But it isn't late. Survival 2020 and 2022 started on the 19th, 2021 ran a little late and started on the 23rd. 2017-2019 is started on the 16th. I dug through the news archives and the absolute earliest it started was on the 13th in 2012. The original infections in 2009 hit in the first week of February, but Survival has always been a post-valentines event.

My point was that you can't complain about a lack of transparency and then have one of your examples be something that staff has actually been transparent about.

As already pointed out, Survival isn't actually late based on history. And imo it isn't late this year unless it ends up starting after Tuesday.

Well it is certainly a problem that openly, paypal is not accepted as a payment option (OPENLY...). I'm still able to pay with paypal and have continued to support the site for so many years quite regularly, so it makes me really sad to see Subeta in such a bad state. But let's be honest: The site was never that stable. Even back when a lot more users were around during events, there was so much lag and bugs. I'm thankful nevertheless because usually the issues did get resolved, but you always had to be quite patient. Now we are really lacking active users as well as staff, so the site, again, is not in a good state and it makes me so sad. I hope despite that, subeta will continue as it always has because as others have stated, it is a project that grew out of love.. So many different artists over the years have contributed to the site and the avatars, it would be such a shame to see it go to waste. I've always been around (althoguh lately, i have been so incredibly busy with work) and I'll continue to do so. Please continue to support the site and if you can, make more people join so we will have a bigger community again.

Is there a plan to hire on replacement staff? If not, what’s the future of the site looking like? I’ve been back from hiatus for 8 months now and it seems like the answer to every question is “We’re working on it but we have a skeleton crew.” It’s completely understandable that Subeta is too large of an entity for just a small crew of people to run. But where is the solution to this?

From what I’ve seen, we would most benefit from an additional programmer, to step into the space that left.

I believe they were talking about the 2022 (this past December) MM. which we were told would be late, then never really heard anything about again and now it's Survival.

I'm new here, so I don't think what I'm about to say matters but- The site is alive, it's fun, and the people who run it work hard. If you are unsatisfied, don't pay, but I strongly believe that the staff deserve to be paid for what they do. I understand why people are upset, and I agree that promises should be fulfilled. But I think the most important thing is to be grateful for what we have, and that we can all still enjoy the game together!

I'm just going to throw it out there, It would be lovely to get more fox and wolf animal wearables that are at ground level on your HA. But other than that, I love being on subeta to just escape for a time. Yes, I do miss event achievements, that haven't happened in a few years now. But from what I was told by a friend, subeta just doesn't have as much staff as they used to have ages ago. Just enjoy subeta for the fun escape it is.

I appreciate that Subeta has been here for me over the past decade, ready for me to jump in and out of when I'm ready to come back. I appreciate that things are still happening, albeit at a lesser level than it used to, even all these years later.

At the same time, I think it is fair for remaining players to wish for a certain level of communication and transparency, and overall activity on the site on the staff's part. The extent to which achieving this wish is possible given what's going on behind the scenes, I don't know.

I'm similarly concerned about the attrition of players - knowing full well that I've contributed to this attrition over the years. There are some things Subeta can't change to address this attrition, like people's personal or financial circumstances. However, investment into Subeta on the staff's part could be one way to address this attrition.

I just came back, and it's sad to see this still happen.

I don't know about OP or anybody else who posted in this thread but at least I would be happy if we had a list of all that is broken. I just want that, a list. I want a list of "common bugs, missing features, upcoming updates", and I'll be happy. Let us know what is around and what you are working on.

Information about delayed holidays would save a lot of player disappointment. For example, the Holiday Schedule says Masquerade starts mid-May but it's now the 19th. Maybe something like "We're waiting for a weekend to start it because there will be more staff if something goes wrong" or "We're still waiting for the last of the Steamworks/Lounge items and will make an announcement as soon as we can."
