Red Calypso gave an amused snort. "Not for you, maybe. You've been through this before. I've never seen a birth before, so I reserve the right to panic."

Hurrying her pace as she neared Freddie and Weldon's home, Reina quickly tied her long braid back. She was quite thankful that she had gotten the call before she had a chance to have an refreshments at the party. It was not a good idea to go assist with a labor when her mind was dulled. Without even knocking, she pushed the door open, "Mrs. Freddie, Mr. Weldon? I came as fast as I could. Unfortunately I could not get a hold of my master. I did hear last week she was battling a flu. But fear not, I have been taught well and shall be more than able to bring in your babes. " Reina quipped as she entered the room, her green cheeks flushed pink from her running. She saw that Freddie was being helped by two unknown ladies. She quickly cleared her throat, her voice having gotten caught with the sight of the unknown ladies. "I'll hurry ahead and start the preparations." Her head gave a quick bow as she shuffled out of the room and towards the master suite. She had always been shy around those she didn't know, a fall back to times as a child she was teased about her green skin.

Frieda smiled as Reina entered her room. "Reina, I'm so glad to see you. There is a delivery pack all ready on the dressing table over there. Just unwrap it and take what you need. Oh, don't let me be rude, and let me introduce you to Red Calypso and Bohicon, dear friends of mine. Chook is around here somewhere and Welly and Bcsam went downstairs to do manly things."

As she made her introductions, she was gripped by another labor pain, "Bohicon, if you would be so kind as to draw the covers off the bed," she gasped in a few breaths and gripped Red Calypso's arm, " Red Calypso, if you could help me out of my robe and gown and then help me get on the bed." Frieda stood stock still until the pains ceased. "Reina, Your timing is perfect, there's no to panic, but I think I'm ready."

Red Calypso didn't hesitate to help her out of her clothes. Growing up in a small house with several sisters and a mother had disabused her of false modesty growing up. She then helped Frieda over to the bed.

Bohicon made it to the bed covers just in time and pulled them back as Red Calypso helped Frieda to lay down. Bohicon turned to Reina and told her how happy she was to see her. She also explained to Reina that she is eager to help but needs specific instructions to keep the panic at bay. "What an exciting time" thought Bohicon, "I hope I can be of some help".

Red Calypso quickly retreated to stand by the door. Helping with the actual birth itself was beyond her. She was bound to faint at a critical moment if she tried, which would not help Frieda in the slightest.

Frieda sensed Red Calypso's emotions and smiled at her, "Sweetheart, come sit up here on the bed next to me and hold my paw." She patted the spot on her left side where she wanted her to sit. "I just need you to hold my paw and tell me that everything is going to be OK. Can you do that for me?" She turned to Bohicon and smiled, "Bohicon, just had Reina whatever she asks for, and when she hands you a baby pup, just wrap her up in a baby blanket and bring her to me." She giggled and added, "The pup, that is, not Reina."

Frieda took a deep breath and winced, then looked up at Reina, "Reina, I think it's happening. Are you ready?"

Red Calypso shuddered at the thought of being so close to a birth, but still....Frieda needed her...She took a step towards the bed, then quickly retreated. She kept repeating her actions, til it looked like she was doing some sort of bizarre dance.

Bohicon smiled at Frieda and made every effort to look confident and capable, though she was not feeling it. She glanced around and saw the soft baby blankets and hoped she would know how to wrap the dear little pups properly. She watched Reina, who was calmly making the final preparations and tried to channel that calm while she waited for instructions.

Reina smiled, "Of course I am, Bohicon, if you could put on gloves and get ready with a blanket we can begin. Um... Miss Red Calypso it would help Freddie if you held her paw. If you stay up towards her head it wont be so bad." She laughed as she positioned herself at Freddie. Reina steadied her breathing as she prepared to help birth Freddie's litter. "Okay Freddie, give me a good push."

Red Calypso swayed dizzily as she heard the word "push". It was too much, she just couldn't stay in the room. Fumbling for the doorknob, she jerked the door open and fled. 'I wonder what the men are up to...'

Hello Red,come and join the rest of us that are anxiously awaiting sweet little faces.I always did like looking over tiny little feet and hands or in this case.....paws and tails :) How about a nice snort to relax the nerves a bit?I can make a good tonic if you like.Ha Ha Ha......i find it brings a light flush to the face and lets you know that the belly is there all the way down to your toes.What do you say?Are the girls doing alright so far?How far along are they?Weldon do you have a bit of mineral water?I feel i could use a little with ice......

Red Calypso smiled gratefully at Sam. "That would be nice, thank you. My nerves are kind of shot right now." She sighed ruefully. "I hated being such a coward when Frieda needed me, but I just broke and ran." She took the glass that Sam offered her and sat down in a very comfortable chair.

Twirling Fenderstrats hair atop of his head,Fenderstrat knew that i was worried and wanting everything to go along smoothly.......I forgot to get you something to drink to my pal.....Goes to the cooler and pulls out some sealed up water containers and snaps the lids open.Filling up a bowl half full and places it down in front of Fenderstrat.Checking my watch i see that it isn't time for food yet but pulls out the second bowl and puts i down too.Now that's just to remind me that i still have to feed you pal.And with a big sigh......................sits and sips a strong shot from the glass.

Red Calypso sipped at her drink, staring idly into space and wondering how things were going with Frieda. "Hey, has anyone seen ? Did she have to leave or something?"

Weldon wasn't a bit surprised to see Red Calypso join Sam and him downstairs in Passion Flower's hanger bay. He remembered the last time Frieda had pups and had it not been for the fact that there was a raging hurricane, he would have gladly stayed away, but he had been compelled to help in the delivery. But it took a lot out of him and he didn't really help Frieda's attitude much with his concern and panic. Frieda could read emotions like Weldon could read a book and today Weldon was working extra hard to portray an emotion of calm. But inside he was a nervous wreck. He silently got Sam some ice and mineral water, and smiled at Red Calypso. [/color][color=green]"Don't you worry about Frieda, she knows your heart and she is very glad you are here. Reina is super and she will take care of everything for Frieda. I'm the one who probably needs a drink right now though. I'm just waiting for the roof to cave in or a volcano to erupt or for an alien invasion. This isn't like me."

Red Calypso stared at him in alarm. "Good Lord, man! Don't tempt Murphy like that!" She reached over and knocked three times on the wooden end table for luck. "I'm sure you're right about Frieda being in good hands."

Bohicon understood Red Calypso's quick exit. She was nervous too as she put on the gloves and picked up a blanket. She walked over to Frieda and patted her paw then looked to Reina, ready to receive the first pup.

Frieda panted again, took a deep breath and pushed. She hurt and wanted to cry, but she was no longer a little pup herself. In the brief moments of time between pushes, she recalled all that had happened to her since her arrival on Subeta over four years ago as a very young adolescent fleeing from her home world, wrongfully accused of murder by the leader of a political faction known as the Black Arrow. In the past her response to any emotional situation had been to burst into tears. Now, as a mom, mate and Master Healer, she was strong and she could bear the pain with a little more dignity. On the next push she heard a cry and immediately felt the emotion in the room rise to the occasion, "Is that the little female? " she asked, panting "The ultrasound said the little female would be first. Oh, Reina, Is she OK?"

[/color][color=green]Weldon gave a nervous chuckle, "Oh, don't mind me, I'm not superstitious, much, and you can't really bring down a curse on yourself unless you believe in that sort of thing. " Weldon crossed himself and 'spit' on his crossed fingers.

Red Calypso giggled in amusement at Weldon, then took another sip of her drink She sighed, waiting for news was rather trying. . Idly she looked around the room they were sitting in, noting how comfortable it was.
