Ah! I saw gout but immediately thought it could only be on feet. That does not sound fun at all!!😓

- That's what I thought too but my GP disabused me of that notion quickly. She told me that you can get gout in the knuckles of your hands and that my hand looked like a classic case. She then referred me to a specialist for medicine. I can't get in to see the specialist, though, as they're the only one in town that takes insurance and is inundated with patients. So, no appointments were available. I did figure out on my own that a cold compress works to take the inflamation down quickly, though. :D

I like historical sometimes, when I like the author. This one's very historical but it's also fantasy, there's wizards and vampires (if a little less magique than usual, they are also not entirely mundane either).

wow very nice compliment! A very mix of things, this dress is one of my first CWs I ever got (gift from who invited me to subeta, if I'm remembering right) and the wings are a new Melody item and the frame thing is from the CW Pawn just yesterday. So a lot of old + new (and of course blue, but - nothing borrowed lol it's all mine)

At least you figured out icing your hand helps. Maybe cutting out certain foods would help too. With my arthritis cutting out white flour, cheese and soy helps a ton. Although, gout is probably totally different.

John M Ford was a writer who had a lot of original/unusual ideas, for sure. I'm very much enjoying it, there is some royal shenanigans now between brother dukes Richard, Edward, and George, trading off who's King, and King Henry has already died but his widow Margaret is in the mix, too... the wizard and the vampire and the doctor and this soldier guy whose father was a Roman Empire governor are all doing shady stuff together. It's mysterious and cool!

I think the main difference from real history, not counting the wizards and vampires, is that there's no Christianity - possibly no Judaism or Islam either; Mithras as well as various Greek & Roman deities are both still worshiped, and maybe there's some druidic religion too, not sure yet...

I'm glad you found a must-have CW there! I got five total so far... that might be all I get, I'm trying to hold off from more purchases/spending more moneys :D

- Well, we put our tree up last night. It's Halloween themed again. Hubby and son are having an ornament war. My hubby moves one ornament out of place and son moves it back when he notices (which is pretty quick these days.) I don't know what I'll do with those two! 😂 I hope your holidays are going as well as mine. :D

- Well, hubby turned it up a notch last night. After our son went to bed my hubby took all the ornaments off the tree and put them all back in the wrong spot. You should have heard my son this morning. 😂 😂 😂 I was laughing so hard I was crying. Needless tosay, all the ornaments are back where they started. I have no idea how my son remembered where each ornament started but, according to my hubby, he put them all back correctly. I asked him how he knew and he said he took pics of the tree before he removed the ornaments. I have a feeling this is just going to escalate. 😂
