I disagree? Some quest givers give out retired stuff at different points through the year, usually stuff that fits in-line with their theming. Now as someone who doesn't pretty do much quests except for Quentin and occasionally Wizard (I otherwise do Battle Quests which don't count for anything), I agree there's a lot of questers, but you don't have to do all of them. No one says you do. Do the ones you like, you get quest points as general currency anyways, you're not limited to earning Saggi quest points in order to buy only Saggi stuff out of the quest shop.

But just because I don't do quests doesn't mean they need to be drastically altered since everyone else likes them as is. Yeah, it gets tedious but so does anything you do daily. You still do it anyways. Or you find other means of making sPs so you don't have to rely on questing. Even if you cut down the amount of quests to do in a day, and doubled the prizes, you'd still get bored. That is inevitable. So I don't agree that anything needs to change on quests.

So back to the math part. 4.16 mill a day average means it takes roughly 24 days per 100 mill. That took me 8 years to do on neopets and that was relying on restocking. I am also actively working on my beanbag collection, I always check the advertising threads for quick sales to buy expensive ones, sometimes when I am questing I see shops like comment to haggle or will discount, then I wishlist search them and reach out. Always check items bought in other currencies for the base price (sp value per point/token whatever) to ensure you don't overpay. Right now I am stock piling sP so after lumi I can reassess what I have left to buy. No one forces a player to have full collections or to go after them all. It is a choice a player makes knowing full well that it is gonna take effort AND be expensive. Also they warn you all the time the items cannot be taken out so basically almost all collections are SP/CSC sinks. Plus subeta does a fairly good job at listening to feedback of releasing old unobtainable items, usually during special times through quests. Cutting quests just because it is time intensive doesn't help the site. Quests pumps more sP in the site than it takes. Especially when we buy items form user shops rather than normal shops. Quests are also a big reason why items get bought out from user shops to begin with. A user has a choice. They can quest all of them in one go, not quest, or do a few at a time when they can if they can't commit to doing it in one go. Daily quest completion benefits the user not the site. And the site does not require you to do them unless you choose to go after achievements or doing a drills quest. (Maybe required during the newbie get to know the site line. This tutorial wasn't a thing when I joined the site)

I think most of the quests are generous enough except for Quentin and Maleria (but that's in character for her), I do think Quentin's prizes could do with adjusting. As for other improvements I'd like to see:

As someone already mentioned earlier, reduce the main shop timer or have it only count in the same shop (for example, there is no timer if you buy an item from Defend and Conquer and then another from Weapons Warehouse, but there is if you then buy another item from WW).

Add the option to disable alerts for the discount buff and Morty Cards. Those are so annoying, especially the discount one because it wears off hours after I'm done questing. These alerts are just more unnecessary clicks to me. Also add the option to disable the autopricer alert as well. There's a reason I don't use these features as often as I do.

As mentioned above, maybe an improvement to Quentin's prizes, either by giving out more SP so you still make a profit, or by giving out more valuable items. You could also have Maleria and Cinthia give out items at times other than when they're the Weekend Quest or giving out holiday items to make people more inclined to do them, even if the items do eventually become cheaper.

Aside from that, questing is alright, and faster to do on mobile for me.

Some days I find questing takes too long and I'm not in the right headspace for it; so I don't do them. Other days I wish I had another 100 quests to do. Depends really.

I agree that the main shop timer is annoying, especially for Maleria's quests where there are often 3 items to be purchased. However, I understand the need to prevent people abusing the system. It's not perfect and it is an inconvenience, but I don't have a suggestion for a workaround.

I've mentioned before that often Quentin asks for items that are above 40k sP (I believe he's meant to be under this amount - correct me if I'm wrong) which is a pain, but I still complete them anyway. A closer look at the item pool he requests from would be nice.

Whilst I know this is by design - I really struggle with the Mori / Nori quests. I live in the UK and my schedule means the only chance I get to do Mori quests is if I happen to be up at 1am. I'd really welcome a way around this - such as paying for a pass to be able to do Mori quests. Even if this was being able to switch between Nori / Mori as an either/or daily situation, or a more expensive pass that unlocks Mori constantly. I understand that Mori / Nori is time sensitive by design, but this is just my little wish!

Final point and one I've spoken on before is the frequency of Oracle's Quests. I believe this was adjusted to be more frequent, but I've barely noticed a difference. I've been here for nearly 12 years and have only completed 28 quests.

I love questing and would be very unhappy if there were fewer of them. I usually do them here and there throughout the day, not in one sitting.

I'd like it if the timer between purchases was 3-4 seconds instead of 5.

Respectfully, OP, I disagree.

Coming from the horrible landscape that is Neopets, I think that Subeta's questing is, in comparison, heaven. Items may be more expensive to accommodate for sP being so easily attainable, and I agree with others who say quests can be (and usually are) a boring grind, but the effort you put into it is what you get out of it and the questing system how it is is very rewarding in my humble opinion. Plus, the items you gain from questing you can frag or sell, going both for normal items and items with a bit more rarity behind them. I find that I make a very decent profit for the amount of effort put into it and I bet most others will find the same.

I don't think I've ever seen something describe exactly how I feel about quests so well. They're boring, but they're worth it.

Also, I'm not exactly sure where your numbers of 1 hour come from when talking about how long it takes to complete quests, unless you live in a rural area where internet services are often lacking. Living in quite a rural area myself, I know all too well how slow internet can sap the motivation from you to do quests. They do take about 45 minutes to an hour when I'm on my home wifi and they're absolutely excruciating when they do! I'd rather keep my sanity and not do any quests than endure that torture, LMAO.

But when I'm using my mobile hotspot or in a place with faster wifi, I find that quests only take 20-25 minutes and are far less grindy. Plus, the Subeta Team has made sure that quests are as easy as a few routine button clicks and that makes them much easier to accomplish on mobile, too.

I also have issues with carpal tunnel and can't use a normal mouse for more than 15 minutes or so consistently, but I recently got an ergonomic mouse and it's made using my computer for long periods of time an absolute dream. Just some things to keep in mind if you're looking for reasons you may be averse to questing that aren't related to Subeta itself.

All in all, I'm not saying the questing on Subeta is perfect, but compared to others I've seen out there? It's really close, short of them having us get 10-15 items for one quest and receiving all of our quest spoils in one fell swoop.

I hate quests. I also love then when I'm stuck in a meeting at work where we're just being talked at. I hate quest points. There is no follow up to this - but that's only because of the cost of the beanbags I need.

I get it but also don't think this is a site issue. I think it's a time spending thing.. You don't have to do all the quests daily. I would never sit and do all the quests all at once because I wouldn't like doing something repetitive in general. So I do the ones that make the most the fastest here and there, not even every day lol and with selling stuff in shops, make decent sp. So I think it might be more about what and how you're choosing to spend your time. If you choose quests to make sp thats your choice, there are other ways to do so that might be less boring for you. I do agree that there are things that could be tweaked to make quests better but. compared to other sites I find that this is not stressful at all and easy. I 100% prefer it over other gaming sites methods where it can not only be boring but extremely hard to make/hang onto currency at all. Just sayin

I think the system is unappealing to new users, quest points are a terrible system for newcomers that already suffer from item bloat, and to me personally it never was fun even when doing it while watching something. I think the system should be used to reduce the amount of items in the system, but it mostly just clutters inventories and makes people get a Gold account. I LOVE it when different NPCs give out seasonal items. It's a great oportunity to make items accessible. I don't come here to work - I want to have fun. Busy work is by definition not fun. Let me earn my funds by engaging with the site and not do mindless clicking that will give me carpal tunnel syndrome.

The site has a terrible gameplay loop that is perfect for people who have been here for years, but I just don't see how new users should get any fun out of it. I might be wrong here, but that's how I felt in that regard. I wish the questing would be redesigned to become more closer to the recyling shop where we actually know what to restock. This would take design effort which does not seem feasible to the team at this point, though - I understand. Restocking is way too niche for the amount of shops that we have and all the little systems existing on the site are just not working together.

Still, all valid points in this post. It's just how I am feeling about questing. I don't think that shifting the numbers would change anything, so I believe that just vibing with it is the way to go. There is potential, and I hope we get to see them realized in some form in the future on Subeta or elsewhere.

I personally love questing as it is just to see how fast I can do them and watch the numbers go up haha Learning the page back hotkey for my browser was a game changer for me. As far as the five second timer, I usually have another tab open that I'm doing something else in (scratch cards, ice fields, etc) so I just bounce around. Questing on my phone is slightly less fun but I don't mind it too much! I like to do it while I'm listening to or watching something that doesn't require my whole attention. Also I love quest points because I forget about them for months on end and then I get to go SHOPPING

They're kinda boring but I hardly mind them. I like being able to get plushies/beanbags to fill up those collections (for the mundane ones, at least), books for pets, mage amulets for the gambling aspect of them... and anything I don't use, which is most things, gets chucked in the shop and autopriced. The profit flows. If I do everything and autoprice most everything, that's an easy 5-7m.

I wouldn't mind some spicier quests, though. More high-risk high-reward or hyper specific items or what-have-you. Anyone remember that time when Saggitarius asked for really expensive/odd stuff and had much higher payouts? I liked that a lot. Maybe even some higher-end quests that can spit out old pricey items, though I have no idea what that'd do to the economy.

It's a good system, at least when I'm motivated to do it lol.

edit: also had a great point, I ALSO love when seasonal items are put in quests. it's the spice

i am not sure if anyone has said this but i hate when quest givers (mostly quentin) ask for items from seasonal shops because they're often horrifically inflated when in user shops, making them inaccessible at a fair price to newer players who might not have seasonal currency. its also annoying having to crawl through the years to find where it is if you don't wanna pick it up from usershops.

other than that, questing is of course tedious and boring but i don't think its unrewarding necessarily... it's just not linear or "worth it" to richer players, which i don't think is a bad thing. just adds a little difficulty ramp !! gaining 3mil sp when you only have 100k sp isn't going to feel the same as gaining 3mil when you have 100mil to begin with.

You don't have to 'crawl through the years'. If you search for a seasonal item at SubetaLodge, not only will it show you the year, but the search results link directly to that year's tab.

I hope this helps make questing a little less tedious for you.

tbh i dont mind questing, even if it is a bit tedious its incredibly streamlined now and pretty quick to do. it would be nice if there were other options, since i do agree that sometimes quest earnings feel like not that much compared to how much a lot of things on the site cost

I think it might be better to balance out the games and such to give more SP instead. This is obviously a noob perspective, but once I am done my quests, I really don't do much else because compared to quests, restocking and games really isn't worth much.

I enjoy questing quite a bit myself, but I wouldn't be opposed to other methods working in the long run. Folks have different playstyles and for higher cost items, a way to generate point rapidly, even if its with high input requirement would be interesting.

yeah, i hate quests and basically never do them (and when i do its usually just quentin and maybe saggi or wiz), but i still think they're fine. i remember when it was 30 quests instead of 15, and that was just plain out overwhelming. 15 is manageable, and like many people said you can usually get them all done in less than an hour. now when there are motivators like old items and holiday stuff.....then i will do them ALL.

what i think the issue is isn't quests. it's that hardly anything else on the site makes a lot of money save for like....vending i guess? i agree with the earlier suggestions in the thread that games would benefit from higher payouts and give users another option...ik if the games didnt have achievements i wouldn't even touch them (save for item hunt but i finished that like 7 years ago)

i can't really think of any alternatives that don't rely on making a lot of new content (which isn't where subeta is at rn) other than maybe adding some achievements that award sP? but even then that wouldn't really be a daily thing so idk :| might be nice for lower tier achievements for newer players tho

idk man i just stay broke bc i dont wanna do my quests & then when i do i sink all the sP into buying books for my pet lol
