"Oh yes Freddie, this little girl is quite healthy...with a strong set of lungs on her too." Reina handing the wiggling pink baby off to Bohicon. Positioning herself she readied to assist with the other births. "Okay, Freddie, rest for a bit and when you feel you need to, we can push. It seems like this little girl wanted to be the Diva." This was the first birthing she wasn't assisting her master with. Though she was nervous she knew exactly what to do, and should any problem arise she knew how to resolve it. She smiled reassuringly to Freddie as she waited.

The "shop" as Weldon referred to it was where he spent a lot of time when he wasn't cooking or reading. The shop took up the ground level of the old shipping warehouse that Frieda's cousin Sparky had purchased five years ago before he brought Frieda and Weldon to Subeta from Terra, their home world. Weldon had massive glass doors installed in the front and along the sides so that Frieda's pride and joy, Passion Flower could be on display when she was in her hanger. The floors were gleaming painted concrete floors, there was beautiful display lighting that illuminated the little fighter jet. The hanger was open all the way up into the second floor, and Passion Flower could be viewed from the dining room, the landing balcony and the living room. Guests entered the house from the hanger bay front door and took a spiral staircase up to their home.

But it was the shop that was Weldon's pride and joy. Besides the banks of bright red tool boxes, gleaming chrome steel work benches and other immaculately kept repair equipment and machinery, Weldon kept a spacious lounge for himself and his guests. There was a small fireplace, soft leather sofas and wing-back chairs, a cafe table, coffee maker microwave and small bar that was well stocked with all kinds of refreshments. He would call it a man-cave, if he were a man, but he was a weasel in a humanoid body, so he called it his shop.

Weldon knew he was out of line fussing and fretting and he said so, [/color]"You know, you're right Red Calypso, I really shouldn't worry. It's just that I've known Frieda all her life. I was there the day she was born, I was the first to hold her and I imprinted on her. I know what she's like and that cute little female has got a history. Nobody I know could pull more trouble out of thin air as she has managed in her six long years of life. So, I'm going to have a drink and relax. Can I refill your glass?"[color=purple]

Frieda was so curious and really wanted Bohicon to bring the baby over, but she had two sons who were waiting on their mommy to get to business and finish the job. Frieda panted for a moment and said nothing, but she concentrated on sending thoughts of confidence to Reina. After a few moments of rest, the contractions started up again "Another one, Reina." She took another breath and pushed and she fell into a trans-like state of euphoria as she delivered her second pup, a little male.

Red Calypso smiled and handed him her glass. "That would be very nice, thank you."

Chook awoke from her coma with a shudder and a wince. 'OMG. ........ this happens to me ever since my accident. I just go into a catatonic state come out of it when something important is going on." "Have I missed the birth. Oh. Then I'd better get up with Freddie. She needs me.' "Yes, I am fine. I can handle this easily. Much easier delivering weasels that having an entire arm up a cow delivering a calf." "Freddie, Bohicon. Here better late than never. Now Reina what can I do? Anything to help you will be good."

Red Calypso blinked at Chook's lightning fast delivery and equally fast dash for the bedroom. "Now how in the world did I miss the comatose body laying around?" she mused.

Bohicon gazed at the sweet little one in her arms and wrapped her carefully in the soft blanket. She knew it was time to hand the dear pup to Frieda but she held her for just a bit longer. She looked up to see Chook entering the room and smiled as she showed her the first born. Then she tucked the baby in bed next to Frieda just in time to pick up another blanket and reach for the next pup from Reina.

Chook clucked and cooed over the first of the litter, and then went and held Freddie hand as Reina and Bohicon were coping wonderfully.

Frieda felt 's hand in her paw and took strength from it. One final push delivered her third pup, another little male. She gasped and looked up into Chook's eyes, "Somebody needs to tell Welly to come up here so he can name the babies. Bring and here too, I want them to meet my offspring too. How are they ? Are they alright?"

Bohicon was surprised at the small turn of events. She was so nervous in the beginning and now felt completely calm as she smiled in wonder at the sweet wiggling babies. She looked at Frieda who was calm at the start and now looked a bit anxious for her babies..."The babies are just perfect" she told Frieda, "don't worry about a thing, just relax, you must be exhausted" Bohicon looked at Chook who was smiling and then looked at Reina who had done such a wonderful job of helping the little ones into the world. She hugged Frieda gently, patted the pups and then sank into a chair feeling content, yet somewhat exhausted herself.

Chook scurried away to tell Welly, bcsam and redcalypso the good news and to tell them that Freida was asking for them. She found them in the kitchen. Welly pacing up and down, the other 2 sitting at the table drinking coffee and eating some gingerbread. On hearing the good news they all headed off to the bedroom, letting Welly go first for a private moment before they entered.

Reina wiped her brow, she was exhausted from the whole thing. Thankful that it was a safe birth she quietly removed her gloves and left the room, letting Weldon and Freddie be with their family. She found her way down to the kitchen for a cup of coffee before she left.

Red Calypso glanced at her watch as she waited out in the hall with Sam and the others. She would have to leave in half an hour to make it back to the ship she arrived on before it cast off. She hoped she would have time to see the new pups and congratulate Frieda before she had to leave.

Bohicon saw Welly enter the room and after congratulating him on the beautiful babies she left to find the kitchen - she realized the strange noise she had been hearing was her own growling stomach! She found some coffee and gingerbread and settled into a comfy chair to relax and ponder the joy of holding each baby and wrapping the little darlings in their soft blankets. She was eager to hear the names of the little ones and was thinking of just that when she dozed in the big chair...

Chook came downstairs to the lounge where Weldon, Bcsam, and Red Calypso were waiting and announced that the mother and babies were fine and that Frieda had asked for Weldon to join his little family. He thanked Chook, gave her a hug before encouraging his friends to join him upstairs. The naming of his children was a tradition to be witnessed by all those in attendance.

He climbed the spiral staircase, but he didn't feel the steps under his paws, nor did he feel the carpet under his feet as he glided down the hall to the room. He met Reina just as she was finishing taking off her gloves and packing her satchel. He hugged her and thanked her for being there for Frieda, the babies and for him.

Frieda was sitting up in the bed, the covers pulled up over her lap and she was holding the little female, the first-borne of the litter. Frieda looked tired, her hair was still a little damp from her delivery, but she was smiling, and to Weldon she was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. 'How could she become even more beautiful then she already was before?' he asked himself. He climbed onto the bed to sit next to her, carefully hugged her and kissed her tenderly. He looked down at the little bundle in her arms and drew away the baby's blanket to inspect his newest little offspring, [/color]"Lady Frieda, she is the spitting image of you when you were born. She is the spitting image of Aya. She carries your markings right down to the arrow on the tail. You know what this means don't you?"

Frieda smiled, "It means that you have to give her a name before she freezes, silly weasel." She giggled, "Yes, of course I know what it means, it means the prophesy is finally fulfilled. I don't care about that I care that these little ones get a proper name. So what shall we call her?"

Weldon took her in his paws and held her up to their friends. "She shall be called Glendolyn Alana 'DJ' and she shall be known as one who accomplishes great things. We can call her Glenda for short."

Frieda took Glenda from Weldon's paws and wrapped her up and asked Bohicon to bring the second-born and to 'trade babies.' She gave the little male to Weldon who gingerly unwrapped him and inspected him carefully. "Frieda, his markings are identical to your brother's. He looks like he's going to be jet black with a white arrow on his tail. So, I name him Samwell Friedrich Gladstone in honor of your brother and our good friend Sam. We can call him Sami in the tradition of our tribe. He will be one who digs deep and finds truth."

When Bohicon brought the last pup, the other male, Weldon was not surprised that he was the smallest of the three, but he was vocal and his little cries brought a tear of happiness to his father's eyes. Weldon unwrapped him and held him close and whispered sweet cooing soothing sounds until the little one quieted down. "Frieda, my darling, this little one is hungry again. I'm going to have to hurry so that we can leave you in peace to take care of that. You hear how sweetly he cries? Did you see how quickly he calmed down, even though his tummy is hungry? This little one has a very trusting and sweet nature, he will be the source of much joy and happiness. I name him Buckmeister Chadwick 'Kim' or 'Bucky' as our tradition. He gave the pup to Frieda who held him close as she wrapped him.

Weldon leaned over and kissed Frieda tenderly and stroked her face with his paw before getting up to usher their guests downstairs for some champagne and some snacks he had prepared earlier in the morning. After he saw to the needs of his guests, he sneaked back upstairs with a plate of food and some fruit juice for Frieda and helped put a satisfied Bucky back in the crib with his siblings. Weldon climbed back up on the bed and helped Frieda with her plate and napkin and pillows and blanket. It didn't take long for the champagne to have it's effect on Weldon and the tasty food the have it's effect on Frieda. Within a few moments, both of them had drifted off into a peaceful sleep, oblivious to the cares of the world. To them, the New Year had started on a very positive note, which in and of itself was a very good omen. For you see, good omens are a rare commodity on Omen Islands these days.

Frieda and Weldon respectfully request that no gifts be given, but request that a trapped minion be released, one in honor of each pup, or that donations be made to the donation center, or that an abandoned pet be adopted instead. Of course cookies are not gifts and are always gladly accepted, except be sure to hand them over directly to Lady Frieda because Weldon is usually a hog and only lets Lady Frieda eat three-quarters of the package instead of the whole thing....

Red Calypso joined the others in a toast to the new family then quietly exited the house, hurrying off to the docks.

Chook respectfully acknowledges the wishes of the parents re gifts. Frees 3 trapped minions, also makes donations and sends Freddie some cookies, making a note on the package that says harmful to new fathers, for lactating wives only .Chook wonders why left for the docks so quietly. Mind ponders her meeting up with Drunk Carl or a secret meeting at Rathskeller Inn.

Bohicon looked on as the babies were named. Little Glenda, Sami and Bucky...a tear found its way down her cheek as she heard that DJ was included in sweet Glenda's name. She would never forget this day.

As Bohicon enjoyed some of the delicious snacks Welly had prepared, she raised a glass of champagne with Chook to toast the arrival of the dear little ones. She had hoped to talk with Red Calypso also, but she left in a hurry. Bohicon hoped she would see her again soon. As they relaxed by the fire, Bohicon asked Chook if she would be staying for awhile to help with the babies. Bohicon had traveled from Centropolis and had rented a cabin at Rathskellers Inn. "It should be fine as long as I don't eat anything there" said Bohicon with a smile. "I would like to stay nearby for awhile in case Frieda needs any help"...the real reason though, was a selfish one...she wanted to hold the babies again!

Congratulations, and Weldon! May your family know nothing but love and joy.
