I can't knit/sew anything now :( my gran taught me how to knit socks with 3 needles than did crochet a blanket. After that tried to make our daughter a sweater on the round needles . Got about three quarters done than couldn't follow the pattern my gran passed so couldn't get her to teach me anymore so yup I was done for after that. I learn most stuff by watching an repeating . Now its even worse since after some health issues :( I do miss doing them though. Koodos to those that can . I've seen an ad on Facebook for a kit for beginning crochet.

Mine are gone a long time ago.But i can see how to do some crochet stuff online on utub...if that helps. :)

It's super discouraging when you just start out and the kit is too difficult! If it's a cross stitch kit, try to see how many colors it has. The fewer colors and the more distinct those are, the easier it will be. At least it was like that for me. Starting out with 17 shades of brown is pretty hard. But a pattern with bright pink, orange, yellow, green and blue is much easier to follow. If the one you have is too hard, then maybe try to find an easier one to get started. After that it's a lot easier to manage one with a bit more colors.

I think I started out with one that was way too ambitious. It's a peacock that I thought was gorgeous. What I'd really like to do is try to pick up hand sewing. I'd love to try to make Barbie clothes.

awww thank you both so much for the offer. Unfortunately my hands will not let me work with needles. Have even tried the plastic rather than steel but due to arthritis etc. is just not workable :( an I thank you both so much for trying to help me though.... an this is why I <3 our bears always there for each other xoxoxo

(I really do appreciate you voicing your opinions instead of people like me just complaing about it here. 🤣) I give Keith a lot of credit, I thought his post was well thought out and from the heart.
