i know im pretty late to this conversation, but im a HUGE tama fan and collector. its actually becoming a small problem... LOL. i just customized my UNI and Love it. :) how do you like your uni thus far?

Its adorable and I love the internet connectivity of it! Did you replace the faceplate? How did you get the caps off of the screws on the back?

I like the connectivity functions too! I did replace the face plate with a paper one that someone created and i purchased. I used a little picking tool and popped them off. one is pretty badly scared up, so i just tossed them.

the hot glue trick didnt work for me :(

I hope I can get it to work. I like to avoid as much damage as possible when fussing with my tamas.

i adore your tama collection! i never owned the usual Bandai Tamagotchi, but i do have a digimon tama, the new-ish Eevee tama and an old Pikachu tama (the step counter one)

Oh, I genuinely love the digimon too! They've actually made me want to watch the original animes and stuff, but I need to find the "non americanized" ones just the subbed series. As nostalgic as the original digimon movie is, when looking back they really killed the serious and meaningful tone of the original.

Tbh the only thing I'm not fond of is some of the digimon will evolve in the middle of the night or an absurd hour in the morning 😫

haha, so i actually did that recently. i first watched the original mini movies with subs, then i watched the americanized Digimon: The Movie 2000 with a bunch of my friends. it was So Funny. i work in animation, and to see the choices they made during subbing/translation was just... it was a really good time. although, there were many sequences where i just could not watch. i was gawking at the TV. it was just so awful... and the way it ended.... hahaha. you should definitely watch both the subbed and dubbed to really appreciate it for what it was

yeah, my digimon woke me up a few times in the morning. i kinda welcomed it. it helped me get up earlier haha

Hey if the thing would have woken me up at a modest time close to my work wakeup time, I'd be fine with it, but it got me up at like 3 or 4am once just to loudly and obnoxiously evolve and go right back to sleep. Thats human child behavior and I will not stand for it in a tama.😭

I love Tamagochis, but I could never keep them happy. Then they came out with that online interactive stuff and it got too complicated, so I had to just stick to the little pod. I thought about getting the Grogu one they have at Gamestop though

Finally got around to making my tama SPARKLY! I used the paper backing from the original packaging.

I've never had one, but the hello kitty one I saw a while back looked super cute. Id probably be terrible at caring for it tho lol

Trust me when I say the new ones are ABSURDLY easy to care for which makes the charm of them a lot more peaceful and a lot less stressful. There's a few times that I've deliberately neglected the nano ones for like a day+ and the thing is still alive, sick and unhappy, but very much alive lol.

i don't collect them but they were an integral part of my childhood! i still have two from the early 2000's; i believe they're generation 2? and i recently purchased another remake of the first generation tamas. i have a real child and a real pet though now so lord knows i can't keep up with these beepy lil buggers lmao

Lol same! I need to have the lil things within line of sight to remember! At least I don't feel as guilty neglecting them seeing as they're digital things but sometimes I get a stream of poor care adults and I just want some good ones for once!

I still have all of mine from the '90s, but the last time I fired one up was around 2005-ish. For some reason, they suddenly became a fad again amongst my college classmates.

I took them very seriously back in the day though :D I'm very tempted to gift myself one of the new gen ones someday, but I have enough distractions in my life as it is! I'm already neglecting my Nintendogs and feel bad enough about that for now XD

Hey, those newer ones do have some A+ QOL improvements! Mine is unfortunately partially neglected at the moment but it lives anyway haha! It has a little babysitter function and spamming snacks for happiness doesn't seem to cause problems in the newest model. The biggest caveat is they can be a touch pricey, but you do get a backlight, rechargeable internal batteries and Wi-Fi connection with the newest one.

Don't remind me of my forever starving nintendogs though ^^; I also feel crazy bad now....
