I passed an area about 10 years go near carlsbad caverns, NM a week after a wild fire. I coughed hard for 5 miles until we were out of range of the smoke, and it was barely visible.

From a block away in the streetlights at night it looks like it's snowing.The back of my throat stings from this thick smog.

I wouldnt go outside with out a mask on if I were you.

They are suggesting n95's for us today. :(

N-95 masks help some, but wildfire smoke is so nasty I'd recommend a woodworkers style respirator, or an RZ pollution mask. Both have replacement filters and are usually available at most hardware stores. During the 2021 Caldor and Tamarack fires here, using just the N-95 left a lot of folks with long-term respiratory issues. Many of my trees are dying from the smoke taint, (maples and white firs were especially hard hit, though bark beetles are part of the problem with the fir trees), even though neither fire reached to where I live. OK, mine found that course material is paid for, which is a load off mine back. Zo, mime can use the federal aid funds for other expenses, mostly mine car. But, mine will set aside a portion for a reward if mine pass.

Mine still remember how mine lost a long bathhouse streak, a few years back mine was close to three years. But mine simply forgot when mine visited family in Mexico, zo a 976 day streak had poofed away.

Mine could not keep even a month now, oh well...
