Mine need to do more research, some torque values are left ungknown. The bolts for the front cover, and the bolt for the harmonic balancer. Tho mine think the former may be lower inch/pounds, and the latter 45-55 foot/pounds. Mine prefer correct figures, mine only assuming based on general guidelines.

Too bad the winds are rough this evening, mine would love to break out one of mine unicorn kites...tho flying on a moonless night would be more amusing...

oh my lands girlfriend, I apologize! My brain is not the best, thanks to some new treatments, and it looks like I've missed two pings from ya! :O Doing ok, just a lot busier this time of year, and with treatments on top of everything else, it doesn't leave me much time for Subeta. 😢 How are things your way? My lil sis came from Cali to visit, it was great. She loved the snow we got last week, but couldn't get used to the cold... lol. Are you doing any gardening out there?

One more day to finish, everything about mine car's repairs is done save one. Mine need to readjust the gears of the timing, in particular the crankshaft. A few steps to correct, and mine can close up to check function.

The last step after the whole thing, is an oil change. Tho a few minutes running could clean off the residue from the job.

Mine nervous about the results, mine never done this before. Considering the guides and mine own discerning, mine still unclear if the engine is in proper alignment. This engine is interference type, zo the possibility of a real catastrophe is there.

All mine gknow is that both chains are aligned correctly, every bolt is torqued to spec, and except for the exhaust manifold the engine is ready for a test. That will have to wait until tomorrow, mine stopped on account of weather and other matters.

Mine am hungry, and some warm food is what the day calls for.

- I like your car updates although most of it might as well be another language for what I understand about cars. My first car was old and beat up when I got it and I loved it. It was a 1971 Datsun 1200 coupe. It had some bondo on it..and the driver door was tied on with a rope so I had to get in and out on the passenger side at first (till I got it fixed :P) I loved that old jalopy. It had a knob for a choke which helped to start on some mornings.

Mine last update is the overall job was successful, the running engine is much quieter. Mine also more informed about another detail concerning the water pump. If mine want to look at the seals, the process is different. At least the front cover can stay on.

Mine first car is looking to be a big step out of an otherwise drab life.

Finally found the energy to get back here !:) I have been sick for over 6 months, cause I contracted a respatory infection with only coughing and I waited way to long to go to the doctor's. =/

OOH, test drive tomorrow sounds exciting. Your FIRST car? I had always thought you have had lots of them.

No, this is mine first car under mine name. Mine have worked on many others but never mine own. Even better, the test drive showed an unexpected surprise, the check engine light is off. Mine can focus on other areas, since a follow up for performance is not necessary.

Mine hands were surely guided, considering this to be the first intensive repair work. Due credit is given.

Blood, sweat, and tears went into this, mine can enjoy a ride without the worry.
