Sunday be free for mine, maybe mine could find out why mine car won't start. It cracks, but doesn't turn over, the ignition or fuel systems may be at fault.

I hope that car is an easy fix.

: My Author says, "Which is easiest to fix? Check that first." He says ignition is easiest to check. Don't use the finger method unless you want 100,000 volts shooting up your arm. He wonders if you have a timing light and a remote starter switch and if your car has a distributor or is using electronic ignition. Me? My mate Weldon and I went to Lodi California with my Author, his mate Francine and the two grandchildren (I couldn't take my 14 children, no room in the trunk...alas) and we met , and at Great-Grandmama Donna's house for Thanksgiving Dinner. We stayed Wed. and Thur. night and came home on Fri. Traffic along the Highway 99 corridor was terrible on Wed. at least 8 traffic stops for wrecks in the 130 mile route. It was much better Fri. afternoon coming home.

We had all the traditional TD foods and it was all so tasty. My Author's turkey was so flavorful and totally not dry. (he brines his bird). The pies all had buttery crust with no soggy bottoms. (sweet-potato pie, pecan and vegetarian mince). Cornbread stuffing, garlic mash, gravy....now I'm hungry.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving filled with blessings, family and gracious hearts.

It was fine, thanks. We don't have a big dinner, or lots of people gathering, or anything like that, but it was still nice. I actually prefer the quiet. :)

Mine agree about the least invasive approach.
The ignition is distributorless, but mine does not have the tools to check. Mine youngest brother may have some, but mine cannot ask until they return from their road trip later today. Mine gknow some electronic functions can be checked with a scan tool, JAG has one that may have bilateral control.

Mine seats have fruit bars, granola, and an emergency ration block under the driver's seat.

The timing iz inconvenient at best, tho the car has more issues to cover. Mine starting to think replacing the entire car may be more practical.

Mine youngest brother suggested to check the fuels system for pressure with KOEO, which means mine will need to get a pressure guage for this test. Mine gknow what comes depending on the result.

Nothing yet, mine will get a pressure gauge set to test the fuel system. With the result mine brother can advise the nest steps.

Traffic on the Route 99 through Merced California is a nightmare. They are widening the freeway through the town so the whole 5 mile corridor has concrete guardrails, oddball lane switches, and very narrow lanes with 45 mph speed limits. All this on one of the busiest freeways in California on a major holiday. Whew! I'm glad I'm too small to drive. I just huddled on the floor with Weldon and shivered in fear and ate stale french fries I found under the driver's seat.

: Oh yeah! 100,000 volts! Not a lot of current in a spark plug wire, but it'll curl your whiskers! One winter I got to help my Author replace an engine in a Ford Taurus and I accidentally touched a sparkplug wire just as he cranked the engine and ZAP! Right on my fuzzy little greasy butt. Everything turned out OK, I got a Slurpie and a Slim Jim and his mate Francine gave me a bath in the kitchen sink. I'd sit on 6 spark plug wires for another Coke a Cola Slurpie. Those things will keep you awake all night!

Zo, the fuel pressure guage shows 50 psi, lower than spec but indicates function. Mine brother suggested to check fuses and relays for ignition and coils. Mine need a few minutes to refresh on testing relays.

If these are culprit, the solution may be a simple change out.

[Edit] Mine testing shows no voltage in any scenario. I'll let mine brother gknow, tho mine is rusty on testing components this way. The textbooks have a generalized process, which make mine findings only partially reliable.

Mine will throw in a cactus fruit sorbet popsicle, if you hold the volt meter leads while mine crank the engine. Any number would better than zero.
