So It took yall over 14 hours (I was trying since 11pm EST) to finally see something was wrong. & users who were locked out get a... Nah, we aint extending fireside. But simple Lag will extend everything else. OK, gotcha. Thanks for the socials updates regarding this problem.

Thanks for the update! And I'm glad for no extension on Fireside, then we'd have Luminaire and Fireside going on at the same time & that would feel weird!

Was having some issues with lag and some blank pages a bit ago, Kept getting logged out earlier too. I will wait and see if things become resolved before doing anything major on site.

Maybe instead of extending Fireside, the floating items could show up more frequently on the last day? Just a suggestion for those who are complaining about it. I only need a few more items myself that aren't too expensive to buy if it comes to it.

Not y'all definitively saying Fireside won't be getting an extension, but the BF sale might. As if I'll be inclined to spend money when this site constantly has issues literally every single event over the course of 10+ years. 🤡
Damn shame all these issues keep happening during time sensitive holidays. Unable to log in for fourteen hours is just...not great to be honest.

I'm not affected myself. Yet: The Bonfire isn't so much the problem (while missing out on floating items maybe), but like always if people lost almost a whole day (as when suddenly lag strikes at the time you had planned to do a majority), they missed precious battle time. If you have a lot of pets and want to go to the level 50, 75 and beyond prizes, that's a huge drawback!

The reason we don't want to extend Fireside into Luminaire is because some of the set-up for Fireside conflicts with Lumi; for instance, we can't really do floating fairies and floating rreign items at the same time. Keeping up the Bonfire along with, say, trees, is very resource-intensive.
It's not exactly unrelated; holidays are often when something gets adjusted, or the servers and/or databases are under the most strain. The 'active pet' check, for instance, is related to Fireside because the Rreign has a chance of burning your active pet if you throw in a Wreathed item. Trees during Lumi make the database do a lot of work, and the event in general is a busy one. Survival is server-heavy. Vesnali is database-heavy. Keith is working on the database but is sorting ten years of coding cruft on it, and spinning up more servers can cost hundreds of dollars per day at peak capacity. So we really are trying to make them as smooth as possible, but there is a lot that goes on at those special times!
I can ask if it'd be okay to keep the battle opponents around an extra day, though!
