Popping in to say HI!! I miss you all! Work has been insane. So many on staff are out sick, it's crazy. knock on wood I've dodged all the sickness Tomorrow is my last day of work until Dec 27th! It's gonna snow overnight, so I'm really hoping for a nice quiet morning. We shall see LOL I'll be baking and felting and hiking most of the week(and stuffing trees here), but I'll be happy to NOT be at work! Yay! :D

What will you be baking? I'm a terrible cook, so I don't even try any more, but my Mom is a fantastic one. I remember growing up how the house smelled so wonderful nearly all December! She still makes an amazing spread for Christmas Eve, even though it's just my parents and my husband and I. This year it's Russian teacakes, sugar cookies, molasses cookies, chocolate crinkle cookies, fudge, cream cheese mints, cheese ball, and sausage balls!

yum!! I usually bake chocolate chip cookies, chocolate crinkles, triple-decker cheesecake bars, twix bars, and whatever else I feel like making lol. I dip Oreos in chocolate for a couple of people. I also make cinnamon rolls from scratch for Christmas morning :) My brother-in-law is lactose intolerant, so I have to make special cookies for him. Someone at work also asked if I could bring in a spiced rum cake, so I guess I need to make that too LMAO! So many things, so little time!

We’re doing Mexican food for Christmas this year. I’m lucky that my brother loves cook. He’s the type that if I start making something he’ll come in and gradually take over, which I’m happy for him to do!! But he’s not a dessert person so that’s up to Mom and me.

I know we’re doing cream cheese cookies, mince pies, and petit fours for desserts. But I think that’s it.

Jealous of you guys that are off already, but I do get a four day weekend, so … soon and very soon!

It was 43 F this morning when I woke up and it's 4 F tonight. They said today is the first time central Arkansas has seen single digits temperature since 1989! I think I'll skip deer hunting in the morning.

We're at 4°F right now, with a wind chill of -10°. HIGHLY unusual in East Tennessee. I hope every one is staying safe and warm!

Due to timing issues we had our big Christmas today. I’m glad the sun managed to make an appearance, as Jeff noted Arkansans aren’t built for single digit weather!

I’m making my way through trees and listening to Transiberian Orchestra while trying not to fall into a food coma.
