I get a 404 when trying to do the wiz quests after they reset
I also was not getting reputation from maybel - unsure if this was a bug or just not happening during testing
Looks like I missed out :p
Edit: Did wizard. Increased rewards today (woo!) Gained reputation but my total reputation did not increase. It still shows 5 which was from yesterday. Is this just cache delay or is it not getting added?
aklsdjfalksdjf SLIGHT PANIC ATTACK.
If you did the wizard quests and got a custom wearable, or staff item (!!) they should have been deleted automatically from your inventory. If you moved them somewhere, we have a note -- please just delete them so I don't have to track them down.
The updates I made for Mabel (so that I could break out her items individually) made the Wizard break. I've also added guardrails to the prizes so that can't happen again in the future 😰
💖 ✨ 🤗
More than just the CWs got removed from my inventory- i lost the tokens i earned too :c lol
no worries, you didn’t miss out on anything. :p i didn’t get to keep them! I didn’t think i was going to be able to, which is why i didn’t touch them.
i had a feeling it wasn’t supposed to happen. x) i’m glad that i posted to ask! Hopefully not many went out before you mended the issue. ;-;
I'm sorry 😭 I'm going to reset the quests so you can go for it again -- and the prizes are set up differently now too.
Fortunately not too many went out, enough that I could write that quick script. another benefit of trying to track everything this time around to make sure the rewards are good is that I can easily roll them back 🎉
💖 ✨ 🤗
No worries! shit happens haha c: and thank you!!
Sticker quests are showing and they’re asking for cws
i don't know if this is something that's doable right now, but one of my favorite site features is the wishlist border. it helps when i'm questing because i need several thousand food items, so if i see an item i need while i'm questing i'll just buy another. as far as i could tell, wishlist borders did not appear when i did the quests on kumos
Just wanted to note some things I don't think are working properly; hopefully you're aware of these already:
quests/ they are missing the first letter of each word (-iss-aybel-s-inion-uest and -ticker-esistance)Beyond that, I'm excited about some of the new questing features/proposed ideas and skeptical about others. I'll probably be back to post more general feedback.

I have thousands of quest points. The main reason I still have them instead of spending them immediately is that it takes so long to mass-buy and then read each book to 20 pets. D: I do it occasionally when I have an extra hour to waste. I need the currency (I honestly need thousands more) but it’s really hard to spend it in a reasonable timeframe, so I leave that part for later.
Wizard tokens: I’m saving them for to try to get some of those legendary achievements knocked out, I spend them at the BHH whenever posssible, I spend them on books/wishlist items whenever the TS restocks, sometimes I try (and inevitably fail) to vend the - honestly, the rarity of TS restocks and the 12 hour timers are the limiting factors, here. I want to use my tokens. I don’t have enough opportunities to spend them on the things I want. I’m definitely excited to get more, and to eventually spend them!
I also bank limited currencies like bathhouse points, forum points and crypts points simply because I can’t afford everything I want and having to choose makes that hard for me. :s
Liking the new Mabel quest and the sticker quest! Very cute.
Honestly, I would’ve been happy with the auto-buy feature alone. I love the idea of fewer quests + increased rewards. My wrists appreciate it. Fingers crossed that BQs are next.
I’m against the RNG aspect of which NPC we get. I don’t mind being limited, but I’d like to keep the option to pick my choice from the core quest givers ATM, while having any new NPCs be the random choices.
I’m okay with fewer wiz tokens. I’m sitting on 20k ATM as a just-in-case for really expensive BHH restocks and TS restocks.
Wow! Less than 15% active users touching quests is surprising to me. I was worried about fewer quests = fewer shops being bought from; but if more players do their dailies, then it sounds like it should even out or be better.
TBH I could do away with fragging and recycling lol. Fewer currencies to keep track of and hoard is good with me.
I love the idea of interacting with the various NPCs more. Yes to more dialogue, so we can get a proper idea of who so many of them are! Maybe once you hit a certain rep, you unlock a special story quest with them…?
As an aside, I don’t think discount cards/buffs are applying to the autobuy from main shops.
Also want to agree with other folks who have explained why wizard tokens are exciting to get and why we have giant stashes. I hoard wizard tokens because there are semi-regular reasons why I'd need 5k+: Shattered Rift Blade costs 25k tokens in Blackheart Hollow so I try to never dip below 25k in case I see one. Shinigami costs 5k in BHH, Aemis costs 10-15k (can't remember) in the token shop, etc.

This is me as well. I'm hoarding to buy the expensive things when they pop up in the token shop restocks and Blackheart Hallow. I additionally like the quest shop. I need 60+ of all the books for my battle pets. Even more than sp and items to resell, the need for quest points keeps me questing on a regular basis.
Doing the new quests again. Let me clarify my earlier request. Can you always show the restock price and the last user shops price, even if it's grayed out because they are not currently stocked in shops? Comparing what users are selling for in their shops vs restock shop price is how I low-key restock. I know there are some people that stalk restock in shops and have prices memorized but I think this is an easier way for the rest of us to restock as we quest.
Esp. quest shop - this has been going on for a couple of years and I still haven't managed to get all the seasonal books, esp., since each year I need to stock up the same amount of the 2 new books - maybe I will be able to at least fill up one season this year.
For Blue Building I do indeed hoard my points (for the most part) but if I spent them all, I'd still not have everything I need (looking at a 5k book). So this is not simple hoarding, it's just, items are there, I don't need to spend time, I don't have, in order to buy stuff and put it in my vault, until a pet has earned the right to read the next book. (everything very much applicable for EVERY currency and holiday shop just as Skolletta wrote and I VERY MUCH hope, we get amply time of warning, before you close down these shops, so we have the opportunity to buy everything we have on our "somewhen" lists!!!)
On the other hand the unpredictability and surprises are, of course, what makes the game exciting, otherwise it would be boring.
I have a tight grasp on myself, not allowing to spend whatever currency, before having gotten the important items on my list. But as soon as I come somehow close (providing those items even exist any longer), the game takes a twist and there is another deep hole to fill, when a ton of other are still open. My hoarding is fully intentional with a plan, unfortunately a long time goal, which certain twists of the game tend to shatter a bit inbetween times...
I just did 1 of Miss Maybel’s quests (Other than that the site is still completely broken for me layout wise huge arrows on a ton of white with long black parts inbetween the written parts etc. ): Clicking on an item indeed takes me to that terrible limited shop search, which does not show the main shop, in spite of the fact, that the item is stocked there and no way to account search, to see, how many I own. Please revert shop search to its current legacy style! You want to speed up questing and all? This makes it all more tedious, endless searching and wondering on the shop search page (and it's not a wearable item page, which would be littered with avatars, which are of no interest, when questing and should therefore be located on a (linked) other page. Pretty please!
And reiterating everything ColdDragon wrote (about restocking and buying up cheap stuff, as we quest, et all)!
I'm still not sure how the seasonal Quest Shop would work since it isn't tied to an NPC. Also, would feel kinda weird to put things that are only available during a specific season behind a reputation wall. Basically telling people (especially ones without GAs) that they probably won't be able to get that new seasonal item for maybe another year if they don't do all of their quests daily. I'm sure that there are users that only do quests on certain days of the week (like weekends). And they might struggle to get to the top tier of a reputation pyramid in that case. But hey, maybe that's just me being concerned about that?
I guess that I, somewhat, go into the category of users that "bank" QPs, but that's because, like I mentioned in a previous post, I wait until the end of a season and buy some of the new stuff so that I can sell them to make some extra sP. I always buy any new items that I want right away when they are released (be it for collections, the wardrobe, TCs or just because I like the look of it). And I like that because then I don't have to keep thinking "Have I bought everything I needed yet?" and it saves me having to check my wl every so often to check to make sure that I didn't forget to buy something.
I don't know. Makes me wonder if you're gonna do the same with the MC? Gonna put that behind a Saggi reputation wall as well eventually? The whole reputation thing makes me feel like you're trying to make Subeta into a game, more so than a virtual pet-based community site. As if I, personally, don't get enough of reputation grinding when I play WoW...
Keith, love that you're working on tweaking Subeta - I feel like Subeta changing keeps it interesting. I've been here since the beginning. I've seen change. It normally works out. Change is hard but the version of Subeta we're playing now is not the version we started out with.
I seem to be in the minority based on the posts (I've read every one up until my post). I'd consider myself a casual but dedicated player. My amount of time on the site has varied over the years but I can reliably be here for quests and RSing.
My thoughts so far:
Sure, love that we can quest from the same page. The option to use an item from your vault is interesting. I do actually enjoy going to the User Shops page though, as it lets me see whether the cheapest item is actually undercut from the rest.
The reputation system seems interesting. Sure why not have it unlock different levels of access to a quest shop. But I'd like to keep Quest Points if we can!!! I like the idea of having good rep with NPCs giving you bonuses/access in other parts of the game. The Blake crypts one is a good example.
I agree with people who like having a "boring" task to do on Subeta.. maybe there can be some kind of alternative that isn't questing - let's have something else that's also kinda like chipping away at something quietly and gradually.
A random pool of quest givers: I like this idea. But maybe keep quests like the Wizard, BB, Shinwa etc as permanent quest option and you cycle through some others? Like the quests which give out specific items specific to the quest (e.g. Wiz) are permanent and others are in the random pool (e.g. Pete, Mabel)
I agree about random junk items - there's too many. I do think that features like the Recycle Beast and Fragmentizer were introduced to try fix this but there's still piles of untouched items.
I like Shinwa as she is... she makes you do random quests! I think whatever her new mechanic is - her current one is unique enough. Maybe if there's a purpose to who and why we're visiting sure - but I think it's not a necessary change.
As for hoarding currencies - unfortunately Subeta is where I live out my hoarding dreams. Why do I have millions of sP I never spend? Why do I have thousands of CSC? No idea. But I enjoy seeing the numbers go up.
And I cannot rightclick to open the quest in a new window/tab?!
Looking at the "quick quest page" for Wizard and the Spells Galore items, which I'm quite firm on - it's VERY time consuming to check and weigh the options...
Edit for the Spells Galore shop - off topic, I know, sorry: Together with Secluded Shrine it has sort of almost completely lost its original purpose of scroll creating (look at prices for the "hard to get hold of" stuff). People mostly use the challenger loot scrolls, the self made ones have become more or less obsolete :-( I had a list of what it cost to build the "big/good" ones, but that document is most likely on my old computer (transferring everything is still on one of my real life to do lists)
Re: less quests: Ok, so you'll still have all questgivers to chose from - that wasn't clear to me after your first post. It sounded like questgivers would rotate. So thank you for clarifying that. I'd definitely hate if I couldn't chose which quests to do.
Today's testing:
can the cancel and complete buttons please swap their places? The complete quest one should be below the active elements.
also the info (time left and daily limit) - maybe they can go below the buttons, or in between them.
buying like this doesn't show a main shop discount due to buff or card. Maybe that could be added again? I'm sure it's taken into account when calculating the final price.
button "Do another quest" could be called "back to quests". Because it also dispalys after you did your last possible one, so that's a bit misleading
about the "manual" option: it would be great if it could be clicked directly on the questing site and take you to a new tab. Without you having to open that tab and account search yourself. I like how it is in current quests - that's just one click (for either shop search or account search via item hover) which is very convenient and should be kept in the new system.
sP are still taken from my account when "purchasing" items from the quest shop without the item being given ;-)
while testing Rumi I got a message in the status bar above the QG box: "Error buying item: No query results for model [AppModelsStockedItem]." Not sure what that means? That the item was gone from the shop by the time I clicked complete? That will probably turn into some meaningful message at some point.
the quest giver page could show if you have finished your daily quests for a particular QG already, not just the total
I definitely would be sad about not getting tokens! That's one of the most useful currency on site and also the one most "served", being required for several games and the Token Shop. Also a good gift or trade option.
Re: reputation system. I needed a bit of time to think about that. It does sound like fun and the idea to have it add to a more immersive experience is something to look forward to! All of your examples for that sounded fine as they made some activities easier for more active users but not impossible for less active users. That's always the issue I see, making sure it's not excluding users from being able to achieve something.
Re: having all QG available or a choice: maybe that's for the user to decide? Maybe they can opt in to random choice or opt in to see all? Or maybe they can pick their favourite QG to be displayed and not be bothered by the others?
Idea area:
I would love to see a "stick sticker to your album" reward from quests. Like, a dialogue showing the stickers you have in your inventory and you can chose one that's then added to your sticker album.
it generally irks me that while quest givers ask for items from their respective fields they give out items that feel... random. Why does Rumi hand out plushies? Why is Alexander giving out stickers or sweets? He'd throw you out of his library if you brought in an ice cream sundae! I understand it's impossible for each QG to have their unique item set (especially given the limited resources. They would get old quickly). But maybe it could make a little more sense?
Re: Shinwa: I agree, it could be more related to her relation with Maleria. But she is more than that.
Some quests could be over a longer period, like having your pet earn an attribute point including intelligence ( preparing for a potential battle or having diplomats to find a peaceful solution).
Or maybe she could reward your pet with an attribute point after you achieved X (not a daily achievement) for her? Or for handing in X amount of the stuff she gives out (or another QG)
also those Alchemy, baking and scroll features could be included better. Bring her a certain scroll. Might also be too hard as those systems feel rather imbalanced to me, but who knows
giving out buffs as reward that make other things easier for a limited time
I don't know, this is very wild, but I think it would be fun if there was a reward of wearing a (rarely used) item for 24 hours. Now, you can always hide it behind a background in nowadays wardrobe which would be sad. But I think that's a real challenge if you take it seriously. But maybe that's more for user run contests.
Well, that turned out longer than I thought it would.
I still want to add a thank you for this thread, it does feel like someone is listening and honestly asking for feedback.
...all in all I wouldn't mind, if all the currencies were abolished and fairly converted, with the shop items in question becoming available in other permanent ways, just don't add yet another currency that we have to accumulate - right now "reputation". it's very tiring.
And don't force us to play games! Unless you offer an alternative how to get the rewards.
Let's get back more to this being a PET site.

Alert, alert!
Spells Galore items have vanished from my vault!!! And others from Maybel's quests as well! Twiflight, Wowl, Caffeinated Wabbit, IgnorANT are ones, that I bought in addition and only have 1 uncategorized in my vault now after quickstocking from my inventory. Can't check, which were the others that she asked for and if those are still in my vault (which I doubt). If more Spells Galore items are missing, I'll notice that by and by, because, as mentioned before, I should have very many of each of those in my vault. I did 1 Wiz Quest on Kumos. And all of Maybels. I tried the "buy from main shop" option for the Wizard.
Searching For: Crypt Dust 2 item(s) found in total! 1 found in your Inventory 1 found in your Vault
Searching For: Fly Wings 31 item(s) found in total! 1 found in your Inventory 1 found in your Vault | (Remove One) 29 found in your shop The New Shop of Boa
I noticed, because I wanted to categorize a new Subi item in my vault and there were several uncategorized, which I definitely had had masses of before.
The ones in my invy are there, because I was shocked and quickly went to buy from main shop, until I realized, these were items I actually should have tons of.
The edit function all of a sudden does not acknowledge the return button for new paragraph... this is why I used the red fonts instead, to make it stick out.
i do wish everyone would be more optimistic about everything instead of digging their heels in about how any change is bad... i had this exact same situation happen with another platform i loved (vent app iykyk) - the app didn't make profit so the staff were keeping it alive for the userbase, but the users were constantly angry at the admin and staff and resisted every attempt at change.... so recently they shut down the app because they decided they'd never be able to make the users happy. :,) i don't think it's useful to be so negative and resistant to change when it could bring more life to the site, and Keith has shown how much he really does care for the userbase and our input.
as another one of the 2% that does all my quests (and someone who's been here 8 years) , i would love to see the system changed. i've tried to get friends into subeta and they don't want to play because wasting a few hours every day doing quests puts them off the idea, and it's pretty much the only way for a new player to get sp. i love the idea of items being reputation-locked, it's way more interesting than the current system, especially if you get other bonuses around the site! i feel like we'll have advertising threads like "i have access to pete and quentin lvl5 items, looking for carl and duality lvl5 item to trade"... so it'll be a lot more engaging to the economy than the current system of "stock up hundreds of QPs until next restock and buy everything and never look at the shop until next restock"
for shinwa - i think it would be cute if the quests she sends you on are people who've asked for her help today, and she sent you to do her bidding and assist them. and maybe every quest giver has unique flavour text for when you're on a shinwa quest for them! like they explain what they wanted shinwa's help with
the "back" button on the wizard's page leads to a 404, the other ones work correctly though [:
