I looked at the RP boards, too. I have fond memories of roleplaying on Neopets as a middle schooler; surely now that I actually DM IRL as an adult I'd be better at it... riiiiiiiiiight?

I'm not sure if the forums are active enough for a standard to still be relevant tbh. I don't really like making human characters, so I've been turning my HA into a monster girl and would probably characterize her as a freak of nature adopting other freaks of nature, like Blobs, Experiments, and Riftborn pets. (Because I love them.)

just a thought, but it might be a good idea to join some forum groups if you haven't already. ones that do daily reminders like the bathhouse pools forum group are a good excuse to make a couple of quick posts thanking the poster for the ping.

right now i just follow the bathhouse pools and the mystery box groups since they're the most active. maybe someone would be interested in making one for another daily if it doesn't exist yet...? it's a pretty useful feature but not a lot of people seem to use them regularly so there's probably a few site features that could use one.

it was really fun!!! so many funny parts and very cute to look at. and i loved the cameos lol even tho it does have a "deep" message, it's pretty lighthearted and silly. honestly i'd watch it again X3

I haven't seen it yet but the set design looks gorgeous! I love a movie that can blend a deep feel into a lighthearted spectacle, too. I'd decided to pass on the whole Barbenheimer thing until they were both out of theaters, but I might still try to catch Barbie on the big screen since I've heard a lot of good things about it.

"Ahhh, it's an 002 you're pining for, is it?" As if on cue, an unusually small RA-002 scurries out from under the desk, all moist blinking eyes and slithering tentacles. It skitters up onto the couch, numerous tiny grinding mouth-parts hoovering up stray shed scales.

"I find that there's a high variance in eye structure between individuals. Mort here," he gestures, "has very sensitive eyes, so does not receive physical affection very well." The Mort's quivering mass of eyes goggles lovingly at the doctor, who responds by opening his eyes wide and blinking them rapidly while making circles with thumb and forefinger and waggling them in the air like some kind of deranged dance idol. The anomaly purrs with delight. "Would I love to squeeze him? Of course I would. I'm a Dillema; I'm a hugger. But it would be selfish of me to prioritize my affection style over his. Love is less painful with compromise."

I have no idea, but it needs to be soon. The Chibi Experiment is the cutest thing in the world and the rift experiments would be EVEN CUTER.

It's going well so far, just weird and uncomfortable weather. Not in a danger zone, thankfully, but still like.... 100 degrees and wet.

I mostly watch foreign films these days. I've been watching Soviet-era Russian films lately; the Soviets had severe restrictions on what could be depicted in media, so the industry developed differently than it did in a lot of other places. I got around to watching Viy and it's crazy good, the horror is mostly atmospheric and it plays into Russian folklore. I'm really glad it got an official western release... 52 years after it was made...
