They've added the name of the next friendly challenger to the battle records, and it is not who I thought it was going to be this month...

I really thought it would be Elsie but not possessed, since we have two versions of the Mage as challengers and it would relate to Survival and the Sweety Dead monthly theme. Instead they're going with Shengui Guo this month. I guess it makes sense with the name of the CS challenger that was added before it that made me think of the Bathhouse and I was confused because we already have Ying, I completely forgot that there's another NPC who IS a Torrent (actually I'm not sure if Ying is a hybrid between a Torrent and the Shengui Guo native race).
Also, judging by two names we have so far, I wonder if all the CS challengers this year will be robots of some kind. I'm also still wondering if they'll have a birthstone theme or if last month was just a one-off, but we'll find out soon,

Nope, this year will continue to have the birthstone theme it was just a matter of being able to get the battle admin on to release. Some of us on staff have day jobs that don't allow you near a computer, which is why the challengers came this evening!

Looking at the challengers list via ID, did any one notice one named Jackalope? Unless that was merely a placeholder name?
I see that now. I wonder which of the two stones it will be next month. The subscription items for March have all been Bloodstone so far but it could end up being Aquamarine this year.
Also I didn't notice that typo and now it will forever be stuck like that in the quote.

Doesn't behave any different when paired with last month's weapon, Great Garnet War Hammer
Pretty meh T8 weapon.

Alright, so the birthstones don't necessarily relate to the NPCs in terms of aesthetics or lore, so it will be hard to guess which NPCs we'll have. Also, unless proven otherwise, I'm going to headcanon their birthdays as being in the months they're released in, but I don't think we have any canon birthdays except for Elwood and Brunhilde and Bloodhungry (and one of them is already a challenger). So instead I'm just going to make a list of the birthstones for the rest of the year.

March - Bloodstone or Aquamarine as I said before
April - Diamond
May - Emerald
June - Pearl
July - Ruby
August - Sardonyx or Peridot, although we've had bonus items based on something called Pallasite which I'm not sure if it's a variant of Peridot or not
September - Sapphire or Spinel
October - Opal or Tourmaline
November - Citrine or Topaz
December - Zircon or Turquoise
So the ones I'll be really curious about seeing are March, August, September, October, November, and December, just to see which stones they choose.
