graphic designer some day. Lets just say, 2 years so far of my career has been an eye opening experience. I have learned a lot and get whiffs of the nasty attitudes that customers pull, even if I don't directly work with them thank god. I just really really despise office politics, poor decisions being made, words that are not being kept, the penny pinching, and feeling under appreciated as a graphic designer "'cause yeah just go do your computer thingy and give that to me right now!" - which is a battle I will always be fighting.
i work for KPMG and whilst they are pretty good and the perks etc are great, definitely not looking forward to racking up 35+ days in TOIL during busy season. God damn companies all requiring an audit at the same time! :p
i work at a bakery chain called greggs. its actually quite decent. i get a long well with most of the people which is great!!! and the pay is really good which always helps he he ha ha. but my supervisor is quite literally the worst person. shes so bad at her job its irritating and shes constantly telling customers "oh i hate my job" which is a bit shit haha. we are stupidly understaffed at the moment tho which is a pain when your whole life basically revolved around work because you're working long shifts pretty much every day, and if you have plans and are asked to work longer and you say you can't, you get such shit for it and its so annoying. but for the most part is great cos i get a lot of money haha. tho to be fair i was being underpaid for literally months. and i'd tell my manager about it and she'd be like "i've sorted it" when she quite clearly hadn't. wasn't until i rung up payroll that anything was done. the customers are better than the ones ive dealt with at my previous job. you do get the rude customers but thats a given. our regulars are absolute darlings tho. theres this one customer who comes in a lot and she is the rudest. like she can see that you are doing something and you'll say to her "i'll be with you in a minute" and yet she just does not give a fuck. urgh -.- i've never really had a proper complaint made against me tho ^_^
