I have a user trying to help me out by pinging me when the remotes restock. I'm either not on because I have things to do, making dinner, sleeping or getting ready for work (time timezone is EST).
It's just a pixel and I give up trying to get one. It makes me happier and less irritated over a game.
One day I'll get this remote LOL. I just never seem to be on at the right time when it stocks. That said, I think it's plenty well-balanced as it is. Just gotta be on at the right time is all. No one should have to save up 200k in crystals to buy a single item, when that 200k crystals could be better spent on more variety of items. And it's a good stat booster that I don't want to see changed either in response to stocking more.

No, please no. I don't mind not being able to get it because of limited availability. What would chap my hide would be to see it in stock, and not be able to afford it. Fragging enough items to get that silly Edward for the achievement was almost enough to make me rage-quit, and that's only 5K crystals.
P.S. , I love your signature's quotes.
haha im the opposite i always have a ton of crystals. all my items from questing (unless worth over 100k) go straight to the fragmentizer. imo the 15k-20k range is appropriate and pretty easy to reach if you just do daily quests
sadly however staff chooses to move forward or try for the next time this item stocks, it wont be the perfect solution for everyone. hopefully they take the suggestions on this thread into account and maybe try another way the next time they decide to stock the universal remote
I don't see "restock less but more often" really benefiting more people vs. few people catching restocks more than once. Hell, I managed to get 4 but I gifted 2 3 of them so please don't hate me... BUT I'm not the only one catching several restocks so it pretty much proves the point.
Having to be online for the exact 2 minute time window every 2-3 hours to have a chance is a bit ridic. I sit at the computer for hours each day because I'm an entrepreneur and work from home, that's why I got lucky with the restocks. 30 min cooldown already prevents from buying multiple per restock so I don't personally see the harm in stocking more at once. I can't remember the exact restock quantities from previous years/releases but I do NOT remember the remote selling out in such a short time!
no hate but damn im jealous! but thank you for posting that as an example of this method having the same people get multiple while others missed out on the miniscule windows
Appreciate your post!
It seems pretty clear (both from your post and the news comments) that the current method largely allows a small group of users to catch restocks over and over again instead of actually providing a more fair chance to everyone, which it seems like staff does want to do.
Having to be online at a very specific 120 seconds of the day is really a hard requirement for most folks.
SELL ME FOOD PLS? 🡺 CLICK HERE 🡸I stocked 3 Remote Controls and would have stocked 1 more had I bothered get enough crystals beforehand, so yeah, the current method needs to change. I still insist on a higher price large stock (maybe 100 or so) for a higher price.
I would love to see higher priced items added to the Crystal Shop, although who knows where you draw the line. It's just...broken :p.
The problem with increasing the price of the Remote is there are users with an obscene amount of HPC's (I'd be curious to know the highest hoard a user has!). If you increase the price and you can still make a profit.....those users will continue to buy multiple to resell like what happens at the current price point. If you price it too high....is an item like the Remote even worth saving for?
Problem # 2 - the cooldown is only 30 minutes so if your casually online you can get lucky with a couple of the restocks (which happens every release). Maybe a 4-6ish hour cooldown wouldn't be a terrible idea with how slow the pool moves to still give you time to buy items. That eliminates being able to get back to back restocks.
The Crystal Shop needs a lot more love to make users spend their hoards. I'd love to see higher price points in the crystal shop. (And no...i'm not going down THAT rabbit hole :p). There's no reason brand new crystal shop exclusives can't be added with a decent quantity on the regular. Add a new book... incorporate a cosmetic....pet slot...something to make it worth spending.
If there were more programming resources it would be fun to expand on what HPC's can be used on. Continuing the "Hustler" type shops and adding a new version that sells sought after items like this with increased time restrictions.
It's unfortunately never been used effectively to stimulate the market and there isn't an easy fix without taking away from something else. People vend daily just for simple frag food rather than buying up inexpensive items since it's just not worth the time and effort for what you can get the typical crystal shop item for from a user.
I would def support adding new Crystal shop exclusive items (perhaps as always available stock so staff doesnt have to manually stock it)/more restocks in general and even increasing the time limit. The crystal shop is great in concept but yeah doesnt have much going on aside from the occasional restocks.
