fun fact: Why do countries have stan at the end? There are seven countries in Central Asia with the suffix "-stan": Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. The suffix comes from the Persian root istan, or "land"—hence the "land of the Uzbeks," "land of the Kazakhs," and so forth.
Thank you so much for the gift and thank you to the dice for the unexpected surprise! In honor of the dice...and for all fellow D&D peeps out there...here's my fun fact for today - The world's most expensive dice was a very special 20 sided dice that sold for $17,925. It was a rare, deep blue-green, Roman glass gaming die. I'm all for interesting and cool/pretty dice, but I don't think I could swing the cost of that one lol
For today may I please ask for

fun fact: Do cats see color or just black and white? Although it is commonly believed that dogs and cats see only in black and white, recent evidence suggests that animals may have some degree of useful color vision. The perception of color is determined by the presence of cone photoreceptors within the retina.

Speaking of spiders, I found one in the kitchen sink yesterday, it was probably a giant house spider (Eratigena atrica). I managed to save it. They are not super good at surviving I'd say, they often end up in the sink or in like a jar or something they can't climb out of. I'm sorry to say but we've had a few accidents at home where the spider passed away. Like when someone has to pour hot water in the sink and notices too late that there's a spider there. But this one got another chance! I have a fear of spiders but it's really small now, I have really been working on it. The thing I like about our giant house spiders is that they don't like being close to humans. They won't accidentally end up on your shoulder or something like that. I once stood and watched one that was on the wall, and when it realized I had spotted it and was looking at it, it jumped down from the wall and ran away. It gave me quite a fright! I may have worked on my fear of spiders, but seeing one move when I'm not ready will still make my heart go boom boom boom boom. But, knowing it ran away from me makes me comfortable to live with them.
Oh, if possible I wish for a [item2=Imp Doll in a Candy Corn Sweater]
Edit: I read the English Wikipedia article on it now, and it's so weird that the image shows a spider that looks a bit different from what I'm used too. But maybe the apperance varies around the globe, especially since there are subspecies. English Wikipedia image The images on the Swedish article: male, maybe, female, maybe. I know the url says male on the female one but ... The females are larger and that kind in the image is always the larger one!
