- well, that book had an ending so wide I could drive a whole other book through it. I just sat there for like 10 min after Audible signed off just trying to figure out what the heck happened and if it was left that way because she was going to continue the story. Your opinion? You don't have to hold back now as I've finished the book. :D

okay well anyone else should not read this because it'd be a spoiler for a long book I guess, not that it'll make much sense if you haven't read the book so it doesn't matter that much...

basically! I expected Vita to have to leave the universe she was in, but instead she only had to leave the mistwatcher area of it, because it was the real universe I guess? it was only being weird there because the Mistwatcher was so enormous. So he was eating entire planets and stars, mostly for the metal but also for more soul-stuff-makers. Vita raced off, luring him away so that her friends could try and fix their worlds a way that Nawra and Vita couldn't think of right away... and apparently they're still working on it at the end.

Nawra was doing her destroy-Mistwatcher plan early because she didn't want Vita to be killed. But Vita found another way to escape, just, fly away from the Mistwatcher far enough into space and hide out on a planet with new people. I think that's what happened. I did read it all.

- Ok, wow, you got stuff that I never guessed at. I figured that the mist watcher, Vita, and Lark were entities of the same species because they all had their own colored mana. Mist watcher - orange, Vita - blue, and Lark's kind - black. I figured that for some reason I missed the blue mana entity and the black mana entity wanted to eat the mist watchers souls because they, for some reason, didn't have access to that where they were. I never got as far as the islands being planets. I figured they were shards of the same planet that the mist watcher shattered at some early point. I never thought of Hivve rock being in a different universe, just another chunk of the planet floating around the old orbit of the original shattered planet. This was definitley one I'll have to read again in order to catch everything, especially since you came away from the book with a vastly different understanding of what was going on. I'm going to start the Kencyrath series next. :D

Okay. So Vita ran off so that Nawra would chase her and not destroy everyone to weaken the Mistwatcher.

The islands are pieces of planets the Mistwatcher destroyed, like, multiple, one or two each time there was a Skybreak, which are said to happen every few hundred years.

There's only two universes - one where the mana stuff exists, and the regular one where all the people live. Only Mistwatcher and Vita are from that other universe originally, I think, though there were probably other beings like them? maybe? Nawra and later Penelope made themselves into beings like the Mistwatcher and

Hiverock is definitely the same universe as Verdantop and the centipede planet at the end, just, the aliens there are from a different planet than the humans. Probalby a different planet captured at a different time period entirely. though it's hard to guess which was captured first, but I'd suspect the planet Hiverock was from was captured by the Mistwatcher earlier than the one Verdantop was from.
