I second ’s post. I need the preselect toggle button for testing things, but it should definitely be set to ON as the default.
I've just stumbled over this thread, so I'm late to the game... Only read OP.
Training pets - I adopted an untrained pet 1,5 years ago. Giving all my love to her (well, almost) the other day I was shocked to notice she is mid T12 already! (plus the other "little & extra" ones all T12 by now, too) Egging, training, battling, BQs and regular toming to boost int from day 1 on. No great deal, not time consuming, not expensive, not mega slow like it used to be with my first pets in the old times, with hardly any challengers and thus no XP, when we i.e. had to be GA to get extra BQs... So easy peasy to get a worthwhile battle pet these days! And I DID find it entertaining to battle with the small pets - only annoying thing was having to clutter my armory with the low tier weapons plus modding them etc.
Weapons is another point. First, sorry, ages old repetitive -One of my - lets just name it that - Godlies was "reduced to dust" because put into a Fanciful Box. How ist it less worthy to keep its 20 piece on whole site status than the "real" Godlies? Why were plot weapons that all averaged 750 m (and comparable Mill. C. weapons are still up there) reduced to 125 m fixed price? Why were 2 new weapons introduced in a Godly Fancyful Box? (Esp. those Boxes are a ripoff, I think - gambling at such a price?!? But there's none available anymore, anyway...)
Even worse, why did the Fancyful Box now return as an achievement prize, when many of us had counted on earning more of them this year as opposed to last year, when nobody expected those to be part of the prizepool. No boss battle but thus this year also no incentive to try hard with more pets because no reward anyway... I'm super hesitant and fearful to open this my only and forever last box, I might end up with another use- and worthless item :-( And we no longer get the other war prizes, either. There should have been a different option for (lower tier) pets to earn upper and multiple prizes like before against Hydragellos - defeat hundreds of the small challengers or the like, for example (which many did anyway).
Actually it's harder for the long time battlers now, because we can no longer profit a little from our decade long investments and still have no chance of achieving stuff we're craving for, missed out winning before (reason: too little time and/or juuust not strong enough pets)
We worked our butts (and wallets) off to buy Mill Ctr. weapons, earn Malice from reading drive, Trident from the CashShop, Malerias Cursed Arm Bangle (now worth less than a 10th of its original price) etc, etc. Promises about Malice and Legendaries evolving into something super amazing, which never happened. Quite honestly, with the multitude of (good) weapons (look at current shop prices of formerly expensive stuff) doors are wide open for new battlers, I believe.
There are amazing user made guides for everything battling now plus Subetalodge for quick reference on every battle item. A very active helpful community on the boards. Why do new users complain, that it's hard to get into battling? Just because there are older players here, who are ahead of them? There always were "idols" around here, owning an impressive, all killing pet, showing you, what can be achieved with endurance and devotion...
