Check out the news that just happened in Louisville a truck went over the side of the 2nd street Bridge the truck driver was just hanging in the air in his truck a Fire Fighter lowers himself down and then opens the truck door harnesses himself to the man then it took almost 45 minutes to get them back to the side of the bridge the wind kept blowing them away from the rescuers...right now the water temp is below freezing and if they would have fell into the water from that height it would have felt like the landed on cement ......Holy Shit

Wow I'm looking at the video now...that is an amazing rescue like something out of a movie.

I watched it live... When the rescuer got the man to safety I stood up and clapped and even shed a tear or two from being so happy

- amazing...I think I would have done the same! I didn't see the end...the video I found went only so far but he had the driver out and on the way to safety. What a hero!!

I'm feeling guilty. Should I be? I'm sitting here, crying because this has been such a horribly hard year for me.

I was pissed off this morning because my latch is still not fixed. I called them and I said "I primarily brought my bus in yesterday for the latch. Why is it not fixed? I'm not happy" and I had to bring my bus in to base. While I was there, there were two other drivers in the office. We got to talking. I know they were listening because I was getting psychoanalyzed and they were giving me nasty looks. I said to the man "You know what? They don't like you if you know what you're doing. I know what I'm doing and I take care of my bus" and he said "It's true. They also don't fix anything. If my bus breaks down on the side of the road, I'm there doing my own mechanical work". I said "I'm at the point where I want to tell them to send me for a mechanics course and pay for it, so I can fix my own things. ". Then we got to talking about the union rep and how he sucks. He said it's better going straight to the union for issues. Then I looked at one of the bitches behind the desk and I said "Oh, you know what? I also have 3 marker lights out. 2 in the back and one in the front. Please fix it when you fix my latch" 10min go by and then I was told there are no mechanics in. WHAT!!? How do you not have mechanics working??? WTF!!

I told my mom we all need to walk off the job and strike for better pay, better treatment, better management and better bus repair service. I also said something else and was going to mention it, but I can't seem to remember it. ANNNND, they might've been judging me, but I do a better job at psychoanalyzing because I took psychology. I could tell they were pissed off because I was speaking up and the other two drivers felt comfortable to share things.

They need people SO BAD. Everyone is leaving. I can point out all the reasons why! They won't get rid of me because:

1. I'm unionized
2. They need me until June
3. They can't afford to let anyone go
4. They need drivers

If I remember what else I said, I'll definitely tell you. If they want me to go get a torch, fine, I'll get one, but you better reimburse me for it.

I'm also keeping track of the hours I worked extra and those hours better be on my check two weeks from now.

A few hours later, I called my manager. I said "I've been upset over a comment that was said to me and it's not cool, wasn't called for and it wasn't needed" she said she'd speak to the dispatcher. Then I said "I shouldn't even be telling you this, but I never had an attitude problem. I'm easy to get a long with, but lately, I'm giving back the attitude I receive, which I'm sure, most people would. I have no problems helping out, covering this or that; but, you have to be nice to me. If you can't be nice, find someone else" so she told me not to bother bringing my bus in because she'll arrange someone else to do it. shrug

I don't even know if I should've said anything, but I can't take it anymore. I'm beating myself up and I have a headache.

- it is hard when an employer doesn't listen or care. Maybe they don't have a mechanic because they are also quitting. It is hard to detach from work stuff but try if you can. Your state of mind and health are more important than those people at work ❤
