I came across one of those historical Facebook posts about a homeless man who was given $100,000 as an experiment. It was turned into a documentary and had a pretty sad ending. That made me wonder, how would most people handle it? I know what I would do.

1. Finish paying off my debts.
2. Get my house leveled, it really needs it.
3. Get my front porch leveled, it's way off kilter.
4. Basic repair work on the house.
5. If there's enough left. have the kitchen windows turned into a patio door and have a deck built.

How about the rest of you? How would you spend $100,000?

I'd give it to my grand daughter to put a deposit on a house. Costs are so ridiculous here. She is paying $600 a week rent, and an average house where she is costs

So no idea if that amount would cover a deposit.

Geez, why are houses so expensive there? My parents bought their dream house in 1970 for $15,000, I bought mine in 1994 for $55,000 and even today it's only around $169,000.
