Congrats on 900 days! Good for you...I didn't last anywhere near that long on Duolingo. It's a good app but I don't have a good memory.

Mine motivation has always been a lifelong interest since an episode of Reading Rainbow. The theme was eggs, and the segment about Russian egg docorating. There mine learned the forst two words, Babushka and Dyedushka.

Mine admit singing during services is more encouraging, as is reading the Bible in Russian. (To the audio in Spanish...)

Mine find words with four consecutive consonants difficult to pronounce, but those tend to be long anyway.

Mine find langauges not based on Greek or Latin would be incomprehensible at first. You ever hear Silbo? I believe it has no written basis.
