How close are you to the achievement? Or just throwing snowballs for fun?

You mean 457/30000. :) It goes pretty fast if you use two 1/2 size windows side by side buying in 1 & throwing in the other. If you buy the same snowball & throw at the same person you just need to refresh in the throw window. Also throwing them at yourself counts.

Four more days and I finally get to have my shoulder fixed. I go in for surgery on Thursday. There are three tendons that they have to repair so I am dreading it, but also looking forward to a time in which I can move my arm again. I've been having trouble for several months now and had hoped that things would heal on their own. Once I had the MRI done though they knew there was too much damage for that. I'm just scared that it's going to be extremely painful. I am such a baby when it comes to pain.

Work is a bit annoying. I have enough sick and vacation time to actually be gone for 6 months fully paid, but they have never bothered to train anyone for my position. Things are a mess. One of the supervisors there actually mentioned that I could just take my computer home and work from there. I told them straight that I will not be doing anything at all for the first week....including ignoring all phone calls from work. The second week I may be willing to answer questions, but I won't do anything more. I'll have to see how I feel after that. I already put in for 2 weeks leave with an option to extend it.

I'm just going to let it go though. If things fall apart at work, that is on them. I've been saying for years that they need to crosstrain someone for my job since I'm crosstrained to do several other people's jobs. I've filled in for multiple people while they've been out, but I'm rarely out for more than a day here and there.

Wow that's a lot. I know how it is to be gone with no one trained to do the work. Also how scary surgery can be. I just had eye surgery a couple weeks ago but it went a lot better than I was expecting. I hope yours goes great and everything works out. Is there anything on Subeta you need?

Thanks. I'm just trying to get everything ready beforehand for the surgery. I seen a reddit post about stuff to get for right after shoulder surgery. I bought the cold therapy machine so that I can basically keep an icepack on my shoulder and let it cycle on and off while I sleep. I also made sure to get easy to fix meals so that my daughter can take care of me easier. She's been extremely helpful for the past few weeks since it's hard to wash my hair and stuff. She's been helping me shower and wash my hair. I've told her to make sure she does keep coming to check on me every few hours the first two days. Although we live in the same house we can actually go days without seeing each other since we both tend to stay in our rooms. I probably won't be on my computer at all for a few days after since I really want to try to stay knocked out for those first few days when the pain will be the worst. I do know I won't be leaving the house for at least 2 weeks since I won't be allowed to drive for at least that long. I go for a checkup after those 2 weeks to see where things go from there.

Thinking of you, let us know how it went once you get done. Your job is taking advantage of you!

Congrats on your pet/potion win!

Yeah, my job has been taking advantage of me for years. I had so many things added to my position over a period of years without me getting any change in compensation other than basic cost of living that everyone else got. I've been working there for 24 years now. I did finally get a very large pay increase almost two years ago. They gave me a 20k per year raise. I'm technically still underpaid, but not as badly as it was. Honestly I'm just holding out until I can retire. I will be able to retire with full benefits including health insurance in July 2029. My job can't legally force me back to work if my doctor doesn't release me. My doctor would probably be willing to write me out for the full six weeks, but I don't see myself wanting to be out for that long. It would be too hard to actually get back into working daily if I was off for so long.

Luckily there are no major Subeta events happening over the next few weeks, so at least I shouldn't miss out on anything here. I know Neugarten will happen at some point, but I have already eaten everything from those shops, so I won't be missing anything unless new things are released.

Yes please! I love Rats. :)

Lots of luck for the surgery and a speedy healing time. We got you covered if you miss anything. :)

Summer has been busier than I thought and this week my kids are at Boy Scout Camp, so it's nice. I don't like the quiet though. On the plus side there is a now neighbor with a 2 year old girl. I asked it they might want our play kitchen and they said yes! It's in really good condition (wooden too!) and I have all the parts and tons of play food for it.

my product idea is simple: a custom maze around my apartment so they stop climbing off the side of my couch and escaping to places theyre not supposed to go ;-;;;; (im worried theyll chew on wires are such rip)

but still! this maze would be made out of a rat safe wood/material, have an acrylic top so you could look in and observe them, and have lil enrichment corners where you can put different textures or treats in!

i have 4 lil troublemakers so its rough to find something to keep them all occupied with but i think if i ever do get around to making this maze, itd keep them safe and occupied during parts of free roam time

I've seen mazes like this around homes for hamsters and also for cats. Be careful of how much plastic you have because rodents chew through plastic. I had to move my hamster to a different cage because she chewed out through the plastic base. Rats are cool. I've had a few. I got a play pen for my hamster to have a play ground with a tunnel, disk, powder bath, etc.

yea, the front of rats teeth are coated with nickle and iron- its how they can chew through concrete! if i do make the maze, id likely have to replace parts periodically lol

ill keep it in mind! my current girls dont rlly chew through plastic (they seem more focused on chewing on the couch and my feet) however i did have a few (now passed) rats that were hyperfocused on chewing through plastic lol

ill yap on more about rats if im not stopped so ill stop here ;v;;;

I've seen people put in tunnel systems for their animals like rats, ferrets, etc. I think it would be a good way to give them some enrichment like that. I've never had any small animals. I've had dogs and cats in the past, but that's it.

i do have several dig boxes for my rattos, so they do get some tunneling in! their inner naked mole rat desires fulfilled often- i do think itd be cool to have like,,,, a somewhat big box that i could fill more readily with dirt and such- the set up ive got right now is kinda hard to replace and clean the dirt ;v;;;

My surgery itself went ok, but the nerve block didn't work too well so I woke up in extreme pain. I also woke up having an asthma attack. I was panicking because I couldn't even get any air in to even tell them I couldn't breathe. The doctor realized it though so it only lasted a minute before they gave me asthma meds. The hospital also gave me extra pain meds before I was sent home so I could be a bit more comfortable on the way home. I'm on multiple pain meds now, but I am still in a lot of pain. When the nurse called this morning to check in on me she says usually day 3 is the worst. I'm dreading that since it's bad enough as is. I have mainly been laying in bed trying not to move too much. At least I can use this time to catch up on audiobooks that I've been wanting to read.
