I don't quite understand why people are into that book. It really does amaze me.

I read it. It's so obviously Twilight porn I'm surprised she didn't get sued. It's really, really bad. I like light BDSM so I thought I might like it. NO.
The dialogue is poor, and the inner monologue is completely, hilariously terrible. The sex scenes are weirdly... weird. They're bad, so not even the, like, three that were in there made up for the awful plot.

50 Shades of Grey seems like a very interesting read.

I'm excited and apprehensive to read it.

After 2 months, I finally finished the first book. I just kept losing interest after reading the same scene every 5 pages, including countless "oh my's", breathes/whispers, inner goddesses and "down there's"... As far as a storyline goes, I'm still waiting for that (I'll see how long it takes me to get through book 2 and 3). They meet, they have sex. That's about it for the first one.

That book terrifies me. And why the hell they can't say penis and vagina? Are you kidding me? I'd not spend a dollar for the trilogy.I read some excerpt and all it talks about is sex. Just plain boring. And it sells?Holy shit xD (Brb I'm making a boring sex best-seller in a sec)

, I read it online too. I did NOT wanna pay for that pile of crap. Did you guys know there's actually a magazine about this? Like, fully dedicated to it?

But it was like E.L. James had no grip on her characters. No solidity whatsoever. Even the bodyguard and his family lived with them in the end! WHAT! I'm thinking it was just a fantasy novel for her and wanted to see if it could ACTUALLY get published. ALSO. They might make a movie. Yep. You heard me.

Im an avid reader, my coworkers know this, they had the balls to ask me to read it because it was such a great book. Mind you none of them read. They all jumped on the band wagon because it was a book that was basically porn. If the whole sex scenes were removed from the book it would not have any kind of standing at all. I have read pieces of this novel and I will never touch it, EVER. I had a friend earlier today say it has done great things for her and her boyfriends sex life. Im like what seriously you could watch porn thats better then this book >_> there are ROMANCE novels that have better sex scenes then this book and they don't call their parts "THERE" I have no clue how this book got popular but its just terrible but it shows what kinda world we live in, half of society have no clue what good literature is anymore.

Personally I really enjoyed it. It was something I read when I was just in the mood for smut, not so much a deep story line. Maybe I just enjoyed it because I am ignored by guys, and the idea of finding myself a "Christian Grey" is a nice fantasy. Ialsoliketheideaofbeingspanked

cough Anyways, there are some things that get a bit annoying. Her constantly saying "Down There" that's annoying. Maybe the author is just afraid of calling a vagina a vagina, or any other choice words for vagina. I can understand that, because sometimes you worry your readers will freak out because you just said "vagina", but that's something you have to get over, because it's better than "Down there". Another annoying thing is how much the characters frown. They frown a lot.

On a side note: It really annoys me how people treat anyone who enjoyed it, like they know nothing about literature. People are so rude, and it's like... I didn't pick up this book in order to gain some knowledge about writing, literature, the english language, etc. It was just a fun read for my free time, nothing more.

My roommate's friend was telling me about how much she loved it and it sounds like what it is, Twilight fan fiction - except worse! I don't expect I'll be reading it any time soon.

Not yet, I'll read it one day. Until then I am left with these excerpts and readings... and it honestly resembles a badfic more than a novel. Just another unmemorable trashy thing, I thought... but then I realized it's a bestseller. What.

It was sooooo funny! It's almost like Stephenie Meyers used a different name and wrote these. And they are sooooo similar. Book 1 they fall in love. Book 2 She left. Book 3 they got married. Like c'mon. Really.

I'm pretty sure every time she mentioned her inner goddess I laughed and then proceeded to die a little inside. Especially when I was reading it at school and I laughed out loud and got weird looks from my friends because they didn't get it and had to be told that "she doesn't muthafuckin shut up about her inner goddess"
EDIT. Also just remembered they got married within 4 or so weeks of meeting. haha oh jesus this book is retarded bitch please you don't even know each other, don't give me any "he broke down and went into sub mode" or "he took my virginity so we somehow know each others souls" crap.

I listened to a Let's Player called ChaoticMonki read a page from it. I both laughed and died a little at the same time. It also made me insanely aware of how every sex scene I've ever read had been written. I look at some of my favorite books very differently now ;_; I also burst out laughing when I heard some guy mistake it for the infamously bad fanfic known as "My Immortal" XD

I actually enjoyed 50 Shades, but sometimes I like reading a good cheesy book. There were parts that were really repetitive, but it was an entertaining read.

I read it. It took about 3 weeks for me to get through the first book. It was just so easy to put down and forget about. It's really the only book I've struggled to read. But the last chapter is a cliff hanger, so I had to go get the second. I liked it well enough and bought the third. The third is my favorite.

I've actually read it twice. Its a terrible series, badly written and horribly cliche'd and just... amateur. But its a quick read and passes the time. And it gives me hope that if something that shitty can become a best seller than imagine what I could do if I got published!

I haven't read the series. I had read that it was basically a Twilight fanfiction that had been rewritten and turned into a novel, which was the first thing that was offputting. I decided that I would try to give it a chance, and my friend had the pdf for her kindle, so she sent it to me and challenged me to get through even the first ten pages. I couldn't even get through the first page without wanting to claw my eyes out. Something about the writing style just bothers me.

As much as I try - I can not take the first book seriously.

And I'm damn glad that I have borrowed the first volume of a girlfriend. Although - she did't want him back. I think, i'll burn them.

Let me permanently delete my account instead of just "freezing" it.

Really?

I'd rather read the Subetan advertisings on SBQ wearables than anything derived from Twilight :P Especially lame scenes with naked people trying to be bondage porn.
