It is 100% pulling from private Wishlists. You can see my above post. I have a private WL to track my unowned Lifelike dolls. Items I will buy eventually, but not now. In today's MM, I received 6(!!) lifelike dolls. They are on my WL technically, but felt like a bummer.

Is there any way to exclude private WLs from the peek? I am waiting to join a pool today because I don't really want those private pools considered.

@ Chocolate Oh dang yeah I was also curious about people possibly getting duplicates from the WL items. I do think it may be a little different today because the WL peek has now been rotating every so often. So what are the odds that everyone gets you the same gifts at the same time while the WL is rotating items - probably slim.

I do like the WL peek and I think even if it did pull from your private items even if it rotated more often you would probably be more satisfied with the outcome regardless. I think the shock of just getting all those at once was likely bothersome.

I have private WL and even if I did get a couple gifts off them I wouldn't care all that much personally. I do agree though that if it's able to sort through your public WL instead then that would be ideal though.

Yeah, I wouldn't have minded as much, except it was two lifelike dolls, 3 times each. They must have been on the first page of WL peak when people got in yesterday, because there were a total of 4 of each doll. So all 3 partners AND melody bought me the same doll.

Rotation for the pools is good. If it detected purchased items and removed, that'd be good.

If it didn't include those items at all, that'd be better.

Whew i definitely got 7 items (kind of) i got the same item 3 times, another item 2 times, and then two other items. Nice. i mean i'm not complaining, the first two items were on my WL, and the other two items i could use, but this was definitely a change from the first chunk of MM. The new message system thing is cute, i like it. i dislike that it actively pings me, that's a bit annoying but i'm glad that you can't spam it and that there's only three other people so i'm not going to be getting a barrage of pings at least. But it's a cute little thing.

ended up with 2 copies of the same item that was not on my WL - definitely needs some tweaking on the back end (i assume 2 people/npc bought those for the same person). this is fun though!

Yes. I have checked it atleast 4-5 times since I joined last night and each time the items are somewhat different. I have no idea how often it rotates. Maybe every hour, maybe every 4 hours. No idea on the stats. If you look at it, then immediately refresh it will stay the same. I do not know the frequency of it changing.

It’s not removing purchased items because I will occasionally see an item that I have already bought for the pool on there. The other two people are rotating stock better. My guess is the person that’s not rotating as well has a smaller WL.

When I joined last night only two people had contributed to the pool and it was not showing me the third WL which is likely the person that’s didn’t contribute anything yet. Once they contribute during the day, their WL became viewable for me. I do think some people might not have much if anything on their WL as well. I know a new player who joined that has absolutely nothing on their WL and that could affect you seeing those people’s WL as well.

Glad hat we're able to see what items we received ahead of time again! I really missed this feature yesterday I had to go to my inventory and cross-compare what items I received.

Thanks to the wish list peek, I ended up with 4 WL items out of the 7 total I received.

However as others have mentioned there were 5 duplicate items from my wish list in the other pool items that must have gotten divided amongst the other people, presumably from different people buying my WL items for me. I did see that another user's WL item ended up in the same pool so I can only hope that it ended up going to that person. I do feel slightly sorry for anyone who may have gotten stuck with my WL items and didn't want them, but overall I think this is a verygood edition.

I feel like it would probably be best to just keep wishlist peaks separate for each user, if possible. Or perhaps, don't show them at the same time to the same folks. If something was displayed to another user, and they don't contribute it, then its safe to share it with someone else as a hint.

I know Keith said there's a lot of user overlap, so maybe that would be okay, but overlaps seem like an unfortunate issue of showing gift ideas at the same time.

And honestly, this whole thing may be easiest if there was a designated Lumineve List for purposes of MM. And maybe holiday stuff down the line too, idk. Folks have just used wishlists for so many purposes for so long, that its difficult to expect them to be curated for the new MM. But I don't want to give up on the Wishlist Peeks!

Give it a year of folks knowing that Lumineve Lists are a thing, and it would go much more smoothly next year.

Melody gave zero items to my group today and I got one of my own items back. 😂

my pool is so weird for yesterday... one person didn't participate, so:

• i got 7 unique items (one wl)
• i gave 5 unique items
• the rest of the pool includes 5x of one item, 3x of another item, so there are only 3 other unique items i didn't give, to spread between the other two players??

if it was just 5 of one item i'd assume someone dumped the same item, but since it's 5x and 3x (and melody gives 8 items) maybe it's melody doing something weird?

Is this working as intended??

I'm kinda disappointed in Melody today. I gave 5 items, and even purchased things off of people's wishlists, but only received 4 items back. :(

There's the issue I thought would happen with wishlist peek, especially because...

Gentleman Pirate is 13k, Reborn Endeavor is 5k. Even with the 3877 beanbag, the total of the gifts received is LESS than the cheapest item I put in (and I didn't exactly put in super expensive items this round either, all under 1mil). There were also three of another item, so I can only imagine one person ended up with all three.

I know the value is part of the risk, but it also feels heavily unbalanced to have six items but only three unique, and all being so drastically lower value than everything else in the pool despite giving more higher value items myself. It definitely doesn't feel to be working 'as intended'.

ETA: Reading back a bit as well. If the wishlists are in fact rotating, I wish it was more often (maybe on a refresh?) because otherwise there's no point in me doing all my items at the very start of the pool (but I have to do them at the start of the pool otherwise I'll forget and I don't have access to my computer for the 12ish hours (at least) prior to rollover).

I got 2 wishlist items and a wizard token, which is quite nice. Something does seem off, since I bought someone a wishlist item from the sneak peek, and I received it back myself. I thought you weren't supposed to get back any items you put in yourself? It wasn't a double either.

ALL of the items I received today were items from a private wishlist category, which kind of sucks. I'd much rather have the random stuff than multiple of three low-cost items I explicitly don't even want.

Was loving MM, but since the wishlist peek feature, I think I’ll give it a miss.

Received 7 items, out of those, 3 duplicates of an item worth 4700sP, 2 duplicates of sub-100k, and the other two sub 50k. These were all wishlist items and it’s clear they were shown to the other participants in the peek..

I liked the spontaneity of MM before WL peek. I always associated WL giving with the trees, and MM a chance to get new items you might not have known about or even knew you wanted.

I think the idea that WL peek rotates is a bit null and void. I get the notification, contribute my items, and forget about it for the day. It appears that the users I was in a group with did the same. This currently isn’t a feature I would keep checking back for throughout the day, so the only WL items I’d see are those shown at the very start.

TL;DR can we get rid of WL peek and leave WL buying for our trees please?

Loving the layout for splitting up items into different categories on the items received page! I've been really enjoying MM this year and it's been fun to see how it changes and gets better. Glad to see I'm not the only one who received duplicates. I got 3 of the same WL sticker today worth 35k so I'm kind of feeling like the WL feature could use some improvement. Didn't realize WL items were rotating until reading this thread. I've been filling with items within a few minutes of getting into a group so hadn't noticed that.

The day before yesterday I received an item that I donated, which I figured was because someone else also donated the item (there were 2 copies in the pool, I received 1). I added the item to the pool because it was someone else's WL item.

Is everyone getting shown the same WL items and then it rotates to a new set it shows everyone in the MM group? Or does everyone in the group see a different set of WL items and when it rotates everyone is still seeing different from each other?

(edit to add: I don't care about the cost of the WL items I received. I care that i got duplicates and an item I donated,)
