Well dang, that's a smart way to do it! I JUST did my first ever matching job to character and I actually love the idea since I don't do anything with jobs really anyway so I think I may poke around and see what other jobs match some of my pets.

I stopped reading to anyone a while back but that's how I had chosen my book pet too, Kamots was my first pet and so I just started reading to him lol.

In the past there were questions about "homes" that we could build / decorate / see our pets in. If I recall they didn't want to go that direction and make the site too much like Neo, but I'd like to revisit the idea one day. For me, subeta pets have two different "existences" (that kinda overlap?) - the characters I create who may or may not actually have any attachment to the world of Subeta and my pets here in the world of Subeta. I love that this site is slow and comfortable, that there's so much to do but it's also about creating your own little world and happy place. I think being able to create a "home" and see little icons of our pets in there would be a nice addition both as something else to do creatively and as a way to make Subeta personal and see ourselves more in the world. That would be a BIG project so not something I'd even bring up atm in a "real" way though.

On that vein, it would be cool to add some plot lines into battles maybe? Like storylines you play through. I guess the same could be done in multiple ways - different small plot lines to explore in the world of subeta as a whole that are built into the experience of the site. I love big plots that involve the community, maybe there are also ways to bring our pets more into the action in these and in the normal holidays / events.

Smaller things but as mentioned, I'd love a "collect all" for jobs (even if it's a GA perk) and I'd love a "headshots" page where we could manage all our pet headshots in one go vs going to each pet through the pets page individually.

If Subeta never changed, I'd still love it. But I hope it does have the opportunity to grow in the future and thrive more! It's the best site IMO.

What changes would you recommend as improvements to the current "additional activities"? (Ex: We'd love a "collect all wages" button for jobs).

+1 to collect income for all pets. Because 119 is a looot of buttons to click. :D

I know this has been suggested before but I'd love it if toys were more of a collection, like foods and books. It would make playing with pets have a purpose outside of Major Quests.

Are there other things you wish you could do with your pets or things you'd like to see in the future?

I've been wishing for a long time that we had a Spotlight Gallery. It could feature the winner of the day at the top and all the pets that won Spotlight on that day below. Since a pet can only win once, it would be a nice reminder like "oh yeah, I achieved that". Plus, it would be nice for newer players, to give them ideas for what goes into a Spotlight winner. (Maybe it could be a new "exhibit" in the Delphi Art Museum?)

Hahaha the only plus is probably that having to open so many individual pages during floating item events gets us more items if they're based on page views not a timer but I would still prefer the swap for sure!

Oh that would be fun, like once they were played with the item would show up in their "toybox"?

Wrt collecting earnings from multiple pets at once... If you use Google Chrome, the other day I discovered that there's a Chrome add-on that lets you open up all the URLs in a list at once. It's called 'Open Multiple URLs' lol. I can confirm that it was able to open up 126 tabs without breaking.

The idea of a gourmand-esque thing for toys played with is really cute. I feel like it would actually get people to play with their pets since there's not a ton of point to it right now lol.

got me to make a new island on Animal Crossing New Horizons so I... have not doing much on Subeta lately, lol. But I did get my new pet slot the other day for my Subeta anniversary! :3

Ugh I'm sorry I'm so far behind. I haven't been on Subeta much this past week, so here's week 8's answers for now. I'll do week 9 later when I get a chance.

When it comes to fullness and happiness, do you worry about that or not pay much attention? I hate to admit it, but I don't pay attention. I give all my pets minions (or will, when I find the right one!), so they stay happy. But I don't bother with feeding them.

Do you participate in training and battling? If so, what do you enjoy about it? I used to, with

Tak; he's Tier 11. But when I went on hiatus a couple years ago, I sold his weapons, and now I can't be bothered to get back into it. It's stress I don't need, lol.

Do you have designated pets for things like gourmand and reading books to? Is it based on if that fits their character, for achievements, or something else? Tak gets all the food and books. He was my first pet, so I started out giving him everything and just kept going. Also he needed the books to boost his intel for battling. It doesn't have anything to do with his character, but it's satisfying to see his book and food count grow. And it's just easier to have one pet be both reader and gourmand.

What am I missing? Are there other things you do on the site with your pets? They all have jobs that fit with their characters, or as close as I can get to a job that suits the character.

And I don't have any suggestions for additional activities. I sorta like collecting everyone's wages separately; it's satisfying!

It's kinda cool how many of us still have our first pets! Seems like if the reading / feeding isn't tied to battle we're picking our first pets lol. I like the job to the character idea, maybe I'll look more into that! A few folks have said they do that too!

Unfortunately, I can't be much help when it comes to pet art. I've always loved the original Subeta art so I never got into ordering customs. (My art looks like bad cartoon scribbles, LOL) I hope you can find someone whose style you love. :)

Possible theme ideas

Pet jobs could be fun. I remember someone mentioned theming jobs around their pets' characters (I do that too!) so maybe a question about if pet jobs are themed, who's at the top tier and who's still "climbing the ladder", pet jobs we don't have that everybody would like to see added.

Maybe created vs. adopted pets?

Possibly an art-themed one? A chance to show off favorite pet art, for those who have custom pets? Or what species of pets are a favorite for artistic style?

Something I have always wanted to do is fully customize my pets pages on here. I see such incredible work and love put into many pets and I've always wanted that for myself too, I've just never been able to do that fully even though making art and writing are some of my favorite hobbies. My goal this year is to finally take a step in the right direction and start working on my pets one-by-one! The first one I'm going to work on is Celeste who is a cute narwhal.

Eventually I want to have both a Glacier Yaherra and a Glacier Popoko. I've already got a list of ice-related names that I compiled from a different project years ago, but what I don't have are character ideas. Sooo....any suggestions? :D

the glacier popoko has a very haughty yet dissatisfied expression that makes me think of a girl from a wealthy or powerful family, who's grown bitter from living under the perfectionistic and hypercritical demands of her parents/guardians. maybe after spending so long putting on an "icy" facade in the face of their abuse, she just can't take it anymore and wants to lash out and destroy everything or run away from it all.

the glacier yaherra has a more somber appearance, maybe even sad or trapped, with the lurking eerieness of those eyespots. maybe the story could revolve around some cursed woods that look like a beautiful winter wonderland on the surface, but the further you venture into them the more you realize there are dangerous, possibly even malevolent creatures watching and controlling everything, trying to drag you under their thrall and keep you trapped forever.

It's weird how hard it is to do this LOL. But me too! I'm trying to focus on batches, like 1 - 3 at a time because that way if I hit a block on one I can hop around and not just sit for ages waiting to feel creative again. We'll see how it goes LOL. Best of luck to us both! We've got this!

Ooooh, I think a lot of character inspiration for me comes from the name. I like to look into meanings of RWs or RNs to draw from those connections and pair them with the pet image and the character / story. I like 's ideas!

The popoko does give me almost "resigned" vibes. I think there's a lot of directions to take it depending on how you want the story to feel. I tend to be a bit of a "happier ending" or overall happier story kind of person so my brain goes to "do I want this to be the story of this character overcoming what has trapped them in a place where they feel resigned to their life / situation" but if I wanted to take it a less happy route I could see it being a "snapshot" of the characters life, why they feel that way. It could go somewhere totally different though, for example they have that jewel on their neck and maybe we could see their expression as a "are you really disturbing me" kind of thing. So that lends itself to ideas like maybe they're the "keeper" of this thing and get "challenged" by others for it, but continues to defeat them and is bored with all of it, repeatedly disappointed in the failures and lack of interesting minds of those who come to them?

The yaheera gives me more "sad" and I think a story I wrote for them would feel that way, like a gentle sadness that comes with the life that has been accepted. A happier story could be their "thawing", freeing them. Are they a winter spirit, required to bring the blankets of snow and cold, meaning they are often between the nostalgia of fall and the budding life of spring, destined to feel alone in their quiet world? Do they lift away the souls of those who have fallen beneath the ice into their realm? Lots of directions possible based on if they're human, non-human, animal, etc.

I dig the story! The idea is a creative one, and I don't think it's too graphic! I love the vibe / tone. It kinda reminds me of some of the "flavor" you'd get from Beetlejuice lol. I'm glad was able to help you with the idea, super fun outcome.
