and my person who was hospitalized kept saying they were “fine” until that day. When I spiraled I did not tell anyone I was fine I did the opposite, but that’s me. We are all different. Winter is tough, though.

the time void between Christmas and new years is so weird. It is dark constantly and is time even real anymore? I am putting the decorations away tomorrow or the next day. Pre-January.

I know as I have gotten further in my "journey" and spoken with more individuals who have been on theirs, my understanding of my own needs has changed. While my current medications have helped a great deal over the years, I don't feel like they are the best option for me. I feel I've reached a point where the two primary meds are almost competing, like they're impacting one another's benefit. Yet I can't do away with either. My one friend shared insights into their experience and I am curious about a mood stabilizer vs an SSRI. I think it may be a better fit, and mood stabilizers are preferred for pregnancy / nursing which I hope to do in the coming year(s). We'll see what my new team says but I hope we can find an improved solution!

I spent years and years asking for help less and less the worse I felt. I would absolutely put on the brave face and fall apart in private. Now, thanks to therapy and progress in healing, I can and do ask for help as needed more often than not. But when certain things get "triggered" at the same time or when things are hitting their lowest I seem to lose the ability to do so. Though I don't "hide" anything as much, more just withdraw or shut down. You're right, we are all very different and the complex layering of our own experiences drives our behaviors.

Hahaha time has barely been real in my mind since like 2021 and this weird almost liminal period of the year makes that way worse lol. Yesterday I literally had no clue what day it was.

Hi guys! and I were just discussing how clichés are clichés because they are true and widely used. Here are some - maybe in different words. These are things I believe though sometimes I struggle to remember them. They are on different subjects, and if one rings for you then I achieved my purpose in saying them. :) They are not meant to offend or belittle anyone's inner demons. They are meant to remind and encourage and say I love you all. <3 I Believe.

My hand is slowly getting better but it's still going to be a few days before I'll be able to type completely on my own. I want to wish you all a very happy New Year and hope that only the best is instore for you in the coming year.

This Lumi has been difficult because I got hit with a double whammy of gout, one right after the other. I'm very lucky that I had enough time to get out as many gifts as I did. I still have some to send out and will get to those as my hand allows. I want to thank you all for all your support and encouragement in this trying time.

TY for sharing that link. I often find that (with both cliches and non-cliches) the same words can impact someone dramatically differently in different seasons of life. What is at one time just a random phrase can, at another time, be the mantra that you clasp.

It's been cloudy here, but not quite dark or gloomy. We did have some rain yesterday, it felt like it had been a while since a good rain so I was glad to see it. It may rain again today I think, the wind is picking up.

I came home around 11:30pm after a nice shift at work and one of my Syrian neighbors came to my door with 2 plates of snack! So sweet and when the fireworks started they invited me into there home for drinks. I stayed a bit but was so tired i went home but thanksed them.

I have another shift in 2 hours, still in my pj's as i don't know what to wear... lol And the weather outside is horrible.. Storm, rain.. ugh..

I'm so glad you had a nice shift and that was so sweet of your neighbors! Poor kitties. Mine thankfully don't seem bothered, and all the dogs get medication to help them relax and settle. Otherwise two of them would be barking at every boom, one would be pacing and shaking, and one would be licking a puddle into the couch. I was most worried about the little wolf-dog I'm fostering but with her own meds and some extra noise layering stuff she did really well!

& all of the wonderful I saw a video this morning reminding us that traditionally, the new year was celebrated in Spring and it was (I did not fact check, to be fair) Caesar who changed it to winter (along with making other changes to the calendar). The person in the video had a great point in saying that if we don't have "plans", or a ton of motivation, etc it's normal because we're in the middle of winter! That's how nature works after all. She recommended we give ourselves some grace with goals through Spring. This struck with me because we so often set ourselves up to fail because we try to base goals on external pressures, many of which aren't actually made with our good in mind. A nice thought to begin the year with, free ourselves from the external pressures that don't care about us and cause us harm, have grace for ourselves and others, try to listen to our own needs and internal rhythm and honor it. <3

I only got 23 days of 25 for Melody so I missed that beautiful headshot design. I also missed gifting everyone that I planned on gifting so I gotta get back on that too.

When I heard it I was like "this makes SO much sense for me" so I'm glad to start the year with the mindset it gave me!

It is, there's so much conversation sometimes haha. Which is awesome but sometimes I do have to go back and read like 3 pages to catch up haha. I was just wondering if I'm annoying people when I do a general ping xD I hope not! I try to reserve it for something that I specifically want to share with everyone.

I just realized it was 20 and 25 days for achievements this year, I swear it was 25 and 31 in the past! It's nice that they lowered it.

Me too, I've been "hemming and hawing" about when to start what and how to get myself motivated etc. This makes it balance out better for me. Spring is when we start planning for our garden and starts and other outside projects, it makes it more motivational for me to do that stuff then. Maybe I can actually take on more then I think if I'm breaking it down sort of into "two" and start on the "easier" things now while things are still slow and quiet.

Oh I don't know and I wasn't directing that to you just a general thing. I am trying to decide what to start working on here too cause I have more freedom, but alas I'm not sure as I'm still learning how to use a laptop TBH.

Thank you for such beautiful wishes! The video / concept felt so "right" as soon as I heard it. I am so glad to have "stumbled upon it" (sometimes things are too serendipitous to feel like they were actually chance and not God delivering something I needed). I ended up having a really good "start" to the year and it was probably because I was focused on the "right" things not trying to fit myself (a square peg) into arbitrary "customs" (round hole).

I didn't feel targeted! I was just "sharing" lol. My brain hears people share thoughts / experiences / feelings and says "we relate by sharing our own thought / experience / feeling that is on topic" haha. I feel like starting your "new year" in Spring means having so many parallels between your own growth and your garden! I know I find so much sense when I look at how I parallel the plants and animals and seasons. That's also a good idea - starting a slow "thaw" from Winter with easier goals!
