I get not having energy. That happens to me often.

Its been a bit cray cray here. Let's see... I had 3 violin lessons on the week of the fourth. One with my normal teacher, and two with two other teachers. My violin school gave me those other two lessons to see if another teacher would be beneficial to me. I'm getting a little disheartened with the rhythm training she is giving and all. I found the second teacher to be fun and engaging so I have a lesson with her next week. We'll see--I might change teachers.

Besides feeling down. discouraged and what-have-you with my violin progress/lessons, I've also been working on my stamina, which is greatly depleted with so many times that i have been in the damn cast. It wears me out to walk a long way....

Which brings me to my doctor's office calling and telling me (over a month later) that my bloodwork showed markers for either arthritis, lupis, immune disorder or inflammation. Well we know I have inflammation and I would not be surprised with arthritis at all. In fact I've been told to expect it and already thought I have it in my wrist. But I have to follow up with a doctor on that and see which of these I have and what they can do with it. Certainly some of my walking pains maybe included in one of these. IDK

Dad needed to go to the er the other day with a gushing nose bleed. Of course it was during a downpour that had rain coming in sheets... and naturally it got my cast wet. But the doctor's office told me to wait for my appointment the following day as it was almost closing time. It did dry out lol eventually. I did, however, get my cast off yesterday!!! WEEEE!!! And I'm celebrating in a week or so with a nice bubble bath. I am still adjusting to the cast being off and it's hard to walk for awhile but I'm still working on stamina. so yeah, lots of things at once lol.

It's pretty much my constant state right now. I've managed to like, watch some TV and that's about it anymore.

I'm glad your school let you try out a couple of other teachers and that you found one you might mesh better with.

I do hope the doctor's office can narrow it down. Mine had told me the same thing but I couldn't afford to see the specialists to determine if there was any kind of autoimmune disorder or anything and then my insurance has changed again so I need to actually see a new doctor (technically my old doctor from a long time ago since my insurance covers him - but I really liked him so hopefully he can get me new referrals and I can try to see the rheumatologist and I forget what else she wanted that I didn't get to). I hope you can get answers on that.

And I'm super glad your cast is off and you get to start working on moving around again and building your stamina and also enjoying a bath!

One of my favorites is, hilariously enough, Dueling Strings/Banjos ! He plays a violin dueling a guitar instead of banjos, but it's so fun. Another classic is Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson. And Who Wants to Live Forever by Queen. And like, everything else by him. Nods

I had my procedure but I don't know that it made as much difference as I'd hoped. I have less pain but not no pain unfortunately. How are you doing?

So Saturday was interesting lol, and by that I mean not 😛 See, the cat tower beside my door swells sometimes in the summer. Last year it actually blocked my entry to my room so I had no choice but to get an axe and make a hole in order to get my hand in and shift the cat tower enough. After that, I taped a clipboard on each side so the cat's can't hurt themselves on the splinters of the door. (fun times, right?) Well it's been happening with such regularity now that I get ticked off when the cats wouldn't let me sleep until 6am and dad tried to open my room to let them out at 7 and I was woken up. So I decided to pull back some of the carpeting covering the wood and saw off the corner, hoping that would let my door swing open correctly. All went well until I was stapling the carpeting back on--I had the staple gun the wrong direction and I stapled my hand--yes it really blood well hurt. In fact, I have two holes and a deep purple bruise. But sadly my Tetanus booster was exceptionally out of date by nearly 20 years. unfortunately, the last time I had the booster, my arm had an allergic reaction so that left little choice but to go to the er. So They gave me two shots, one in each arm. One was the Tetanus booster, the other was a steroid to help prevent an allergic reaction. Both arms were feeling it pretty nicely 😔

And my work didn't even help--the bottom base was also blocking the door. So I decided to try turning the cat tower--that worked. Now my door swings open and closed freely-- which means I can push for a new door after we pay for the violin LOL.

Also do you perchance have a spare buddy account?

Hey, it's been a rough week. Jay is having a hard time because his friend/boss is quitting the business so Jay is going to have to go out on his own soon (and on top of that the guy is delinquent in paying for the last 2 weeks of work and also hasn't had work at all this week for him).

And then on Sunday, on top of all of this, my cockatiel suddenly started having trouble moving and tipping forward when she tried (even when on the bottom of her cage). We had to rush her to an emergency vet and they told us she was dying. We had them euthanize her (though before they got there, she was having worse symptoms and it was extremely traumatic). She was 25 at least (possibly 26) so it's not like she didn't live to the upper ends of what's possible for them, but we've had her for more than half my life and it's really sad.

I'm very very sorry you ended up stapling your hand! Those things hurt a lot. And also sorry about the double shots. I hope that steroid helped though. I'm glad you were able to find a solution though and hopefully you can get a new door :)

doing okay. Been busy. I spent a lot of time trying to get this shoulder out of pain and the two weeks without playing violin was super tough so after a lot of leg work I found a used cello for a good price. Today Dad and I went up to ATL to buy it, then we took it to a luthier and had them give it a look over. It passed the test and is now mine. :) I'm pretty excited and even more excited that in the short time I was playing there was no pain, so hopefully this will be the perfect solution to keep me painfree but still playing. You?

I'm glad you've found a substitution for the violin! I've been okay - really worn out by work and other obligations so no real time or energy to get on my computer - especially during our heatwave we just had. I'm overall okay though.

I can understand sort of how you're feeling. I've spent the better part of a week battling ants. It's been several days of sleepless nights cleaning and attempting to drive off the ants that apparently have decided to camp in my bedroom and bathroom. It's been awful. Naturally I noticed them at 3am too. -sigh- I don't know where they got in, nor if the remaining ones I find are remnants or scouts but they've gotta go. I did lower the amount of cat food in my room so I hope that helps. Mostly its been washing all the tile and hardwood, hoovering the carpet thoroughly, washing everything that found it's way to the floor, and so on. My back is killing me, need more sleep and so on. Not been the best of weeks for sure.

That is really frustrating and exhausting, I'm sorry. Hopefully you got them and they'll go away. I'm...eh, we have a lot going on still at work and outside of it so I'm just burnt out I think.

i'm sorry you're burnt out -hugs- We are in the path of Helene. Not sure what intensity we'll get. At the moment it's a tropical storm watch and we already have rain and wind. Just letting you know in case I am unable to post on line for a few days.

we were largely unaffected by the storm thankfully. It wound up going right over us at a Cat 2 so we are very grateful. Unfortunately I've have had migraines almost non-stop since then and it's been rather debilitating :/ Hope you're well.

I'm sorry for the migraines hugs hopefully the pressure changes soon so you get a reduction. I know there's another hurricane brewing in the Gulf though so it might not clear until that goes by. I'm okay.

I'm so sorry, between the migraines and the crazy chaos that is the season of Christmas gift making, I've been rather busy and have utterly failed to get back online to chat--oopies. I'll try to do better. Promise. On the plus side, cello is going super well. I got slurs down! I've not been able to do slurs on the violin at all. Slurs, for those who don't know are playing more than one note on the same bow stroke. It basically makes the note slur into the next note so it changes the sound a bit. The best example is the song Amazing Grace on the Bagpipes. When you here the part when the bagpipes play the Ing part of Amazing the three notes are slurred together giving the notes texture. It's a gorgeous sound and I love it. And it's actually the song that I've been learning to do the same on the cello so it's quite special. Oh, and I decorated my cello bow with a wee wreath hanging down and the cello has a bow on the scroll for Christmas :) I hope all is going well for you

I'm sorry you've had such a rough time lately but I am really glad you're doing well with your cello and learning how to do new things on it ❤️

I've been super busy at work and dealing with the cold front making all my pains worse so I haven't been on a computer much either lately haha.
