Glad to see this was resolved so quickly because I'm enjoying participating in MM- which I've never really done before on Subeta. There's always going to be hiccups with things like this and it's important to learn from mistakes- gotta embrace a growth mindset rather than a fixed one!! I gotta add one more thing..
People continuing to insist that new features remain on the current site instead of being implemented on the new version isn't helpful. Look I'm afraid of change as much as the next squishy human, but the new site is going to be a reality in the future so get used to it!
thanks for the feedback! i totally understand how it might feel that way, but unfortunately, thatβs not how things work behind the scenes. i wish we could just keep building on the existing site, but the old foundation makes that pretty impractical.
for example, the legacy site runs on an older version of php thatβs no longer supported. without a major rewrite (which is happening on kumos.subeta.net π), we miss out on important security and speed upgrades. a lot of the underlying systemsβlike how we handle databases and cachingβare too outdated to upgrade incrementally. rewriting those parts on the old site would essentially mean rebuilding everything, which isnβt feasible for a small team like ours (right now itβs just me programming!).
on the bright side, the work weβre doing on the new site allows us to implement features that werenβt possible on the legacy platform. a recent example: the new system can automate things like user shop purchases and handle nightly distributions efficiently. hereβs a stripped-down example of how it processed a pool last night:
β’ 5 users contributed 20 items
β’ distribution: contributors received items proportional to their contributions; non-contributors received one item each
β’ final allocations:
β’ contributor A: 6 items
β’ contributor B: 6 items
β’ contributor C: 6 items
β’ non-contributor D: 1 item
β’ melody (remaining items): 2 items
β’ scores and events calculated and sent for all users involved.
this is exactly the kind of functionality we couldnβt have achieved on the legacy platform without a complete overhaul. i get that transitions can be rough, but this work is setting us up for a more sustainable and feature-rich future. thanks for your patience and support as we get there! β€οΈ

I am actually a little glad you moved Melody to the new site. Over all I haven't been looking forward to the move at all but having events like Melody and the Composting on the new site give me a chance to get used to it before the big move whenever that happens. Moving over gradually is making this feel less like loosing an old friend and more like the old friend is just changing and probably for the better. As for Sqls and errors I will miss them if they are evicted entirely from the system. It almost doesn't feel like a holiday around here without them but I know many of us will welcome a reprieve from their antics.

Can we please get an updated link to MM from Melody's cottage? The link there still redirects to it being closed from last year. That or a side link on the news page for it
I don't like the new site but will give MM a try if I can find it since the link with melody's cottage goes to the old broken MM. I found it. They really need to put the link on the news page if they want people to use it.

It's reset now, but the results page aren't showing the blue stars indicating which gifts the user received. I did receive some gifts, though - thank you, Melody!
ETA: Got an event this time! Whew!
I haven't tried to join MM again, but I joined the first night. It just said I was waiting to join a group, and I ended up navigating away from the page. I forgot I had joined and ended up contributing nothing. (Sorry group!) :( Can we please get an event about our group being formed or something if that hasn't been implemented already?

What this person say over here, It seems logical and, even if the code is old in legacy subeta is just switching and url (I am right about this?) And also in the news page, where, every event part has an itemlinking to it, let's link the new Mistery Melody in there with a cute Melody plush or something :3
edit Ohhh I see stuff moving around in the misterious melody page Previously I peek a ranting sistem for the groups you have been into (that went gone after a while) And now I peeking a glance at the wishlist of the other group members, I'm going to use it a bit and hope that the person with the item on the WL will be the one that gets it xp
